  1. You haven't even seen Gaston Ramirez or Maya Yoshida play for Saints yet and you start a thread like this...
  2. I'm "in the minority" and being a "tool" for simply suggesting someone doesn't deserve to be punched in the face for cheering a goal of an away team in the corporate areas? What has happened here is no-one else has bothered to say what a bunch of idiots you all are to condone such behaviour. Hardly mature to go around punching people in the face merely for cheering a goal. It is a criminal offence to punch someone in the face and should be dealt with as such. Everyone that has stated they condone such behaviour in this thread really needs to take a long hard look at their moral compasses!
  3. An "expected outcome", doesn't make it right though does it? Punched for celebrating a goal amongst rival fans! It is a criminal act yet a large number in this thread think it is fine.
  4. I'm amazed so many of you condone violence for something which less face it is hardly serious. Yes, what he did was daft, but that doesn't mean he should be physically assaulted!
  5. By using the phrase "great prospect", it is a reference to his age. So not such a silly statement.
  6. Not whilst he is in hospital it isn't. Would you apply the same to Ward-Prowse? I wouldn't, so I wouldn't write off Shaw this season solely on age.
  7. I thought they would do this... Jordan Sibley ‏@jordansibley Great to be hosting Utd in a league game at long last, St Mary's is a hive of activity already. Plan to unveil Ramirez pre-match #SaintsFC
  8. Top tier was full, as was the front of the lower tier. It was only the back of the lower tier that had empty seats, looked worse when we scored with camera panning onto our fans and everyone rushed to the front leaving gaps behind. Journalists in build up to the game said 2,500 sold as of a couple of days beforehand. Did you see QPR at Man City yesterday? In the lower tier they were even confined to one block as they didn't get remotely near filling the allocation. I wonder what Flyer thinks of that...
  9. Not true, we sold over 2,500 of the 2,800 allocation.
  10. I think its safe to assume every Saints player would love to play against them and Chaplow is behind Lallana, Davis, Schneiderlin, Cork and Ward-Prowse in the pecking order for a central midfield role.
  11. The Daily Star have a history of making up complete rubbish... http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/greenslade/2010/jul/24/dailystar-medialaw
  12. FM13 as a Saints fan is going to be a lot of fun.
  13. You can't really call 4231 a variation of 433, which is what Adkins constantly refers to the formation he is currently using as. I haven't said we wouldn't use 4231 in the future or that I wouldn't want to see it. On the face of it Ramirez seems ideal for the 10 role in a 4231, he even has the shirt!
  14. They appear how much we hate Harry! Would be like McLeish to Villa x100! Tomorrow's Daily Star...
  15. And you wonder why people find it hard to take you seriously...?
  16. Today was the game of the "free" tickets for kids that they won in the summer NPower competition by flooding Twitter with nonsense. So today's meagre attendance was actually boosted by a large number of school kids on a free day out. £30,000 = ALOT of free tickets handed out in that crowd of 12,635
  17. Chaplow is below Ward-Prowse in the pecking order.
  18. Cortese has plans for 50,000 seats, so he isn't on the same hymn sheet as you.
  19. One game? What about when Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs, Newcastle, Liverpool, Everton, Man City etc etc roll into town?
  20. Well if Yeovil were in the Premier League, they would also need a stadium bigger than their current ground which holds under 10,000. They'd have to give a large number of tickets to away fans and have not many left for Yeovil fans for all 19 home games. And you call my argument futile...
  21. Why are so many teams looking to expand capacity or relocate then? Cortese clearly thinks it is a worthwhile avenue to explore given his comments and very early plans for St Mary's. The image of St Mary's show it isn't just about extra seats it is a development of the entire area and that brings in extra revenue. it also increases the profile of the club for sponsorship, merchandising, advertising and corporate revenues. With financial fair play rules it makes sense to provide a seat for those fans that want to come rather than turn them away because you don't have the capacity. The outlay on construction doesn't count in FFP, plus you get the benefit of the additional income to play with in other areas and help build the fanbase. Tomorrow anyone wanting to bring the next generation of Saints fans to watch Saints vs Man Utd can't, as we sold out the 29,000 available home end tickets.
  22. Saints will have a similar number of home fans (29,000) vs Man Utd tomorrow as Man Utd will fill the away end which Wigan didn't. Do you honestly think the same number of Saints fans are interested in going to the Wigan game as they are for the Man Utd game? The 32,000 capacity is restricting us, the Man Utd game sold out a while ago, more would have gone if they could.
  23. 29,604 during holiday time against the least attractive opponent in the league. If Wigan had actually filled the 3,000 seater away end like the majority of other Premier League sides will this season then the attendance would have been over 31,000. If anything it shows the support is strong, if we can get 29,000 Saints fans for the least attractive game, we should be able to get alot more for the more attractive games.
  24. Cortese has it very much in his plans. He has delivered a lot so far... - Who would have thought we'd go from League One in 2010 to the Premier League in 2012? - Who would have thought we'd spend £30m this summer? - Who would have thought we'd spend £12m on one of the hottest young talents in European football? - Who would have thought we'd spend £15m on a training ground development? So when we see admittedly very early intital plans for something like this it seems foolish to rule it out completely...
  25. As a Premier League team Saints can't loan anyone until January 2013. That was only an option when we were a Football League club.
