Lower League Player Options V Players From Abroad
Matthew Le God replied to Saint Billy's topic in The Saints
Far more sensible to judge a player on his own merits, not rule him in or out purely due to which club he has come from! -
A mere 13 minutes after the thread was started with this post... The Telegraph published this article... https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2018/05/18/mark-hughes-expected-announced-permanent-southampton-manager/amp/?__twitter_impression=true That is why it is hard to believe the opening post.

Cedric Soares - Official: Loaned to Arsenal
Matthew Le God replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
It appears Cedric is still first choice for Portugal, not Perreira. -
Glasgow to Nairobi communication...

What if you then aren't able to sell the players for whatever reason and you are lumbered with an inflated squad? Also cash flow problems can arise from doing it that way round.
-
Perhaps because it is the role of the club's media department to get as much positive coverage of the club to the largest audience as possible. They don't want to announce things at 4am, they want things when most people are listening to news/on the internet.
-
No as Clasie has not left the club.

I don't get many games, but this is definitely on the list for October 2018. The first RDR (not including Red Dead Revolver) in 2010 is one of the best games of all time. Red Dead Redemption Online should also be a lot of fun taking all the best bits from GTA online and setting them in the Wild West.

There would be a problem with wages unless Saints subsidise for a year or Davis agrees to a massive paycut. Rangers couldn't get remotely close to our pay structure.
-
Those are not the only options. I'd rather we sign a player on his own merits than making sweeping generalisations based on nationality.

No it isn't. He joined at 17 years old and played a season for Southampton academy's under 18s and then played for Southampton academy's under21/23s and then the first team. Sure Plymouth deserve credit for his development from 8 to 17, but laying for 3 different teams within Saints is 'coming through the ranks'.

What evidence do you have that Bertrand 1) has a bad attitude? 2) it was the reason for him not going to the World Cup?

St Mary's is added now...

He doesn't have to be unattached to join a club.

Summer 2018 - Other teams Manager/transfer business
Matthew Le God replied to Batman's topic in The Saints
I think you need to reread what I said. I didn't say the best teams in the Premier League were better than Spain's best teams, Barcelona & and the two Madrid sides are very good. I said the league overall has more depth to it, the bottom 14 Spanish club would struggle to compete with the bottom 14 English clubs financially. -
Ralph Krueger worries me! So much waffle, spin and bull****...

Are they aware Brexit is happening? The UK soon won't be in the EU, so sending non-EU players to Austria won't be a lot of use.

Bizarre they peddle the Ports-Myth of the 250,000. Man City have a vastly larger fanbase and their parade had 100,000... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-44114899

Does it? This was probably Bertrand's final chance for a World Cup spot gone, a move won't help him get one for 2022 and probably not the EUROs in 2020.
-
Delph & Young can also be used as midfielders. Plus England will likely play with 3 centre backks and 2 wing backs, so you need more defenders in your squad than a 4 man defence.
-
Danny "10 games in a season" Rose is? I'd also prefer Bertrand's defensive skills above Young or Delph.
