  1. Yes, that the story is from 14 years ago! 16th December 1997... http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football-former-rock-singer-and-american-property-tycoon-seek-portsmouth-talks-1289169.html
  2. Hopefully on the day he actually signs, this thread can be used for sensible discourse.
  3. Do they go to sea in a beautiful pea green boat?
  4. Do the "serious cats" eat the "curious owls"?
  5. I'd guess he is asleep. But I don't want to sound like I stalk the Southampton youth team.
  6. The youth team had a christmas meal and a days paint-balling today. Bonding all ready for the big FA Youth Cup match on Monday at St Mary's. He recovered from his injury and has been back playing/training with the youth team and development squad.
  7. I haven't kept fully on top of owl/text communication.
  8. Undersoil heating doesn't provide the light grass requires in the winter months for long periods in order to photosynthesise. This new lighting system does.
  9. Same source that told me that Jack Stephens was going to sign, believes Sam Gallagher is soon to sign for Saints in the next few weeks. Sam is a winger/striker, highly rated by the Plymouth coaching staff and still only 15. Not huge news I know, but fun to be itk again!
  10. Cox and Saints aren't mentioned in that article.
  11. Jack Stephens, Luke Shaw, James Ward-Prowse and a number of other players didn't play in that game some on international duty, others played recently for the under 21's and were rested. So a few under 16's played against Pompey and fringe players from the 22 scholars Saints have. It was far from the best Saints XI so Pompey can't gloat too much. Gape only came on as a late sub btw. Steve Mowthorpe, Matt Young, Jordan Turnbull, Bevis Mugabi, Conor O'Sullivan (Dominic Gape 78 ), Daniel Bowman (Aaron Ward-Baptiste 65), Harrison Reed, Jason McCarthy, Gregory Ariybi (Omar Rowe 55), Joe Curtis, Jake Sinclair
  12. There is a Football League meeting on Thursday 8th December and the issue of a possible points deduction is on the agenda.
  13. No chance it will be live on TV. If it were at Fratton Park, perhaps. But there are plenty of more appealing games and at Stamford Bridge it is a home banker.
  14. Hopefully for your sake you are on a wind up. But in case you aren't... - 17th in a league of 24 isn't midtable. - 17th in the Championship in 2010/11 had 56 points from 46 games. Saints currently have 42 points from 20 games. Do you really think Saints will only pick up 14 points from the remaining 26 games? That would be something like Play 26 Win 3 Draw 5 Lose 18
  15. The best thing about most of these suggestions is that there is very little they can come back at us with. Apart from calling us "scummers", what can they do that is witty towards a club that is financially secure and top of the league?
  16. Adkins said on Tuesday after the game that Fox had a pelvis injury.
  17. Mark Fry was confident Saints had a good chance of avoiding a points deduction and look what happened. He also thought Saints had a good chance in an appeal.
  18. He does that every game.
  19. Hardly! He has been owned by just two clubs (Bournemouth and Wolves). He only recently turned 22, it is not unusual to be loaned out to a number of clubs to gain experience.
  20. What can Sunderland offer Adkins that he can't do at Saints in the next few years?
  21. He has already stated he is retiring at the end of the season.
  22. This lot... http://www.converssport.com/companies Largely all very recent acquisitions, and possibly all funded using the "alleged" stolen cash from the Lithuanian and Latvian banks in order to clean it.
  23. Andrew Andronikou says the club only has funds "until the turn of the new year". http://audioboo.fm/boos/567341 So a month and ticking... Although to me he doesn't sound overly confident the Football League won't impose penalties even though he says he is early on in the interview. Mark Fry when appointed Saints administrator in 2009 was confident they wouldn't be deducted points.
  24. You say "prudent", but overlook the amount of money shown in the accounts Liebherr put in during the first season. Rupert Lowe didn't put any money of note in, nor did he spend on Staplewood anywhere near the amount the club are currently spending.
