  1. I don't know if you had noticed but... Saints are still financed by the estate of a billionaire, they have a large modern stadium, averaging over 20k in the 3rd tier, own a large piece of land in the form of Jackson's Farm, have their own training ground which has planning permission granted, no debt, have a large squad and have one of the best academies in the country. Where as Pompey are owned by a man that doesn't want to own them, a small old stadium, rented training facilities, a tiny squad, a 5 year CVA to pay off, still under transfer review from the Football League, this seasons and some of next seasons parachute payments already spent, an academy lacking investment etc etc I'd say Pompey are still in a pretty deep hole.
  2. pfc123 ignoring that next years parachute payments has already started to be used and that this years already has been.
  3. It is even better than that... So over 2,200 saints fans potentially there.
  4. No.
  5. It is far from over. 1) Chainrai has said he is taking out more in the way of borrowed money 2) The CVA has 5 years left and all repayments need to be on time or **** hits the fan again 3) Paul Duffen said he has seen documents that suggest that the parachute payments from next season are already being used 4) The disputed £1 million to Tottenham would upset the business plan 5) Storrie/Mandaric/Redknapp court case Plenty to keep us entertained...
  6. http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Portsmouth-are-the-target-of-a-10m-takeover-bid-from-former-Hull-chairman-Paul-Duffen-article612957.html An interesting point from it... "From documents I have seen the club have already drawn on £8m from next year’s Premier League parachute payments." The gift that keeps on giving...
  7. Dickson done by Brentford researcher(all summer transfers done this way as the new researcher hasn't seen them). I'd need to see Dickson play more before I make any changes to how the Brentford researcher rated him. At the moment he doesn't even make the Saints bench! Lallana will see improvement in next player data update. The Charlton researcher did his stats. He is still rated one of the best right backs in League One on the game and is rated higher than Butterfield. He is already rated the best defender in League One in the game. Any changes would need to be minor. Only four keepers rated higher in League One than Davis. Seaborne doesn't impress me, I don't think he'll make it at a higher level, he is still struggling in League One imo and Fonte has to cover him a lot. Hopefully he'll prove me wrong, but at the moment I can't see it and he still worries me when at St Mary's.
  8. Yep, he'll definitely be improved. The initial stats are meant to reflect 09/10 season rather than what they have done so far. He does have good potential in the game still.
  9. An oversight, sorry. Then suggest changes either here with me or on the SI forums in the data section.
  10. Balram Chainrai on SSN "We are going to need to borrow money from elsewhere." That statement, along with 5 years left of CVA repayments shows why this thread shouldn't close. Still plenty more mileage left in this saga.
  11. 15 in the League

  13. tbf an extra ticket to sth's for £7.50 and buy one get one half price fro everyone else probably helped a lot for the Oldham game.
  14. 17 of Barnard's League goals were for Southend!
  15. Where is this interview? Link?
  16. It is a valid reason to break the doorbell.

  18. Newly promoted Notts County are only 4 points from the playoffs, 6 points from automatic promotion place!
  19. You don't need to go back very far to find one... Last season we played non league Luton Town in the 3rd round.
  20. Well I'm far from overweight, 6 foot 1 and I don't have anywhere near enough leg room. My knees dig into the seat infront. I blame Rupert Lowe for making such a stadium!
  21. How to take a quote out of the context it was said, part 1...
  22. What does weight have to do with length of limbs?
  23. Well that part is true about St Mary's. Anyone over 6 foot struggles to sit comfortably, as your knees end up digging into the seat infront. One of the reasons I like Cortese's new stadium idea.
  24. It is more than just a rumour, the BBC/ExpressFM have direct quotes from him... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/p/portsmouth/9120575.stm So another possible owner with a case to answer in the High Court! They sure do attract them! Unlikely any clean businessmen would see them as an attractive investment proposition.
  25. Have you both been doing proper preseasons and giving players short game time? Tired/unfit players more likely to get injured.
