They mainly want rid of him because he is on £40k - £50k per week. Hence Hull have been looking for any excuse to end that deal asap. I bet if he was on £15k p/w they would overlook whatever he did (within reason) and wouldn't be trying to cancel his contract. In any case, where would he fit into the Saints squad? And at 32 years old with huge wage demands, he doesn't exactly fit the profile for Saints signings.

Paul Jewell says otherwise.

Lets play a game! Spot when Rupert Lowe left, the club went into administration and relegation to League One was (more or less) confirmed...? 2008/09 3rd Feb Sheff Utd 13,257 21st Feb Preston 14,790 28th Feb Cardiff 18,526 10th Mar Derby 17,567 14th Mar QPR 18,691 4th April Charlton 27,228 13th April Palace 23,220 23th April Burnley 23,927 Still think there was no protest Corporate Ho? When Pompey went into admin in the league above the crowds plummeted to 16k (or 14k home fans) at Fratton Park, whilst playing Premier League teams in a 20k stadium! After administration, Pompey in the Premier League...! vs Hull 16,513 vs Blackburn 16,207 vs Aston Villa 16,523 Even a game against Chelsea only saw roughly 16k Pompey fans in a crowd of 18,753! I don't know why you and other Pompey fans think Saints have had "it easy" and only a short period of trouble. From 2004 to 2009 the club was in a total mess. That is quite a long period!

Football Manager 2012 - Announced!

- Chamberlain starts FM11 with one of the highest ratings for a player of his age in the world. He also has an extremely good potential rating. - Lallana starts FM11 as one of the best players in League One and also has a very high potential rating. If they don't fulfil their potential, that down to numerous factors. I've seen them both do very well in the Premier League in FM11. -
On the gate price for all Saints league games is £32 in the Itchen/Kingsland centre stands and the Torquay game cost £14. Haven't Pompey got categories this season, so some games will cost less than £32 on the day of the game? You really can't use that as an excuse for why Pompey get 11k home fans and Saints get 23k home fans. Nor can you blame the economy, as it is the same for both sets of fans.

Football Manager 2012 - Announced!

I have, yes. Along with the improvements to the training and youth facilities at Staplewood, it should make managing Saints a lot of fun this year! -
How much have you seen of them all? Until you have, it can't be described as ridiculous (or even rediculous as you put it). You have to take each player on their merits, Rodriguez is very highly regarded and is over 5 years younger than both CMS and Beckford and thus has potentially greater sell on value/years left of his career to remain at Saints. CMS and Beckford on the other hand are already in their peak years and probably don't have much room to improve. In any case, we don't know that the £6m banded about is even correct!

Football Manager 2012 - Announced!

It is a football management simulation. May I ask what you were expecting to see in a football management simulation? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? The Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeasts sweeping majestically across... There are over 800 new features in FM12 things to play with, over there between the land and the sky! -
Ipswich build up. Let's tear them a new one.

What result on Saturday in the Ipswich vs Hull game would have helped our cause? You could twist a win/lose/draw anyway you want to put a negative spin on it. -
Ipswich manager Paul Jewell reveals...

I thought the same. It is a bit like a Sky TV advert/intro covering the Premier League in the early 90's. -
- Ipswich Town made a bid for Rickie Lambert this summer (quite why they thought they would be successful in that I don't know! ) - Saints made a £4m bid for Jay Rodriguez earlier in the summer (Ipswich were also interested in him) - Preview of tonights game Watch interview in full here (using your Saints Player login) The juicy bits about Lambert and Rodriguez are from 6:45 onwards... http://www.itfc.co.uk/articles/20110816/kick-off-saints_2263996_2421188/0,,10272~2421188~1,00.html

Football Manager 2012 - Announced!
Matthew Le God replied to Matthew Le God's topic in Computer Games
No it can't. For example the transfer centre in FM12 is very different (and a lot easier to use)... As are the squad depth, tactical analysis, dashboard and team comparisons screens. -
How can you ruin a thread that had little place to go, due to being based on unsubstantiated rumours?
-
Nothing in that article provides any real evidence to support a) or b).
-
That isn't the impression you give in the opening post. In fact you seem quite sure. You have jumped to a lot of conclusions based on unsubstantiated rumours, and then started a thread based on those conclusions.

Matthew Le God replied to Matthew Le God's topic in Computer Games
That isn't a formation from the tactics screen. That is to give you an overview of the rankings of players in your squad in each position. For example if you click on the centre back as they have in the screenshot, it will then list all players in your squad that can play as a centre back and list them in order of how good they are. -
How do you know with such certainly that.. a) Rodriguez is being considered by Saints as a signing b) Burnley have valued him at £5m c) He isn't worth that (have you seen him play much?)
-
The interview is already available in full on Saints Player, went up over an hour ago. He doesn't really say a lot apart from his usual cliches and no comment about transfer speculation (which is entirely understandable). http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/articles/20110815/nigels-duel-with-jewell_2264122_2421127/0,,10280~2421127~1,00.html

Seaborne was injured for the Leeds United game. Seaborne was ahead of Martin in the pecking order last season, and it seems it hasn't change this season. Will be interesting to see if Jaidi is still ahead of Seaborne when he returns to full fitness. Last season pecking order for centre backs... 1) Fonte 2) Jaidi 3) Seaborne 4) Martin This season you can't work out positions 2-4 until Jaidi returns, but what we do know is... 1) Fonte ?) Seaborne above Martin ?) Jaidi's place in pecking order unknown apart from it is below Fonte
