  1. In my opinion there should never have been a period of exclusivity. If there were no deadlines to meet it would not be a problem, but when SFC is facing extinction, why put all the eggs in one basket? Fry's statement also makes me believe he thinks the Pinnacle deal is not all it seems...
  2. All valid points 1 - 4, BUT, the Pinnacle bid was 'sold' to the fans as a several hundred milllion dollar investor with a 5 yr plan. This did not mean SFC would get several hundred million but it did give the impression of deep pockets from one person. Now it's all changed in 24 hours despite almost a month to complete. Surely it's only natural for people to be cynical and feeling we've been duped? What do you think of the Emperor's new clothes?
  3. TL's credibility could be restored if he came clean and admitted the man with several hunded million has either backed out or is still there but now joined by others. If there is no one with this type of money then TL will forever be walking under a firkin dark cloud.
  4. I've been saying for ages the Echo is crap for reporting SFC. One day they are positive, the next negative. They are just a bunch of kids in their first job. No offence to kids in first jobs, but the paper always used to have a more balanced and less sensational response to SFC. Is there a sports editor is it down to the ego maniac Murray? I guess it really is about selling papers and not chasing down information and unbiasd reporting. Sadly the plight of SFC has not helped itself either. Lynam was very gullible if he thought the paper and this site would give unconditional support to Pinnacle because of MLT.
  5. I don't believe anyone on here wanted to see a takeover fail. In fairness to GM, he wanted everyone to show some caution instead of getting too carried away.
  6. I think it probably just snow balled out of control. Maybe they really did have a very wealthy backer at the start (or still do) and then things started to fall apart. By then it was too late to stop the euphoria and TL fell in love with his media spotlight. Perhaps FF can write a chapter on this sorry saga.
  7. 2am in LA and I had to take a quick look at the latest goings on at SFC. Sadly things have gone from bad to worse in no time at all. Lowe and WIlde must be wetting themselves.
  8. Anyone with a different opinion to some posters on here must be anti Saints.
  9. Well put. I also think that any club trying to spend within its means in the Premiership will risk the fans anger by not trying to compete with the big money clubs; "lack of ambition", etc. Without the billions any fan should be content with mid table mediocrity in this league I think Stoke and Wigan have done an exceptional job. The rules are the rules and are expected to apply to all FL clubs. Accept the punishment and move on - or move off and give the chance to someone else.
  10. The FL is not governed by British law. Everyone knows this, get over it. **** or get off the pot.
  11. Maybe the only point of this thread is to make everyone aware that until we know there is truth in the reports of a very wealthy backer (several hundred million), we should not yet open the champagne in celebration of a new dawn.
  12. looks like the airbags hit his teeth and nose
  13. makes you wonder if administration was such a good thing as some on here believe..
  14. I think you will find that no one in the media is that bothered. They get their information from this site, hence so many bizarre Echo stories! Personally, I do find the secrecy has now gone on for too long. How do we know that the Pinnacle offer will be better than any new bidder (except MJ)? We don't, yet are expected to back Pinnacle. They may well be close to reaching the end of fans blind faith. Time is running out very quickly.
  15. My sentiments entirely as a fan. However, if it was my money buying the club, I would want to make damn sure I was getting the best price I could and the -10 points could have a major impact on the club at the end of the season, if we do very well...
  16. A company can't cancel a contract purely based on price without giving sufficient notice as stated in the contract terms and condtions. Maybe this is what they have done.
  17. We may have fallen upon hard times, but at least we have these memories. I don't think Norwich or Charlton (and most other clubs) can look back at having one player that made such a difference.
  18. When a company changes ownership all contracts are reviewed and notices sent to suppliers and customers where there is a legal agreement. Pretty standard stuff.
  19. Familiar words such as too many managers and instability.... Dickov clearly rates Pearson.... very sad article.
  20. Different circumstances. The Telegraph were given information that was 100% fact and would stand scrutiny. The Echo trolls around fans websites and prints rumours they think will sell papers. I've been ****ed off with how they report on SFC for some time. I think they are deliberately negative for no good reason.
  21. If any of you chaps are coming to sunny LA for your hols please PM me and maybe we can meet for a beer or BBQ at my house. We're not far from LAX. It would be good to meet some of you. CT
  22. what a credit to Portsmouth the young fans have become. I hadn't realised the city is a suburb of London - great accents.
  23. if we move on some of the fringe/not even fringe players we may well be able to get some seasoned CCC players that can provide the balance we need. how much is Pulis taking per week?
  24. I still don't understand that deal. Burnley couldn't believe it either!
  25. and when they ask for our opinion and don't like the answer tell us to shut up! Hang on, this seems familiar somewhere else....
