All five of them have a great deal of experience at Championship level. The defence is actually the department where Saints have the most experience at a higher level. You can add Frazer Richardson to those five as he has also played 100+ game at CHampionship level.

As I said earlier, it is a random person photoshopping...
-
Nothing in any way substantiated. Plus it is now officially the 2011/12 season and the club is back to using the badge it used before the anniversary on the website.
-
It isn't real though.
-
It is a photoshop of this 4 year old PSG Nike shirt. You can see both shirts have exactly the same creases and the changes on the sleeves, umbro badge, Saints badge and aap3 aren't well done.

He only has 252 posts. He doesn't really have a reputation for anything, until now for being a bull****ter.

Or he made it up.

Deserves a week ban for "making" me listen to Radio Solent for over an hour.
-
Unlikely to bring in two strikers, with Barnard, Lambert, Connolly and Do Prado already at the club that would make six and top heavy. So it wouldn't be Mellor (as Lambert cover) and a player to play with Lambert, it will just be an expensive strike partner similar(ish) to Sharp.
-
If Billy Sharp had signed, Saints wouldn't be putting a £3.25m striker as "cover". He'd be starting pretty much every game. As Sharp didn't sign, I think it is reasonable to assume the club is looking for other strikers at a similar or greater value who would also go straight into the starting XI.
-
Rare for a signing to be announced on a weekend. Few people would be at St Mary's and importantly the FA's offices would be closed, so the player can't be officially registered and deal formally concluded. Any deal would have to be done in the week and then a delayed announcement until the weekend.

That must be a worrying feeling for you.

Not at all, I want to know what was said as the opening post doesn't say much. Nor has anyone else mentioned they heard what was said.
-
Lallana from Bournemouth. Still owe them 25% of any fee if we ever sell him. A huge percentage of youth players move around. Just look at the 15 new 1st year scholars Saints took on this summer, a number were at other club from 8 to 16 years old.
-
Apart from the opening poster in this thread, did anyone else actually hear this on BBC Radio Solent? What exactly did they say? I've been listening to Solent now for the last 40 minutes. They say there is an interview with Adkins coming up, which will be the one that was on Saints Player yesterday about Cork, maybe they will mention it after that.

More reliable than the News of the World.

- Monk has been a Championship regular for a number of years (and captained a team promoted to the Premier League). - Seaborne has never played above League One, and has a number of weaknesses (particularly in the air and positionally). I'll admit I haven't seen much of Monk in recent years, but I doubt you have either. I still however think it unlikely Seaborne is as good as Monk or "much better" as you put it. There is no "u" in Seaborne btw
-
We can count him in our starting XI as an academy product, along with Lallana and Chamberlain.
-
They aren't in the Championship anymore. He was good enough to captain them to promotion however.
-
He is 32 years old. Captain of a newly promoted Premier League side as well.
-
If true, I would guess either Martin will be loaned out or Seaborne sold.
-
Because as you said, we could do a lot better. Pointless signing another striker early in the window for the sake of it. Buy one because he is an improvement on what we have, hence the interest in players of the calibre of Billy Sharp, who is proven at Championship level.

The assist stat is not the be all and end all. What about the pass before the assist? Could that not have been key in the build up? Schneiderlin's job to sit just in front of the centre backs, win the ball and set up attacks in the early stages of a move. A job he does very well imo.

43 games is quite often isn't it? 20 goals in 43 games is still a very good record, but I think Saints could do much better. Jack Cork is an indication of the standard of player Adkins wants to bring in. There is quite a gap between making bids for Billy Sharp of £3.25m and then bidding for Neil Mellor, thus I don't think it is true.
