Not sure why you would think that. In the last publically available comparison of wages in accounts, there was a huge gulf in wages between the two clubs and Premier League rules restrict the increase a team can add to its wages each year so they can't catch up easily even if they wanted.
I'd guess his point was that Krueger said in the past it would only happen with regulalr 100% attendance. But 100% attendances don't happen at other clubs for a variety of reasons, yet other clubs still feel it is justified to expand.
Same as always in a cup draw I want...
...the worst team in the draw at St Mary's to give Saints the best possible chance of progression to the next round!
I made no mention of that. I was talking about the quality of the football. If the "big clubs" leave the league, Southampton's income will fall sharply and we'd be watching a lower standard of footballers.
No it wouldn't, it would be a disaster for Saints! Their income would fall significantly and the quality of players we could attract would also decline.
Spain is doing it to "catch up with the Premier League". If the Premier League is already ahead... they don't need to catch up. Nor will this really help Spain catch-up/overtake the PL.
I'd guess it was more that Cedric has only had 1 week of training at Saints since last season, played no pre-season games since the World Cup, recently had a stomach bug and wasn't fully match fit.
He was isolated in the first half (which isn't really his fault), if we play 4-2-3-1 and have the 3 supporting him he'll be a lot more effective. No harm giving Gabbiadini a try, but I wouldn't be writing Austin off just yet.
It was not really 4-4-2 after 55 minutes when the changes were made, it was more 4-2-3-1.
Admittedly there isn't a huge amount of difference between 4-4-2 and 4-2-3-1, but I think the second half shape was different enough to be classed as 4-2-3-1.
