  1. 8 Premier League clubs including Spurs are represented at Wycombe tonight.
  2. Yep, he was deflated at the news a puncture would cut short his career.
  3. The scouting department as it stands at the moment... Senior Recruitment Officer Bill Green Scouting Administrator Emily Webb Performance Analyst Tom Stockwell Youth Recruitment Officer Rod Ruddick Academy Recruitment Scout Chris Welman Analyst Stephen Corns Analyst Andrew Stone This doesn't include the numerous other scouts that the club also employ and come under the wing of Ruddick (senior scouting) and Welman (academy scouting). They must be looking for someone new to lead the European scouting as well. Paul Mitchell is a former professional footballer, it is unlikely he is going to be recruiting office and catering staff at Saints.
  4. You've lost me. You are saying Saints should follow Norwich's example, but Saints in 2011/12 have done better in the first 25 games than Norwich did in the first 25 games of 2010/11. Maybe Paul Lambert should have used a Tardis and followed Cortese/Adkins example
  5. Saints currently have 4 more points than Norwich did after 25 games last season. Your logic is flawed. You certainly have been posting a lot of baiting posts in quick succession this evening.
  6. What are you counting as "kids"? Ben Reeves is 20 years old, Ryan Doble turns 21 next month. They haven't been in the academy for a long time now. Yes they haven't played alot, but they aren't much younger than Lallana, Cork and Schneiderlin.
  7. I think some of you are underestimating the Saints wage bill. I'm led to understand Fox is on circa £20k p/w. Players like Lambert, Fonte, Cork, Lallana all on recent contracts with all be on more than that probably upto £25k p/w. The Japanese press have reported Tadanari Lee is going to be on £15k rising to £23k p/w if promoted.
  8. They were on a Saturday in 2010/11, Sunday 2009/10, Sunday 2008/09, Sunday 2007/08 It was changed last season back to a Saturday finish for the Championship.
  9. Bradford City - Better stadium than Fratton Park, larger city, similar number of home fans going to games with Pompey despite being in a League Two relegation fight Bristol City - Close(ish) to getting a new stadium, larger city Coventry City - New stadium already built, don't own it but could buy it cheaper than the cost of a new stadium Pompey need, larger city There are a number of others I could include in the list as better ways to spend money in a football club. None of them have a CVA to pay, Gaydamak/Chainrai in the background, Pompey don't own a training ground and have a possible points deduction looming. You have to question the motives of any "businessman" that chooses to invest in Pompey when there are better options available! Which is why Pompey have been passed from crook to crook since 1999.
  10. It is every 10 appearances Saints have to pay £25k, upto 40 appearances. Also Saints have already paid £25k to Brentford due to promotion and there is a 20% sell on clause. http://www.brentfordfc.co.uk/page/LatestNews/0,,10421~2108883,00.html
  11. He said "Harding, who Nige seems to thinks can do no wrong". If he can "do no wrong" then he wouldn't be second choice left back.
  12. Harding isn't the first choice left back, Fox is.

  14. Just to add to what Saints_clark said, it also wasn't a funeral.
  15. Like they were for all four seasons at St Mary's in the Premier League?
  16. Can you seriously not see what is wrong with making sweeping generalisations?
  17. QPR with a 45k seater stadium. You are averaging 17,025 in the Premier League at the moment and often don't sell out. Yes, I know tickets are expensive, but even so that doesn't suggest 45k is likely to be achievable. If you think QPR need a 45k stadium, how big do you think Saints could extend St Mary's who are currently averaging over 26,097 in the 2nd tier at the moment?
  18. I think that is unlikely as it could easily be shown to be false by the club, would end up doing him more harm than good. No club announces on their website every staff appointment.
  19. Bill Green had gone to Leicester City from Saints last January. Now a year later he is back!
  20. Interesting, I'll have to add him again. Anyone with a Bristol City programme tell me exactly what it said?
  21. So we now know Jakob Friis-Hansen actually joined Saints. http://www.bold.dk/nyt/Friis-Hansen-stoppet-i-Southampton Looking back to the original article his comments remain interesting... "The club is owned by the Liebherr family. They are incredibly rich and are aware that it will cost money. On short terms the goal is Premier League, but on the longer term they also want to play in the Champions League and be part of the top clubs in England. With their fortune backing them up they are about the fifth richest club in England, so it is realistic and there is a willingness to expand the academy, the facilities and the stadium if necessary." http://www.bold.dk/nyt/Friis-Hansen-skal-hjaelpe-Saints-i-PrL

  23. I doubt that has any bearing on things what so ever.
  24. Cheers, useful info. Likely to have been responsible for spotting Steve De Ridder and the dutch keeper Robin Ruiter that Saints have been linked with you would think. Possibly many others that Saints now know about aswell.
