Well then, that is the problem with those that "report on football for a living", they write things like "Southampton are Arsenal's feeder club", even though there has only be one notable transfer in the last 20 odd years between the two sides. It is nothing more than sensationalism, do you write for a tabloid?

http://www.blick.ch/sport/fussball/international/transfer-ticker-sommer-2011-174573 It may not happen, but still it is a sign of activity and standard of player being looked at. A very quick, 22 year old, Nigerian-born Swiss striker that had a lot of game time during the Euro Under 21 tournament this summer. A lot of people on this forum will have also seen him play (for a couple of minutes), as he came on at Wembley against England senior side in June for the Euro 2012 qualifiers. Obligatory Youtube highlight video...

Is it not boring to say things like "Saints are a feeder club for Arsenal", when you have nothing to back that up? Walcott left 4 years ago, with Saints under different management and ownership.
-
Okay Selling one player to them four years ago and another twenty seven years ago, doesn't make Saints a feeder club.

Kettering Town V Saints XI, 28th July 7:45 pm
Matthew Le God replied to Northant Saint's topic in The Saints
There was an article last Thursday about the Saints under 21 development team playing Kettering, Eastleigh, Totton and Havant. -
So it is newsworthy to start threads about randomly edited (by anyone in the world) Wikipedia pages of footballers? This forum would be a mess if everyone started doing that. It is also a vague and misleading thread title.

Scroll to the bottom of any page on the OS, it says aap3 is the "main club sponsor". It has done for a few months, they also started to feature on home match days towards the end of last season. If the deal hadn't already started why would they do that?
-
Why have you deemed this newsworthy?
-
Nope, can't see it. - The Echo are trying to sell papers by using other journalists work. - The Saints OS is trying to inform its fanbase with news of an upcoming tour that a number of its fans may be interested in making a trip out to Switzerland for. They did this by editing their own article with new info and boosting its position in the news section on their own website.

The OS article now has extra information in it. Previously it didn't have the kick off time for the St. Gallen game (probably because it wasn't 100% confirmed at the time), the article now does have the time. They then republished the article and put it as the main story today so people would know and also make those aware of the tour if they hadn't seen it before. I really don't see how this can be compared to a local newspaper copying and pasting a large number of its stories from other sources.

Is it? - Players haven't started pre-season training yet - 3 days until many contracts end and transfer window really gets going - Over 5 weeks until season starts - Over 8 weeks until transfer window closes (even then the loan window is still open until November)
-
Talking to Alpine sometimes is like telling a child that Christmas is two weeks away and he won't get any presents until then. Then Alpine starts complaining of lack of presents on December 22nd. - Players haven't started pre-season training yet - 3 days until many contracts end and transfer window really gets going - Over 5 weeks until season starts - Over 8 weeks until transfer window closes (even then the loan window is still open until November)

There are over eight weeks left of the transfer window. Five weeks until the season starts. Heck, pre-season isn't even starting for another two days!

Parachute payments in 2012/13 aren't any different from those that Burnley, Pompey and Hull got.

It is on topic, the rules mentioned in the opening post allow any benefactor to spend as much as they want on infrastructure (which boost revenue streams allowing for more to be spent), and may also allow owners inject money in the form of equity into the club.
-
The UEFA rules allow for investment of up to £40m over a 3 year period from the owners as long as it is turned into equity. The Football League financial rules will see something similar to this (though perhaps not as large and is still to be decided). The UEFA and Football League financial rules also have spending on stadiums, training grounds and academies exempt from counting towards the figure to break even.
-
So you have come to this conclusion on the 27th June, before Saints have even slightly shown their hand for summer transfer activity.

Education theory doesn't require children to be present. Teachers whilst training sit through endless lectures at university on child psychology and education theories etc and attend numerous seminars on education techniques. A driving theory test doesn't require a car to be taught.
-
Because teachers want holidays. Perk of the job. Education is forever changing and evolving. New issues arise, new methods to use etc since staff did teacher training possibly many years earlier.

Opinion Poll: The song that Saints currently come in to?
Matthew Le God replied to kwsaint's topic in The Saints
They do use that during the build up each game, but isn't the song when they are walking through the tunnel "The Saints are coming"?
