  1. Just because there were a few empty seats doesn't mean they weren't sold. Not everyone with a season ticket comes to every game, particularly those with young children on school nights. The club announced it was a sell out long before kick off, why would they stop potential customers trying to buy a ticket by doing that?
  2. Really? The two games he has missed are against 3rd and 2nd place teams at the time of the match and... Derby 11 shots - 7 on target Southampton 15 shots - 9 on target Southampton 18 shots - 9 on target West Ham 9 shots - 4 on target Yes, with Lallana we'd likely create more, but to suggest "we are not creating many chances" without him is clearly wrong.
  3. Saints are actually the favourites to win Tuesday's game with every major bookmaker. http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/championship/southampton-v-west-ham/winner Plus West Ham aren't that "red hot" to win the league, Saints are close behind as 2nd favourites with every major bookmaker. http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/championship/winner
  4. I doubt Cork was under £1m, plus you left out De Ridder, loan fee for Hooiveld and the numerous contract extensions/wage increases over the summer. In any case, my original point was that Saints have one of the highest wage bills/transfer fee spends, this point still stands. Out of the 24 Championship teams Saints would be high on the list, that was my point.
  5. They didn't spend more than Saints in the summer. Why do you think Fox and Cork are at Saints? Burnley have a tiny wage budget in comparison, they pay £10k p/w at most. Forest and Leeds squads didn't cost much to assemble and I doubt their wage budget is as high as Saints'.
  6. "Widely reported" where exactly? Name some squads other than the three I mentioned that cost more and have a higher wage bill then?
  7. If Karl Robinson gets it we will hear some cracking excuses again on Radio Solent, he is up there with Steve Cotterill for spouting rubbish after defeats!
  8. Davis £800k Richardson £450k Hooiveld Loan Fonte £1m Fox £1.8m Lallana Youth Cork £1m Schneiderlin £1m Guly Do Prado Undisclosed (but I bet it wasn't cheap) Lambert £1m Connolly Free Then you also have... De Ridder Undisclosed (and like with Guly I bet it wasn't cheap) Harding Free Dickson £250k Puncheon £250k Barnard £200k Seaborne £200k Butterfield Free Jaidi Free Chaplow £50k Forte £200k Hammond £400k Saints had a £12m wage bill in their first season in League One according to the accounts, that is more than most Championship clubs! It will be a lot higher this season with all the new contracts handed out. A number of them will be on £20k+ p/w. I reckon only West Ham, Birmingham and Leicester have a more expensively assembled squad than Saints for wages and fees combined.
  9. Really? Saints have one of the most expensively assembled squads in the league and one of the highest wage budgets. Plus Adkins doesn't exactly play hoof-ball like the crazy gang.
  10. That was what Adkins told him to do.
  11. Hammond is fit, he is on the bench.
  12. David Lampitt on today's events... http://audioboo.fm/boos/505818
  13. Nice to be linked to current internationals again!
  14. Why the need for a loan? Saints have scored 25 goals in 10 games without him in the matchday sixteen and Adkins says he'll be back soon in any case.
  15. He cost £50k (confirmed by the Preston chairman) Out by £750k is quite a margin of error on your part there!
  16. Umm... http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2459581,00.html and http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2471316,00.html
  17. Did I say what will happen to the "loan"? No, I didn't either way. I was just pointing out to Corp Ho that he doesn't either. The Liebherr's recoup their money with the sale value of the club, even today in the Championship it is worth more than they paid for it, should they get to the Premier League it will be worth a lot more than they paid for it.
  18. Can you show me where in the accounts it says that money has to be paid back and when by? Can you show me where in the accounts it states that money won't be turned into equity?
  19. Even more desperation for cash, due to crowds of 12,000 at Fratton Park...? http://www.portsmouthfc.co.uk/LatestNews/news/Half-Price-Pompey-Tops-2659.aspx
  20. 90% really? So not much in the way of seniors, students, young adults, disabled/enablers or kids then?
  21. Would be a shame if this happened, as I want him to still be in charge when we play them live on the BBC... http://www.thisisnottingham.co.uk/Cotterill-emerges-strong-contender-manager-s-job/story-13519504-detail/story.html
  22. Well you have just lost £2m from your original business plan. You can easily chalk off a lot more!... What makes you think £20 is the average? How about all the season tickets for concessions? How about all the cheap seat season ticket holders? Are they paying £20 a game?
  23. They are getting desperate for cash again... http://www.portsmouthfc.co.uk/LatestNews/news/Pompey-v-Doncaster-Ticket-Offer-2653.aspx
  24. Well I seem to get good players coming through the academy. Not a lot else I can do as a researcher apart from set these values for Southampton.
  25. I'm confused, have you seen what Saints have in this area for FM12? - State of the art youth facilities (joint 1st in England on FM12) - Good junior coaching (joint 3rd in England on FM12) - Well established youth recruitment (2nd in England on FM12) Meaning they have one of the best youth set-ups in England on FM12. It has also been highly rated in previous FM's.
