  1. The British media is not the only thing I wrote... I used an "or"
  2. Not by the British media or people in British football for a move between two English clubs. Shame, because I voted remain.
  3. I did acknowledge the further payments might not happen, but Heisenberg ignores them every time regardless and opts for the lower figure to bash the club.
  4. Would be odd if it was not pounds sterling. Why would we buy a player from an English club in Euros?
  5. Read the rest of my post and all the other links I provided. For example... http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11698/10934353/west-brom-sign-jay-rodriguez-from-southampton
  6. You know transfers come with guaranteed money and then potential (but not always fulfilled clauses that hit targets and raise the price don't you...? Sadio Mane fee potentially rises to £38.5m... https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2016/06/27/liverpool-could-end-up-paying-385m-for-sadio-mane/ Why do you continue bringing this up even though it keeps being explained to you that the £30m figure some media outlets used was likely to be the guaranteed money, the rest is in potential fees.
  7. You use the Daily Mail for £12m. Here it is £15m... http://www.skysports.com/football/news/12040/10933764/west-brom-set-to-sign-jay-rodriguez-in-15m-deal-from-southampton Have you considered it could be a guaranteed £12m rising to £15m? Like is suggested here... https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/823913/Jay-Rodriguez-West-Brom-Transfer-News-Southampton-News-England and here... http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11698/10934353/west-brom-sign-jay-rodriguez-from-southampton and here... https://www.expressandstar.com/sport/football/west-bromwich-albion/2017/08/01/happier-jay-rodriguez-is-different-bloke-since-joining-west-brom-says-dad-kiko/ and here... https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/1225989/west-brom-set-to-sign-southampton-striker-jay-rodriguez-in-15m-deal-as-tony-pulis-starts-summer-spending/ and here... https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/626739/Jay-Rodriguez-West-Brom-Complete-Signing-Done-Deal-Southampton-12m-Gossip etc etc
  8. Are you saying that is high or low? Saints sold him for £15m.
  9. Well that just highlights you both overlooked the caveat I used in the opening post of that thread! I used the word "seemingly" in italics and linked to a report in the Portuguese thread, I did not claim to know it would happen, I was positing a link to a press story. "Seemingly" is not definitive.
  10. Because if he doesn't leave he'd be playing in the Championship for a 2nd season in a row on less wages than he'd get in the Premier League in 2018/19.
  11. I'm puzzled why you are both seemingly close to ruling out a signing in the next 10 days. Just because one hasn't happened yet... how does that impact on one happening or not before they fly to China?
  12. Four candles or handles for forks?
  13. The lunatics are running the asylum!
  14. Gibson is 25 years old, I wouldn't really class that as particularly young for a footballer. He has had 7 years of first team football. I don't see how Boufal qualifies as a journeyman mercenary. Saints are only his 3rd team and they are his 1st team outside the country of his birth.
  15. The club track huge numbers of players, the decisions on which of the huge list to target still needed to be made. Those decisions were done without Cortese and Pochettino. Utterly pathetic! That is just a vile misogynistic post. Plus...
  16. I was just playing Devil's advocate and showing his record over the last 2 seasons has been a lot better and he hasn't had as many injury problems. I did not say if we should sign him or not.
  17. The summer of 2014 saw Pochettino, Lallana, Lambert, Lovren, Shaw & Chambers all leave. It was Reed and Krueger (not Cortese) who appointed Koeman and signed Mane, Pelle, Tadic, Bertrand, Alderweireld, van Dijk etc. That was the key to the 7th place of 2014/15 and the 6th place of 2015/16. I agree Reed and Krueger have messed up the last two seasons, but it is ridiculous to not look at the good work done after the departures in the summer of 2014 for 2014/15 & 2015/16.
  18. tbf to him... 2017/18 - he played in 38 Arsenal games 2016/17 - he played in 29 Premier League games
  19. Last summer window signing of Mario Lemina was a good buy.
  20. He was talking about in next 150+ years. If it can happen as recently as 2016, then why not before any of us get to the magical age of 200? I did not say it would definitely happen, or that it was likely to happen or would happen any time soon. But to completely write it off for such a large timescale is daft considering they were incredibly close as recently as 2 years ago rather than the distant past. Are you aware that Cortese left in 2014? The season we were 3 points from the Champions League was under Krueger & Reed.
  21. 10 hours later... (out of interest why do you cherry pick the ones that don't happen and not look at the good signings that have happened?)
  22. Why would media reports have any influence on what Leicester offer a player? Why would Leicester care in a negotiation what is happening in the press? It is irrelevant.
  23. I'm puzzled how you think bidding £25m for a player and losing him to a team like Leicester means the club are "stone broke". That is just nonsensical.
  24. So are you saying Eko is not reliable?
  25. Why? Under Mike Ashley they are hardly big spenders. Their record transfer is still below ours and their wage budget is likely to be as well.
