He may well be quicker, but that isn't what got him his 15 league goals. Holt would be beaten for pace by a large number of Premier League defenders so relies on other attributes, in the same way Lambert does.
-
How many of Holt's league goals last season do you think came down to beating a Premier League defender for pace? A number of Lambert come about due to his clever movement away from centre-backs and onto fullback's to beat them in the air at the far post on diagonals. No matter how good a defender the likes of Ashley Cole are, Lambert will beat him in the air every time. Pace also not required for his superb free-kicks and penalty taking ability, nor his long range shots and good passing, first touch and vision.

How did Grant Holt become the Premier League's 2nd highest English scorer last season (8th overall in the League with 15 league goals)? Not that I like to compare Holt with Lambert (as I think Lambert has more to his game than Holt), but both lack pace.
-
Well they would be misguided if they thought that, because Burnley didn't have a bid accepted by Chelsea, so Cork didn't have a choice to make between the two clubs.

I'm taking a strange degree of pleasure from it. Is that wrong? He keeps saying he doesn't care, yet he keeps replying. Something doesn't correlate there!

He's found me out for what many on here knew years ago.

Guly Do Prado, De Ridder and even Lallana can be used "up front". -
If undisclosed at Saints end, I think Burnley will let it slip in order to justify it to their fanbase. Especially as new joint chairman have only just been appointed and this will be seen as their first actions whilst in charge.
-
On what is that based?

He didn't answer my question then. What should I ask him now?

In the last 10 years, 36 English clubs have gone into administration, many others have had to delay wages, numerous others are perilously close to administration and English clubs as a collective have huge debts.

He joined in 1980 and left in 1982. Saints were only promoted to the top flight in 1978 (a mere two years before Keegan joined) and the 2nd place finish in 1983/84 came after Keegan left. Keegan was 29/30 when he signed and close to his peak, Messi at 24 years old probably isn't at his peak yet (a scary thought).

The managing director at Accrington Stanley likes my solution... Robert Heys @robheys @MatthewLeGod I really like that https://twitter.com/#!/robheys 1 down, 71 Football League clubs to go. Everyone retweet this and lets see if we can get more of the 72 clubs interested...

Insist that all debt is paid back 100% to football creditors and non football creditors. Rather than a CVA being 20% over 5 years like at Pompey, make it 100% over 20 years.
-
When Keegan joined Saints he was the current European footballer of the year. Del Piero is 37 years old (38 in November) and although he was a superb player, he is very much on the decline.

They will struggle to get an academy status above level 4 under the EPPP if they can't find a decent training ground and fund the academy. Level 4 would restrict them to only signing 16 to 18 years olds for the academy. Age groups below that would have to be disbanded, now where could decent kids from their academy and Portsmouth's catchment area go...?

If the FCR didn't exist, clubs would be less likely to spread the payments of transfers over many years as happens with a very high % of transfers. They would want the money upfront in order to reduce their risk if the other club went into admin. That would probably drive down transfer fees and reduce the debts of most football clubs over a long time as clubs adjust.
