How much time and effort do you think is involved in merely staying in transfer talks for one player? It is not me being "utterly mental", you are the one that without knowing any of what is really going on is demanding the club pull out no matter what the situation currently is.

If Liverpool and Saints both have a bid accepted, he'll goto Liverpool. If just Saints do, then I think he may come to us. If we have had a bid accepted, I think he should at least meet with Cortese and Pochettino to see what they have to say, rather than dismissing us outright.

Even if we don't end up getting him, if the £10.2m bid from Saints is true, it shows a) we have big money to spend this window and b) we are looking for players in his position and of his quality. We'd probably move onto another similar target if knocked back.

I think he was expecting Barcelona in January to be 30c. They are currently training in sunny Spain at Barcelona's training ground and the Olympic stadium with temperatures 10c warmer than they would have at Staplewood, so he can't complain too much.
