Will players come back into first team as not sold?
Charlie Wayman replied to NickG's topic in The Saints
Skacel was overweight, ponderous and couldn't run fast enough to overtake a tortoise last year so an ideal choice for LB? I don't think so! -
Jan Poortvliet quote: "...... that will help them both to settle because it's often good to have a familiar face about the place." You can say that again mate! Most fans will feel the same, they don't recognise anybody!
-
Some of the things Jan Poortvliet says are plain daft! How quickly his "Bring it on!" has turned into "Please, give us some respite!" Sorry to say but I can't see it working out for him after all. No doubt Judas & Co will give him until December? Early Euphoria carries many teams forward but sustaining it is nigh impossible, nobody has that much adrenaline. Look what happened to Stoke and Hull on Saturday, it's always seems easy for 3 games but then the 'norm' kicks in - same with us! Now we must start being realistic, revise our wildest expectations / hopes and accept that a relegation fight seems distinctly possible.

Plan B is a euphemism as I am sure you realise LSC. Ant 'Plan' is Plan A until two minutes after implementation when there is no plan left worth the mullah, at which time it is more kindly called "time for Plan B" rather than "You are a useless pr*ck for c*cking it all up!"
-
Didn't go. Had a feeling it would go bottom up after all the euphoria this week. Went to The Emirates instead. Arsenal were poor but nowhere near as bad as Newcastle. I have seen two of this year's relegation teams already, Newcastle and West Ham and both are clueless sides in free-fall, lots of long ball stuff that Saints USED TO PLAY. We'd have beaten both Newcastle and Arsenal on our last Tuesday's showing - but obviously not yesterday's!

Typical of Sycophant Scooby - as usual in his eyes Lowe has sun shining from his Rrse! Lowe hasn't changed.. do leopards change their spots? Bring back the gallows on Itchen Bridge and Judas must go with him.

Time to GET RID. The bloke's a prize plonker and looks antediluvian in this team.

Get Well quickly mate! -
He's a good lad to bring in on a free as the ticket office is genuinely short of people with football knowledge.
-
If they are on loan they are on offer.. FACT! Stop worrying, if they were considered really that special they wouldn't be at SMS believe you me. You've forgotten how big is the gulf between Chelsea, Spurs and us in terms of playing strength and ambition. If we can off-load the old has-beens / never-was's before then don't bet against signing them both. What future for Jack Cork at Chelsea with Kaka and all the rest of the £50m + contingent?
-
Excellent. I think Birmingham were up for it, who knows but the best aspect was of our ability to keep defending right thorughout the game. Paul Wooton was a good rabble rouser and played quite well. Thomas was good but he must cure his long ball habit
-
PS What happened to the expletive filter mods, we rely on that!?
-
Bugger January, let's concentrate on being top of the table by then so that even Lowe will not be able to make enough plausible excuses to sell our lads.

our youngsters played beatifully...Derby press
Charlie Wayman replied to NickG's topic in The Saints
If I was allowed to post a new thread which I am not I would post a thread that said " Is Simon Gillett the NEW Paul Scholes?" You've gotta believe it, tigerish tackling, amazing vision and superb control and passing. He's a must for England sooner rather than later. The sheer power and ability of Simon and Morgan in midfield takes your breath away. It's a very long time indeed since that that happened here. I hope we make it to automatic promotion this year so that we have a reasonable chance of holding onto them - imagine we had the chance to field Scholes and Gerrard, well this pairing could be even better. -
I blame it all on the post-war baby boomers who didn't bring up their kids properly. Had they done so we might have been spared much of the tosh that gets bantered about on here.

Kelvin Davis to be sold with Rasiak, Saga and Skacel
Charlie Wayman replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
Andrew Davies is exactly the sort of player we need, am I missing something? -
Thomas demonstrated what he was against Stoke, a useless *****.
-
Even to finish in mid-table we need to take a lot of points - 60? - ; most of us realise there is little hope of anything coming our way in the first six games. By then, team morale may be too low to generate a winning culture to bounce back quickly. Jan will be under pressure to change things around to get results and will be "encouraged" to give the more experienced (sic: older and slower) guys a game and suddenly everything will be back up in the air and fragmenting. Long ball footie would be back with a vengeance. Things could be bad from then on. To have won promotion was always a long shot with all that has gone on here but it was essential to start with a winning run and mentality. That chance has slipped by and probably any hopes of avoiding a relegation scrap with it.

... or ****ing worse!

Couldn't give a sh*t!

Poortvliet has had his chance, time to move on. He was useless second half against Brum, no idea what was going on, on (and off!) the field. It all looks one dimensional, one size fits all football with nowhere to go when it doesn't work.
-
If he is disaffected it'll be because he is never allowed to play in his preferred mid-field position. The guy is talented so why are we so determined to extinguish his talent by assigning him a role that he is neither suited to nor enjoys. If he leaves it will be the end of our dreams - think global act local? My RRrse!
-
If we sell Andrew Davies, it'll be proof positive that Saints are being run by lunatics
-
Running out of steam after 45 mins? Then why are we playing such unfit people. It is all looking a little bit ominous. As a well-known gloom merchant, i did predict only 1 point from our first 6 games and nothing yesterday cahnged my mind. My two sons watched the match and their verdict was that the first half we were exciting but in the second we were total rubbish. They also thought it was a major up-**** to play John with the in-form DM on the right wing. Had the starting line-up been the same as the finishing line-up we may have got the 2 or 3 goals we deserved before HT.

Poor show that neither Wilde or Lowe were there?
Charlie Wayman replied to tiger's topic in The Saints
On this occasion I sort of half agree with you. Lowe is wise and circumspect in keeping a low profile, he will be fully aware of the consequences of him being seen in the director's box having been through all that two years ago. Why risk it until we start winning something. As for Wilde, well he is the Judas who brought Lowe back in. Want to be seen in public...? You work it out! So it may not be a question of not being bothered, probably more staying out of site.
