  1. Think for most people their favourite world cup is the first one they really remember and got into as a kid so for me it's the '82 World Cup. I was 10 and remember being totally consumed by all of it (which was good as England were a bit shit). The Brazil side was awesome - Zico, Socrates, Falcao etc just brilliant to watch. I loved their game against Italy and Rossi's hattrick. The West Germany v France semi is one the best games I've seen for drama and Schumacher's "foul" on Battiston was horrific. Even the final was good and I've yet to see a celebration as good as Tardelli. Loved Italia '90 too and by then it was as much about the social side as it was about the football. I suspect I'll get into the WC this year a bit more once it gets started but got zero interest at the moment. Don't know when England are playing or who against. Whole thing is corrupt as hell and stinks.
  2. I know this thread is about Biden but watching Obama on the campaign trail reminded me what a fantastic orator he is. Would have loved to see him take on Trump, would be hilarious. Poor old Donny couldn’t beat Biden, how shit is he?
  3. Yes, Jon Stewart is excellent (or at least was - don't see too much of him now).
  4. Yeah, O'Brien annoys me as well. Seems to live in a stark black and white world with no shades of grey and in a permanent state of outrage. I probably agree with a lot of what he says (if I took the time to listen more often) but he's so OTT that I don't bother. Suppose it provokes people and gets them to call in which is probably his remit. John Oliver falls into the same category and if anything is even more annoying. At least Jonathan Pie can fall back on the excuse that he's a parody.
  5. people who have a similar profile picture to yours.
  6. Bit depressing but not really surprising. The other line is "They're all the same as one another". Generally used by people who have no intention of changing their vote and just need a convenient excuse. Just for the record, I do appreciate that this also applies to non-tory voters as well. I watched most of PMQs yesterday and all Sunak could do was criticise Labour. I don't think he answered a single question. I know it's par for the course in PMQs but he's not in a great position when he can't defend the last 12 years and can't promise it'll be any better in the short to medium term either.
  7. Yes, apparently because of the uncertainty around Brexit. Does anyone take JRM seriously? He's like the court jester of the HoC.
  8. Interesting stat although for context that's just under 23% of current MPs and Lords so I suppose if they're predominately remainers then there's not much hypocrisy. Private Eye seems to think Rees-Mogg holds an Irish passport but can't find anything to back that up.
  9. Think she got that wrong as well, it’s risen by 42% not constitutes 42% of all recorded religious hate crimes.
  10. CHRISTMAS EASTER GUY FAWKES AND THE GINPOWDER PLOT ST PATRICKS DAY REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY EVERY NEW YEAR MOTHERS DAY FATHERS DAY As far as I can tell halloween is the only non capitalised day around. I bloody hate capitalisation. Ruins everything.
  11. Ah, one of those that come back for the NHS because it turns out the new world ain't so great if you're old. Yeah, figures.
  12. If you've already emigrated how can you wave whitey off? In fact, what the fuck has our country got to do with you? Bloody foreigners ruining our forums. I'd ship you off to Rwanda if you ever step foot in this country again.
  13. Never really thought about it but to avoid being racist you probably need to find enough white cunts within the Tory party to balance it out. I've worked it out at roughly 3.5 white cunts for every ethnically diverse one. If you can find 18 (rounding up) then you're probably fine. Well done. Not racist.
  14. Hope he gets rid of James Cleverly - really don't like him.
  15. Rishi Sunak is the most right wing far right prime minister ever.
  16. Is there a prize for the correct answer? I'm going to guess 30 seconds from now.
  17. Yep, agree with this. I watch the news to be educated and listen to informed opinion not to find out what the man on the street thinks. Besides they nearly always do these pieces in a city centre midweek so it’s invariably retired and kids without jobs so it’s hardly representative.
  18. I think the thing is that it was never about money, that's what remainers don't get. It's worth it to get our country back. Apparently.
  19. I'd extend that to the people who can't walk from A to B without a cup of coffee in their hand. Whilst we're on the subject, coffee in general irritates me. It's a hot beverage, it's not the most orgasmic thing ever. I don't understand why people get so worked up by it and I really don't like being stuck behind some pretentious git that takes half an hour to decide on their order and even longer for the poor sod serving to get the drink ready.
  20. There you go, she did achieve some growth! Personally I'm hoping for a Braverman and Patel dream ticket with JRM on keyboard, John Redwood lead guitar and Dorries on drums.
  21. Best solution to this is Truss resigns, party elects a new leader (amongst MPs) and the first bit of business is to set a date for a general election. Obviously it'll never happen though.
  22. I'm busy with Iran at the moment and then I'm right on it with Brazil. I'm deliberately leaving a window open for Russia in the spring so the earliest I can do will be around May. I'll email a quote.
  23. She's at a funeral following the untimely death of her economic plans.
  24. Funny how you can never find a Tory voter during a Tory government and yet they still come out on polling day. It's like those mayflies that only live for a day and then die.
  25. That's a masterpiece. Thank you.
