  1. Swansea and West Brom played on Saturday too
  2. That's not big and it's not clever.
  3. C'est oui monsieur, beaucoup de poisson n'est ce pas?
  4. His problem is ... he's not someone else. (John Cooper Clarke). I'm sure it will all be forgiven if he takes off with a lingerie model (and scores twenty times a season). Mrs Sandwich saw him in the flesh today for the first time and she was 'disappointed' (and she's not even a lingerie model). Says he looks good on telly but he was a bit half-hearted today and his first touch was hit and miss, she expected more. She's been spoilt rotten that woman.
  5. Sub-titled, players we used to laugh at but are OK now; Rob Green ... zero to hero, he's been as good as anyone this year. Ashley Young .. not a great defender and not a great attacker but he appears to be carving out a niche for himself under van Gaal as a utility in-betweener. Not a new one but somebody that has improved massively .. Fabian Delph, signed from Leeds and anonymous for the first two seasons but has really upped is game the last 18 months. Most improved Saints player? Hard to say with all the new boys but you would have to say that SD has really stepped it up this year.
  6. Put your camera on a Sprite bottle ... everybody's happy.
  7. 0-0 and a replay would cause a fair amount of fans 'stress and fatigue injuries' at this time of year. Isn't Elias Newbie available for this one?
  8. Football's changed! Back in the day you had to avoid, to name but a few miscellaneous match day hazards; darts, coins, pool balls, glasses of **** (plastic and glass), glass beer bottles, batteries and the odd brick, but yeh, a narrow escape nearly being hit by a plastic sprite bottle. Was it full?
  9. Let's try and put the dubious quiz question to bed; (bare with me) I think I first heard it as: Bristol City, Burnley, Blackpool, and 'Aberdeen' (not sure if that is Pittordrie pre or post all-seater status?) or possibly Tannadice (?) (told you I didn't know the answer), BUT some peeps have thrown in Birmingham, having never been to Blackpool pre or post re-development nor to St Andrews not sure where that leaves it. But there is a more recent ground where a lot of Saints fans will have seen us play four years ago this very week-end and where the teams do indeed emerge from behind the goal.... Dagenham and Redbridge, which was never in the pub quiz standard that I did. Definites: Burnley Bristol City and Daggers Maybes: Blackpool (old or new?), Birmingham(?), Aberdeen or Dundee (?) .... Anybody else got a dodgy question they would like to ask?
  10. Given up with the streams today....
  11. Very good goal, that should give him a lift.
  12. Decent start for Mane, I need goals for RVP and Rooney (after resting Costa and Hazard, duh.)
  13. Just been mounting some old tickets (ooh-er missus): Sat 5th Jan 2008, Kick off 3.00 pm , Leicester City FA Cup 3rd Round, Block 42, Adult £15 .... Lowe out!
  14. Xmas quiz question (I'm not sure of the question or the answers but bear with it) .... Which are the four (?) English or Scottish grounds where the tunnel is situated behind the goal line (rather than on the touchline or in a corner). No takers for the quiz? This was a pub quiz chestnut back in the day but I think it might have been superseded by new grounds opening/re-development/new teams to the leagues etc .... more of a Xmas riddle than a Xmas quiz. Anybody? Any ground(s) where the teams come out behind the goal?
  15. I might have missed a trick here, I only looked at the old pics...... did people really get the 'old' ****x*****y****z**** ground? The one with the tunnel behind the goal? I have no recollection of that at all..... (I'm 53 on Thursday). Xmas quiz question (I'm not sure of the question or the answers but bear with it) .... Which are the four (?) English or Scottish grounds where the tunnel is situated behind the goal line (rather than on the touchline or in a corner).
  16. http://www.theguardian.com/artanddesign/series/photography-then-and-now Seven out of ten, I'll take that.
  17. Oops, medium term memory loss alert.
  18. I think the big scouse one, the one with the funny beard and the big one at the back who kept slipping over have all moved to Liverpool. Not sure about the others.
  19. Take that all day, we took Cardiff to pieces first 20 minutes last year , a very un-Saints-like boxing day performance. Mind you I did see us win at Palace on Boxing Day a few years back, 1-0 with a rare Matt Oakley goal, and a very good one too.
  20. Ich bin ein Berliner, one for the over 60's.
  21. Davis terrific today.
  22. Fantasticccc!!!!
  23. So much more positive with 2 up front, looking really dangerous on the counter.
