42 league appearances is not completely inexperienced, more appearances than many currently in the team. Sounds like a reasonably decent move this one, only slight problem may be if he gets recalled at end of November.

Don't think theres anything wrong with positive messages. I think though that the messages put out on the OS appear to be bland, rehashes of previous messages (I'm sure I've read most of this one before "penned" by Claus), and not heart felt. There is never anything of any real substance or interest on the OS. They used to have interviews with players, coaches etc., but now its just soundbites. They should look at web sites for other clubs, there are things of interest to read for the customers (sorry supporters) telling then what is going on at the Club. Maybe they should instead take the lead from Merlion Homes web site, and say it is under maintenance. After 2 years maybe people will become suspicious though.

http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/?page_id=10815 Special captain's plea. I think he was passed the script by Claus, and a few bits were added about dire financial position. I suspect the accounts are about to be published, though they will tell us nothing of the current situation.

Of course, you're right about the party, sorry about that, memory going with old age. But the observation still holds, since the Referendum Party have similar views to UKIP. Although ostensibly they were simply seeking a referendum (neutral) they did not generally field candidates in constituencies where the incumbent was euro-sceptic.

Find it hard to believe that neither John, Saga or Ras individually would help us pick up 10 points in a season. Most people know thats what strikers do. Recall SJ's hattrick against Hull last season, that was 3 points, its not hard to find 3 wins and a draw gained by an experienced striker, even Ras who I like least of these 3 would surely do enough in a season to add 10 points to our total. Incidentally I don't believe that we will go into administration during the season, there is too much that can be done to avoid it, but if we are relegated then administration will follow as sure as night follows day. By the way, I never said we were "cut adrift" - this is a term that implies no way back (cut being the operative word). We are undoubtedly "adrift", there is a gap of 2 points between us and a non-relegation place. The problem also is where you think we will pick up points. A home draw is not "picking up points", it is and always has been "points dropped". We cannot win at home, and we won't while we effectively play 1 up front (whether or not that transforms into 2 or 3 or even 4 for short periods), especially when the 1 up front is an inexperienced youngster.

I think this is rubbish (bit of course could never be proven). An experienced manager who understands the English Championship would I am sure be getting better results from what we have. If not then you are saying that JP is as good as Fergie. He isn't, he is third rate, out of his depth. Its obvious for all to see that we have talented players, but JP does not understand how to to blend those talented players with the mediocre ones he also has, how to blend youth and experience, how to put together a strong spine of a team, and how to change tactics. There have been rare occassions this season when the team has played really well, clearly demonstrating that we could do better. We do not have to stick with this 3rd rate dross (nice guy that he is).

Wilde lives in Burley, at least during the time when he is allowed into the country
-
Gloucestershire actually. His pile is about 8 miles south east of Cheltenham. As farms go its not that big, he evidently only empoys 1 person. What makes me laugh is that he was a candidate for UKIP, and yet when it comes to football he wants to embrace Europe. Seems a little contradictory to me.

There is little Leon can do at the moment, except in the background try to put a deal together. Although he is the 2nd biggest shareholder, and has some allies that give him a significant power base, it is not enough to oust Wilde, let alone Wilde and Lowe. The only way to get Lowe out at present is for the Lap Dog to about turn again, even he must be finding it difficult to continue sucking up to Lowe.
-
Surman was injured I believe according to the radio. In theory nothing lost, because the ref should add 30 seconds on for each substitution, though in practice doesn't always happen. More to the point would be why had JP not used his 3rd sub earlier in the game? I know its not compulsory, but fresh legs with 10 or 15 to go can give a team a boost. JP seems to be as daft as Burley was when it comes to subs.
-
Presumably SJ did not give the same ultimatum to Gary Johnson, I see he only came on as sub after 60 minutes. This is clearly nonsense from Wilde. Even if SJ did make this ultimatum (and perhaps he had a point with McG getting picked ahead of him), Wilde could still have said, no and not sent him out on loan. Compete and utter ****** from Wilde IMHO. Thats why I dislike Wilde even more than I loathe Lowe, because Wilde cannot be honest.

Relief that we didn't lose, relief that we socred, sounds like the team played better, but in the end still only 1 home win all season, and that is certain relegation form. Those who don't worry because they say they thought it would be a result to stay up are plain blind to the obvious, that is that we could do better with a coach who knows what he is doing, and with a mix of experience and youth. The financial savings of shipping out our 2 top strikers will pale into insignificance when we are relegated. Believe me, unless something drastic is done very soon that is where we are heading. As many Lowe luvvies were saying a while back, the table does not lie. We are now adrift of the pack, and being caught by Forest.

19th Nervous Breakdown?

Skacel at the ATM, so Lowe is right that his appearance money is too much
-
Think a "Stern" pep talk is taking the **** somewhat
-
I actually find Wilde more loathsome than Lowe. At least Lowe sticks by his principles.
-
True, grand wasn't quite the word I was looking for, I just don't think Wilde warrants a name such as that, although descriptively it is quite apt.

How much does it cost to run the floodlights at SMS?
VectisSaint replied to Window Cleaner's topic in The Saints
Floodlights will be on for most afternoon games from now until March anyway, unless kick-off is brought forward by an hour or so. So would make very little difference. -
I agree, prefer Lap Dog or Poodle myself. Quisling seems to be too grand a term for one of such insignificance.

Sadly this is the rubbish that Lowe wants you to believe. Some experienced management would almost certainly get these youngsters, with a blend of experience playing better and getting more points than a third rate, inexperienced head coach who clearly has no understanding of the English game. Jan is a nice bloke who has been put in a position that he has no qualifications for, and no experience to fall back on to help him. I would not boo him or call for his head, because anyone in his position would have grasped the opportunity with both hands and hoped that things would turn out better. Ferguson would for sure have got better results from the team, largely because he would have stuck with the basics that the players have grown up with and fully understand, and he would also have looked around the other divisions and brought in cheap, honest experieinced pros to give the talented youngsters some experience and muscle. Lastly, and by no means least, when Lowe walked in and told him that he had to loan out his 3 top strikers, Ferguson would have said "**** off you ****", and thrown several cups and boots at him. It is the people that believe there is no option who are the ones who have given up. We are being killed off by bad decisions by mad men who do not understand either football or finances.
-
I heard Lowe say he was going to tell the supporters to "bogof"
-
I guess you didn't read the article or my comments then. You would have seen the parallels with experiments, directors of football, coaches who don't know the English league, coaches who can't motivate players, and especially getting rid of your 3 top strikers.
-
I wouldn't include Hoos in that lot. I know Wilde appointed him, but I for one wish we had Lee back now. Hoos and Cowan with Crouch's backing would in my mind represent a far brighter prospect than Lowe and Lap Dog. Hoos is at least still gainfully employed as a football club director, whereas to the best of my knowledge Hone and Duieu have crawled back into the holes from whence they came.

We should have kept and played both. The luxuries we cannot afford are Pulis, Gasmi, Robertson, Smith and BWP.
