The media vs Nick Illingsworth & Richard Chorley
Redondo Saint replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
I think you're right. The Echo may spin a comment to appear the voice of the fans yet the fan was giving their own personal opinion. The reaction from some of our fellow posters is difficult to understand. I can only believe they are envious or jealous of the fact their own opinion has not been sought. A stay at the Priory for Mr Alpine is well overdue. How anyone can despise a fellow fan for providing a comment to the club's local paper is really quite pathetic. I don't agree with RC's views on many topics but would never dismiss his opportunity to share it. -
would that not make you Dowie's brother?
-
I think it will be non league southern teams away and maybe a Premier and CCC team at SMS. We are hardly a star attraction these days for pre-season tours. I think Sutton will be included in the tour.
-
Agree TT. I hope he gets a seat on the board, but would prefer to see him not involved with the operational side of the club. Keep him for PR and home games - and PK coach.
-
according to the O/S. Surely he is worth more than 400 grand?
-
get a new old one...? I need a new one too, Mine got nicked coz I think the thief thought it was a Chivas USA mug!
-
Apparently the Pinnacle Consortium want to relaunch the clubs name. Any chance of a thread with no arguments? Na, life's too short.
-
I've changed my mind, this is a really good thread.
-
me thinks you are a major bullshutter. most 4 on 4 off shifts don't differentiate between weekends and weeks. Also, by elimination you would get some Saturdays off without taking holiday. Welcome to my ignore list.
-
True, but I know more than you think Kev.
-
actually I also knew him and his sisters! I've no idea why he chose to add 'Strode' to his name - better than funcky Gibbon I guess!
-
FFS what a stupid thread. We don't know anything about the potential new owner or his level of investment. What we (or some of us) do know is that history has proven we need to wait some time before judging how great life at SFC will become.
-
Personally I don't think Wotte is the man for the job. Has he been successful so far? It is critical the next manager is capable of meeting the new owner's 5 year plan - and given the backing to complete it. We know what happens when clubs change managers too often. I also don't think we need a director of football for two reasons; 1. We are not big enough to support the extra salary, bonus, etc. 2. We don't need one. Sir Alex doesn't have one and neither did WGS when at SMS. I think this role can cause problems for the manager. Let's have MLT on the board but not active in daily footballing matters - other than free kick and penalty coach (I am serious).
-
Exactly. SFC will be on a tight budget next season. No point in having anything other than positive cash flow from non footy operations and the radio station is not a money maker.
-
How about Claus as the team bus driver?
-
Great posts chaps! As I sit watching the cup final on Fox sports, I remember our day of glory! Lets hope for more happy days in the future.
-
are they still broadcasting or has it stopped?
-
I am not blaming any posters for our predicament. I only commment that some people are crazy to have wanted admin regardless of RL or anyone else. Admin is bad news all round.

-

I understand they can also be purchased from the megastore!!

sorry it just won't happen. He is very careful with his money and how it is invested. He is very passionate about footy in general and Celtic in particular - but not as an owner.
