  1. Paddy Power appear to be the only bookmaker I can find with this market. They started Tuchel odds at 7/1 when someone asked them to do it on Twitter (now at 5/1), so where did you get 50/1? https://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-specials/southampton/next-permanent-manager
  2. Jan Hagen‏ @PortuBall 5m5 minutes agoMore O Jogo report this evening that Sporting have accepted a €14m offer(for 80% of the economic rights) from Newcastle on defender Rúben Semedo.
  3. Tuchel was effectively sacked, he didn't have a lot of choice over leaving Dortmund.
  4. I asked a series of questions, you failed to answer them fully with justifications, particularly the key one... Talk through how exactly... naming them would potentially cause any possible deal to break down or another club to beat us to them? I'm sure their agents would be putting their name around to other clubs regardless, so naming them wouldn't make a difference. If one of the names is Tuchel, what is the point withholding that? The likes of Crystal Palace for example who are also looking for a new manager would be fully aware Tuchel is available. Nothing you have said has really added to the thread, it is far to vague and wishy washy until you start naming names.
  5. He was the manager for one of the biggest clubs in world football, he isn't particularly obscure.
  6. If you are telling the truth, I'm struggling to think how you have a good reason not to name them. 1) What harm would naming them on a fans forum do? 2) How would naming potentially cause any possible deal to break down or another club to beat us to them? I'm sure their agents would be putting their name around regardless so naming them wouldn't make a difference? 3) If you did name them, would it really be traced back to you personally and would the repercussions really matter in any meaningful way? Saying " I know the two names, you don't" isn't really adding anything meaningful to the debate. Plus makes it sound like you probably don't know them as there is little reason not to tell us.
  7. Would be a pleasant surprise, but I don't think it is completely inconceivable. Who'd have thought Benitez would slum it in the Championship for a season? Where else in Europe can Tuchel go this summer? Not a lot of choice. Saints probably his best option for a move to the Premier League this summer as none of the big clubs have vacancies. If he does well for 2 years he can get the Arsenal job in 2019. The Saints board were willing to offer Koeman a wage of £86,000 per week according to the Telegraph. That is a large wage in world football, if they (and possible new owners) show some ambition, Tuchel would be a great choice.
  8. We had a training camp in France with Nigel Adkins. The training camp location doesn't have to be connected to the manager in any way.
  9. I'm puzzled why anyone sane would think we'd have to pay them? The more likely scenario would be us reducing the price they have to pay us so that he goes, possibly to £0.
  10. :mcinnes: Hard to know where to start with this nonsense. It would be very unusual for a Premier League club to have more than 2 home friendlies in a summer. Quite often it is one. Home friendlies rarely have a big attendance, so I'm struggling to see how you think not turning up to a friendly in late July or early August is suddenly going to make the board think they should sack the manager days away from the start of the season.
  11. At no point in my post did I say we didn't make a lot of money. The point you keep strangely ignoring & repeating the same nonsense time after time even after it has be rebutted, is there are some clubs in our league that have a lot more money than us. You are delusional if you think long term we will keep our players if they are wanted by those clubs. We are never going to be at the top of the transfer pecking order in world football. We will lose players if richer clubs want them, the same happens to every club apart from a tiny, tiny handful.
  12. Spurs, Arsenal, Liverpool, Man Utd, Man City & Chelsea all have incomes and wage budgets significantly larger than us. Not sure why I'm bothering to tell you this for the 1,000th time, but you are both delusional if you think we will keep top players forever. Football has a transfer pecking order, Saints are never going to be at the top of it. It is a good thing that the top clubs want our players, it shows we have a high quality of player. I'd be more concerned if the top clubs didn't want to sign our players as that would suggest we've had a big drop in quality. It surely isn't hard to grasp that we will sell our top players, we simply don't have the income to offer them long term what they can get at some of the richest clubs in the world. Fffs though, it is not as if under Les Reed et al we've done badly, this seaosn was the 4th in a row in the top 8 of the world's highest profile league. It is painful day after day reading your nonsense Heisenberg. You "points" get rebutted time after time, you ignore the rebuttals and trot out the same nonsense a few days later. I'm confused as to why you post or read this forum, you seem to take joy from creating an endless stream of negative dribble! Look at the bigger picture and alongside 1980-85, 2012 to 2017 is the second golden spell in the history of Southampton football club!!! It is along with the early 1980s is the best time it has ever been to be a SOuthampton fan in terms of league performance over a sustained period of now 4 seasons in a row.
  13. :mcinnes::mcinnes: (not enough facepalms in the world for you Heisenberg!!!) You complain like a broken record for years that Saints lack ambition, then you claim Gary Monk would be an "excellent appointment"!
  14. I struggle to see how you think me saying that means I am distancing myself from the thread. I was replying to someone making a remark about me "going from ground expansion to super restaurants". All I've done is post designs commissioned by the club on both occasions. As I've already pointed out, the first and last picture at the start of this thread indicate the "West Stand" is potentially going to see development from 2021. Seriously just FO. It is pathetic how you keep bringing up the same nonsense time after time, even though it has been refuted and you ignore it and bring it up again. That thread was based at a time when Cortese was in charge, the management structure changed so the development was affected. It is pathetic the way you keep dragging this up time after time even though all this has been pointed out to you time after time. That doesn't make me "Mr Wrong" as you pathetically and childishly like to claim. All I did was report what at the time looked to be the club managements plans. But things change, that doesn't mean I was "wrong". So grow up ffs!
  15. Why have you said "you"? How bizarre. Plus you conveniently ignore in the very first picture in this thread it states West Stand development from 2021. In the final picture it says ""finally, we turn our attention to the West Stand". All the other stuff is in the East Stand as they call it.
  16. Lander have a background in developments of sports stadia. Below are possibly Katharina Liebherr's and Lander's plans for St Mary's stadium in the coming years... (delay possibly due to the takeover taking longer than expected)
  17. They seem to only look at the league place of 8th. Not the small points total, lack of goals at home and big drop off from the last 3 years or 56, 60 & 63 points.
  18. - to entertain the season ticket holders? - to score more than 17 league goals in 19 home games? - to have a bigger gap than 6 points from 17th place? None of which Puel managed to do.
  19. 1) Pitt-Brooke said Silva prefers us over Watford 2) Wilson says Saints don't have Silva on their list That is not a contradiction, as both can be true.
  20. [h=2][/h] He hasn't been quite as bad as some make out. But I've changed my mind... I think it'll be better if he goes in the coming days.
  21. He hasn't been quite as bad as some make out. But I've changed my mind... I think it'll be better if he goes in the coming days.
  22. Are you talking about the 2014 interview, or a recent one?
  23. What would be more relevant to the current situation, would be win % in the Premier League. But even that would still be a flawed way to look at things. Win % in Premier League Adkins - 22% Puel - 32%
  24. Tonight's result... Leicester 1 - Tottenham 6 Means Saints are guaranteed a top half finish. That is now 4 top half finishes in a row... 2013/14 - 8th 2014/15 - 7th 2015/16 - 6th 2016/17 - 8th or 9th or 10th (Bournemouth & Leicester can't both win on Sunday as they play each other)
