Cuco Martina - Signs Two Year Deal (Official)
Matthew Le God replied to mcbendy's topic in The Saints
Koeman confirmed he is interested in him and that its close to happening. -
Supposed to start at 2:30pm...
-
News doesn't get better than this, the backdrop to the 2015/16 Staplewood press conferences...
-
Any more details on this? Cuco Martina one of them?
-
If they are using "expect" then that is different from "he will sign".
-
Saints have the structures and systems in place to improve, as they have done for the last 6 years. Their record over that time should give both yourself and Alpine more confidence in the club. From League One to within 2 points of Liverpool was achieved in a very short time. They clearly know what they are doing.
-
What is the exact wording they are using?
-
How did Liverpool pillaging work out last time? I've already covered it here as the gap between us closed significantly.
-
The "next level" Alpine suggests is challenging for the top 6. Something we clearly did last season as we were only 2 points away from 6th. How is that not challenging? All it needed was one draw to be a win and our vastly superior goal difference would put us above Liverpool. That is not the insurmountable glass ceiling Alpine makes it out to be... it is 2 points! We also scored more goals than Liverpool and conceded significantly less.
-
Us to continue wisely in the transfer market as we have for the last 6 years of Liebherr ownership. Which has seen us rise from 68th to 7th in England and close the gap significantly to Spurs and Liverpool.
-
Is it? We were a mere 2 points from 6th, 4 points from 5th. How is that not competing for the top 6? The gap between the sides last season was small and not insurmountable.
-
No he didn't, it can easily be picked apart for the nonsense it is. As I did in post #36
-
Intolerable? Really? intolerable adjective unable to be endured Are you really unable to endure the football team you claim to support finishing 7th with 60 points? Their highest league position for 25 years and achieving European football. We were 2 points away from 6th, 4 points away from 5th. How is that not contending for the top 6? How is a mere 2 point gap insurmountable? You say we are "unwilling" to make the step up, yet under Liebherr ownership have risen from 68th to 7th in England (2 points away from 6th) in the space of 6 years. You were a doom merchant last summer (as you always are), and yet Saints just had their most successful ever season in the Premier League. You thought last summer we were looted, but ended up with a better squad and closed the gap significantly on Spurs and Liverpool.

In order for a transfer to happen the player has to agree to it.
-
He was on loan, so that isn't true. A "buy back" clause is when you sell a player and have an option to by him back at a set price.
-
Why? The majority of people that follow football would expect him to prefer a move to Spurs over Saints. So if that actually happens, why would we be a laughing stock for merely trying to enforce a legal contract we had with A. Madrid? Its not our fault they may have ****ed up, and I see no problem with us taking issue with them messing us around.
-
May even have been a problem due to it being lost in translation between Spanish and English.
-
Wouldn't the deadline A.Madrid missed have been relatively recently?
-
Why? Its not Southampton's fault A.Madrid appear to have messed up and breached a contract they signed.
-
Madrid may have messed up... Simon Peach @SimonPeach 13s13 seconds ago #SaintsFC are expecting to sign Toby Alderweireld after Atletico Madrid failed to cancel the buy-out clause in time, PA Sport understands.
-
Its not really a "best bits" video, it shows all his touches in one game vs Ajax.
-
Okay... lets try to pick this apart... Wonder what about the board? Did last summer not show to you they know what they are doing? Over confident about what? Even if we have an offer accepted, it is then for the player to decide and Spurs can offer higher wages than us.
