Its still quite a push to list him as part of a 1st team squad at the moment. He is only 16 years old, played a lot for the under 18's last season but hasn't established himself in the under 21's team. If you are going to include Stephens, McCarthy, Hesketh and Gallagher, then why not Seager, McQueen, Turnbull, Mugabi and Gape etc? They are all too young to be listed in the 25 man squad anyway.

We are in need of a centre back, but where else are you both suggesting we are short? We probably won't be signing another central midfielder until a deal for Schneiderlin is looking likely. We have a lot of attacking players now and Koeman appears to have indicated he is happy in that regard.

The club appear to think they have a good legal case that all we had to pay is £6.8m as Madrid missed the deadline. If that is the price you contractually believe you need to pay, then why roll over have your belly tickled and pay more?

Give it enough time and at some point Saints will sign a player for £20m. Might not be that many years away, especially with a huge rise in TV money from 2016/17 onwards.

He can play in the same CM position, but his role would be different.

Where do you think Rodriguez is going to play then? Because if you don't see him going out wide and he'll play centrally, then I guess you don't think we need another striker. Mane, Long, Elia and Tadic all cut inside in Koeman's system.

Not going to answer my question then? In terms of assists, only Tadic had more for us. So how was Ward-Prowse ineffective? Plus in any case, Reed and Ward-Prowse play in different roles and are each better than the other at different things.

How many other 20 year olds can you name that had 6 assists in the Premier League last season?

Would the club look to potentially block the pathway for Reed and Ward-Prowse?

Why do they have to be exactly the same type of player? How do you think Juanmi differs from Elia? Juanmi has played on the left as an attacking player. Elia was often used on the left, that is where Rodriguez was so effective in 2013/14 and has now returned. Plus we still don't know for sure what is happening with Ramirez; with him, Rodriguez and Juanmi added to the squad we'd be +1 in numbers in terms of attacking players. Plus Gallagher is fit again and Seager is progressing well.

In terms of attacking players it may have balanced out already... 2014/15 squad - Djuricic & Elia 2015/16 squad - Rodriguez & Juanmi (plus potentially Ramirez)

No he didn't, he started 31 out of 34 league games in 2014/15 in the Eredivisie. He played in 32 out of 34 league games for their first team.
