  1. Well done. Note this isn't twitter and I come on here to find out news about saints mostly. There's also the enjoyment gained by taking the piss. None of that really means I care what you think.
  2. Yeah, I ain't condoning anything abusive or sexist but that's a matter for your social media types. Why the fuck anyone wants to go on twitter baffles me anyway - I couldn't care less about other people let alone their opinions.
  3. As long as the replies aren't abusive or sexist then don't see what the problem is. Was pretty obvious the context that Souness was using but she's got a right to question the language if she wants, just as people also have a right to disagree. If she's going to post something on Twitter then what do people expect?
  4. She needs to man up and show some balls.
  5. I did wonder whether Leicester might consider cutting their losses on Patson Daka. Seems like he's still a bit part player there and not getting many minutes.
  6. You had to check that? Seriously?
  7. Just called to find out but went straight to his answer machine. Definitely the kind of maverick player we could do with though.
  8. I guess maybe a gentlemen's agreement could be on the cards but doubt any selling club would insist on it. To be honest if it's Iheanacho then we probably could have got him at any point during the summer, fact we haven't indicates that he wasn't our first choice target going into the transfer window and we're working our way down the list of other possibles. Doubt Leicester would want to jeopardise any deal because sounds like they need the cash. It would be like us insisting Bednarek or Stephens doesn't play against us if we sell - chances are we'd probably try and put a clause in insisting they actually did play against us.....
  9. There’s a piece in the Athletic that talks about Joe Shields and our priorities for recruitment and one of the things he pays particular attention to is the physicality of players. That’s why most of our new signings have been been physically on the larger side. Makes sense to me and definitely gives younger players more of a chance to succeed earlier in their career. Doubt we’ll be signing Messi anytime soon.
  10. Yeah I was kind of taking the piss mate.
  11. It’s “you’re wrong” not “your wrong”
  12. Draw. 0-0 or 1-1. Not good enough to dispel doubts and not bad enough to spark any reaction. it’ll be largely the same team because they deserve the chance to make amends. Game will be dull as fuck and Ralph will cry if we keep a clean sheet
  13. The Rudi Skacel “joke”.
  14. I’d be happy with one of Warnock, Pulis, or Dave Bassett. Failing that then maybe a dream ticket combo where we pair an ageing manager with a former player. Souness and Paul Telfer would be ideal.
  15. Yes, out of the right backs we’ve been linked with, he’s looked the best.
  16. I think you sum it up quite nicely in your first paragraph - people aren't upset simply because of the Spurs game, rather it's the culmination of what happened in the second half of the season and the poor spells before that. The only question is whether you think Ralph is capable of turning it round. Unfortunately I don't. The formation has been used pre-season and it was obvious then that it didn't work, the players he's picking are bizarre choices and he looks incapable of motivating the players or getting them to understand what's required. The justifications for the formation and the team selections don't make sense or bear up to any scrutiny - I doubt even he believes some of the stuff he comes out with. He's had a long time in the job and appears to be getting worse and whatever happens you can't say he hasn't had enough chances. It's a shame. There's a lot to like about Ralph and in parts he's done a good job on limited resources but I get the impression he's not waving but drowning right now.
  17. Yeah, I don’t think that’s the case though. The discontent is a culmination of things that go back to the second half of the season. You can absolutely disagree and think Ralph needs to stay but it’s disingenuous to suggest this is the result of one game. You’re better than that.
  18. Yeah, I know the point you're trying to make but I don't agree with it and blaming fans for performances is a cop out. Fans don't pick the team, they don't choose the formation, they don't choose who to buy. Whatever impact they have is pretty small compared to the other variables that players, managers and owners can control - I'd suggest they address them first before looking at fans who often pay large amounts for something abject. Anyone at the club using these arguments is, at least partly, absolving themselves of responsibility and looking desperately around to distract from their own negligence.
  19. Just to be clear - the 9-0 defeats were caused by fans not being supportive enough? That's rubbish.
  20. Yeah that was the impression I got as well. Probably got a bit tongue tied and came out with games he shouldn't have mentioned. If he'd referenced any of the games we were "shit" (to use Ralph's words) then it would have made a better point. Same with the bloke who listed twitter as a reference for the Che loan rumour. If he'd said The Athletic then it would have sounded a bit more credible but his point still stands (I don't think he was making a specific point about a loan and more about the prospect of him leaving).
  21. Just watched it on YouTube. Bit boring, not very insightful but they never really are. Only things I took from it is Broja definitely ain’t coming back. Second was Semmens wasn’t very clever with his comments on fans. Whenever I see players, managers or senior people at clubs talk in any way that might be critical of their fans it looks bad and they’re normally on their way out. Whatever you might think, you don’t say anything that could be critical of your customers. Not a good look. Thought Ralph did OK considering everything. Still think time is up for him but don’t doubt his commitment or passion.
  22. Cheers for the reply. Expecting to go through the season with just New Guy, Armstrong and Mara as recognised strikers would be mental. Armstrong can't score to save his life (or do anything else) and Mara can't even make the bench. You're basically locked into playing with one striker and struggling to make substitutions until January at the earliest. Even if new guy was exceptional you're asking a hell of a lot and praying for no injuries. As for Aribo up front - yep he did play there a bit in Scotland and wasn't that great. If it's true that SR want money for Che to pay for a striker then the whole transfer policy this season has been flawed. Money should have been absolutely earmarked for a new striker as a priority and other signings were peripheral to addressing the main weakness within the team. I've no problem with the other new signings but if they come at the expense of Adams (and within the context of our lack of other decent strikers) then it's mental. Only hope I would have is that we'd get at least a loan to cover Adams. I don't mean another kid either - it'll need to be someone who can make a difference immediately.
  23. The point was that Universities were banning books because of the fear of offending Gen Z. I've no idea if books actually are being banned, or whether the claims are misleading, all sounds a bit like bollocks, but if it is the case then it does fall into the woke debate.
  24. All well and good but there's no guarantees whoever we signed would be better. I don't really think there's any debate needed about whether he's our best striker either - by any metric he absolutely is. There's also the fact that we're already looking for another striker. Sell Che and we need two and we need both to be good immediately. Not in the distant future, not next season but right now. All this stuff about playing Aribo or S Armstrong upfront is bollocks. All about opinions obviously but the timing simply isn't right to sell Che this summer even if it might be the optimum selling point. To be honest I don't see Ralph being here that much longer so the situation could have changed dramatically anyway.
  25. Happy that we're not looking to sell Che but just makes the decision not to play him at all on Saturday even more stupid.
