The "I'm not sure I can be R-Sed to go to the Oldham game" thread
Charlie Wayman replied to 1976_Child's topic in The Saints
Reading your quotes can't help wondering if you are permanently P****ed. In which case will you ever know whether or not you went to the game? No wonder there's always a friggin' queue for the bogs! Clear your mind man and start making decisions other thanI dunno, I dunno, I dunno! ;-) -
You're dead right there but - hey! - let's not get bogged down in detail, Adders needs all the help he can get. Don't forget he's got to win this league to keep his job. Hopeless task? Quit now? Keep talking a good game and those pay cheques will keep rolling in every month. It's ever such a long time until March when he'llasked to clear is desk so why would he care. Failure never lost anybody a career in football.

Puncheon is the least of our worries unless he really does explode in the middle of the pitch [OS - ready to explode] which would be a tad messy. To be honest the thought of watching Oldham fills me with total apathy. No disrespect to Oldham but "Where are you?" I don't know or care where Bolton and Blackburn are either but at least they were founder members of the football league so their visits used to be tolerable, now they would be dream fixtures. How times have changed.

Who was the wonker that sold him?

Talking of which how come that Jaidi and Wotton can turn our for the under-21's? Somebody's been telling 'ginoumous' porkies... did anybody tell Fulham?

Saints Have offered Adam a Big Wadge, Apparently.....
Charlie Wayman replied to Secret Site Agent's topic in The Saints
I'm pretty sure this "ginoumous wadge" would have been offered by a Birmingham fan. -
Time for a managerial change. Adkins OUT! This was dreadful; we are right back to square 1, the manager has no idea who his best XI are and in which positions. Now we have to climb another effing learning curve. Only an idiot would start with Chaplow over Schneiderlin and Guly up-front. Butterfield, only his mother can think he's any good. FFS why do we keep making the same old elementary mistakes with the same old predictable outcome time after time? On this form we are going precisely no where this season. Forget automatic promotion, we'll do well to stay in the upper half. This I remind you fellow sufferers is the Third Effing Division, we are the biggest club down there - surely it can't be that effing difficult to pick a decent team, win a few football matches and get the F out of it?
-
That's not right, all successful teams build it up from the back. Davies always has 4 options and provided Schneiderlin and Hammond stay alert and mobile will always offer any of the back four a choice of forward passes after that. Puncheon seems to relish a roaming role in mid-field and is easily capable of dropping deep to give the back four a third option as well. We have already seen that fast precise passing can be made to stick and work, there were some excellent patches of such play last week. The other point is that even with two up, if either of the oppo strikers decides to hassle Davies then there is only one left to deal with the four back line players who may get the ball from Davies.

Wasnt this dude supposed to be interested in us at some point ?
Charlie Wayman replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
How long before it all falls down? Actually, you can buy these construction kits in Ikea so quite straghtforward to build yourself a look-a-like although you may not want to copy the electrics. Three heli-pads are useless of course as only one helicopter could operate at a time as the down-wash from the other two would trash all three! If this much thought went into the design of his house, we should rejoice that he never got his hands on Saints. -
If he doesn't of course he'll be dead meat. Quite an incentive. I think they will win it.
-
Totally agree. We used to be renowned as a friendly family club suitable for kids. Let's keep it that way.

As long as they use deodorant and don't have bad breath, what's the problem? Live and let live. Heaven forbid we start endorsing teen brands.
-
I think you are nearer the truth but to be fair to the man he's only just come in, is not yet fit or familiar with our style of play or team mates. It takes time but he'll be a good man for the bench as cover for when Hammond and Schneiderlin get their twice-yearly suspensions
-
I hope we revert to Red & White Stripes in the Championship next year. On this form we'll win that league as well.
-
You forgot No easy games If we keep the ball, they can't play football This is big club and many teams who come here will respond to that by raising their game At this stadium teams like (T*******) coming here will set themselves up defensively; it'll be hard to break them down but we've got to learn to deal with that... etc When does the learning start Adders?
-
He should be reminded of the old adage, the longer the message the less important the content or bull**** baffles brains or if he talks non-stop (drivel) all the time (one mouth) , what is happening with his other critical brain inputs of listening (two ears) and observing (two eyes) Come on Adders you've talked the talk, now ge on with walking the walk!

Sheffield Wednesday 0-1 Saints - Post-match reaction thread

Law of averages? -
What a load of ********! Of course he is a very good player otherwise why would he be picked for Wales u-21's? Have you ever seen him play?
-
These are the salient reasons, put succinctly. Well observed and well said!

It's called being disenfranchised or in plain English marginalised... The Club have made it obvious that the views of only one person matter to them, hence no interaction with fans hence nothing worth the candle to talk about hence an uninteresting website. Don't expect things to get any better soon. For sure we'll all be on here to moan on Monday and Wednesday after the next two defeats but then 'puff' it'll be back to zilch again... and the band played on and on?
-
Man C with all their wealth cannot get their act together so what chance Saints succeeding on very much less money. Not very good as is being proved right now. In a way it is good that money doesn't guarantee success. Everton next for the drop? After Saints fell from grace they are the next longest serving top flight club so obviously their time for the big fall.
-
Not me. I have a dental appointment at 2.30 and have elected to have three teeth removed without anesthetic which beats watching Saints in their present stupor anytime. At least when I've finished screaming obscenities at the dentist the agony will be over....

Make the goals bigger! There, it wasn't that difficult was it? -
Time to accept that it is unlikely we will go up
Charlie Wayman replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
What has amazed me most is that Adkins probably signed a contract with Cortese guaranteeing him promotion. If he doesn't achieve it he may have to resign. Is he confident, just plain daft or does he know something we don't. I'd have to say right now we look more like relegation material than promotion candidates. -
We feel let down, simple as that. We are given a bucket load of promises about our future year-after-year by a whole succession of boards which are never fulfilled, we have to endure changes of direction about every 15 months for whatever reasons and we never ever win anything worth winning. Everything we do as a club seems to have been done on the cheap so we know we are never going to get top players or managers and coaches here and we know all our best talent will be groomed for the highest bidder and we just know we will only ever recruit has-been's, wanna-be's and no-hoper discards from bigger clubs and we know it will all change again next year and etc. etc... so that's why we are all so tetchy and ****ed off with every new promise or revelation and every broken dream and the eternal promise of jam tomorrow. I know I have not made myself popular of late because I expressed the view that Adkins is a typical Saints appointment but as a fan who saw his first game in 1948 and has remained loyal ever since it is beginning to look doubtful to me that anything will ever change here. When you are young and much of this history is unknown to you it is quite understandable why you are full of undiminished hope and expectation. I was the same and sometimes still am. Those of us who have stuck it out through thick and thin (except for the second coming of Rupert Lowe) are entitled to feel a bit cheated. Disappointment must be the over-riding sentiment of any Saints fan who has endured it all for so long. ..and just to reinforce my point, Mr Cortese has promised a selected group of fans that the stadium will be improved. My response to that is "When?" After all Mr Cortese you have been here for over a year already and nothing has changed yet... the food is still bad, the loos are disgusting and the queues for drinks ain't worth joining. It all sounds like just another empty politicians promise, always the "What's" but never the "How's" and "When's". You'll see much the same during the Labour leadership discussions.
