No it isn't. They haven't built phase 2 of Staplewood yet. This extension to the main pavillion has planning permission but construction hasn't started...
-
It would be foolish to stop a transfer just because a player will miss August & September. He is on a contract until 2021. Take a step back from the tree and look at the wood as the club have done. p.s. it hasn't been the Premiership since 2007
-
You haven't managed it yet! The top flight of English football was last called the Premiership 9 years ago in 2007.

It is probably best we didn't start turning on our players after press rumours. From the man himself on social media...

Of course it is goals and winning that matters. But our performances really haven't been as bad as some have been making out. We've dominated possession in all 3 games, had a lot of shots on goal and not had many on our goal. I don't think we are far away from really clicking and adding Boufal to the side should increase our attacking threat.

One in... One out - Why is that an issue?

Yes I do, but you conveniently forget those occasions as it doesn't fit the narrative. But would you agree the club are likely to be thinking along similar lines to what I suggested? -

I covered that in the first sentence of the opening post. -
Boufal - Mané Højbjerg - Wanyama Redmond - Juanmi McCarthy - Stekelenburg Taylor - Davis Austin* - Pellè Pied** - Martina Some Saints fans claim "all we are doing is replacing", but... you are only allowed 25 senior players. What is the alternative to replacing players one in, one out when you can't use senior player 26 or 27? Why are people so quick to dismiss the possibility that for example Boufal, Redmond & Højbjerg may be improvements. Seems extremely premature to rule that out so soon after they've arrived. People also say "upgrade Yoshida and/or Gardos. But is that really that easy to do? Centre backs unlike other positions are less likely to have rotation, you would want van Dijk and Fonte playing 90 minutes. It is therefore difficult to attract a better player than two internationals like Yoshida/Gardos who would be happy to play second fiddle to van Dijk and Fonte. Grades was back in training before the Man Utd game and is 4th choice, with multiple promising young academy centre backs below him. * the club told Jeremy Wilson in the Telegraph that Austin signing was pre-empting Pellè's departure ** injured so Martina possibly staying

How do "decent Championship strikers" score 18 Premier League goals for a dreadful QPR relegated team that created few chances for him? -
Pompey fans say they are protesting in this years Football League Trophy due to Premier League academies participating. But the last home game they had in the competition was attended by a mere 5,853 vs Northampton in 2014/15. Were they protesting in that game as well?

If we beat Inter at St Mary's and/or San Siro, will Pompey fans shut up about the 3-3 draw with AC Milan using players they never fully paid for? Probably not. -
It is hard to take them too seriously when Sky say things like... - Puel left Lille in 2008 - Boufal joined Lille in 2015 7 years difference!

We've had important deals late in the window in recent seasons... Mane - signed by Saints 1st September 2014 Alderweireld - signed by Saints 1st September 2014 van Dijk - signed by Saints 1st September 2015 Bedwetters on this forum write off signings in July and early August when window is still open. Of course Saints would like the deals done earlier from their perspective, but it isn't always as easy as that as deals involve multiple parties with different agendas. -
Jim White and his might Sky sources have spoken... Jim White @JimWhite 16h16 hours ago #SaintsFC close to agreeing fee for Lille's attacking midfielder Sofiane Boufal.

We already have signed Martina's replacement... Jeremy Pied. Pied signing knocked Martina down to 3rd choice and you don't need 3 senior right backs in your squad. If you had three senior players for every position you'd have a squad of thirty three! We also have Yan Valery coming through who looks very promising.

Hojbjerg is the Wanyama replacement, he is 6 foot 1. -
He really wasn't, if anything it is the opposite with a lot of Saints fans. Martina is a very limited player technically and was living off the Arsenal goal. Cedric is significantly better and Pied's arrival moved Martina down to 3rd in the pecking order. Plus 17 year old Yan Valery looks very promising in the under 23 squad.

The Telegraph said we offered Koeman £86,000 per week. Ok, Everton offer more, but not many others can and do. Shows the club have budgeted a significant wage for a manager.

We get more than an extra day rest compared to Sunderland, they still have two games to play before we play them. Sunderland play Middlesbrough on Sunday and a 2nd round League Cup game on Wednesday. -

If we were in pot 1 we wouldn't have to play another pot 1 team. That would make the group easier for us, as generally the pot 1 teams are better.
