Hope it's a loan, Charles is going to be a good player, just needs some consistent game time to get his confidence back.

Also known as Les Miserable

I know, I read it after I posted. I don't believe he can be any worse than AM playing out with his feet (not sure I would take views of Wolves fans as an accurate assessment) , so the fact he is a better 'traditional' keeper makes it a slam dunk for me.
-
He's only 36, just over a year older than McCarthy (Willy will be 43 next month for comparison). Not really that old for a keeper. He can't be any worse than AM playing out, and he is also no doubt a better shot stopper. Currently earning £0 per week as he is out of contract.

Each?
-
Is he 6'2, with eyes of blue?
-
Codswallop. He had no chance of saving the shot after his cockup. Joelinton's (?) shot was also expertly placed. I know AM had a howler, but it's actually not much good keeping a clean sheet if we can't score, it's valid to say he cost us a point, but that's all.

From what I can find out, Big Les does not count as one of the PL loans because he is u21. Possibly he doesn't count because he isn't a club-trained player (for 3 years), I think he has only been Chelsea for one season. PL U21 loans don't count if they have been club trained for 3 years.
-
I find it a bit silly when people talk about save ratios and saves after yesterday. McCarthy's performance yesterday was nothing to do with shot stopping. No one ? would have saved that goal yesterday. The cockup was his attempted pass/clearance which was abysmal. I'm not in any way defending AM but let's at least recognise the problem and not make things up.

But we equally could have done much worse. Yours is a classic case of Never Satisfied 😉
-
Surely have to go through a 6 week apprenticeship on understanding the way we play before they can feature.
-
Not really sure I was blaming the club, as you seem to have interpreted. Clearly he wasn't a waste of money, in fact it sounds like he may have been a bargain. But we weren't able to manage him, whether anything more could have been done is open to debate, but clearly he wasn't beyond help. I wasn't very impressed when he was here.and was more than a little surprised to read the Wolves thing today. There are people able to manage these mavericks, clearly we didn't have such people. I'll stand by what I said though, he wasn't a waste of money.

The new captain of Wolves. Not so much we wasted money on him, but we wasted his talent.
-
I believe the only restriction is 2 from (different) PL Clubs. No restriction on loans from elsewhere. But I could be wrong.

Who was the last signing that genuinely got you excited?

I remember being quite pleased when Ron Davies signed. -
So that's Stephens up front then. 😉

To be honest anyone with half a brain cell (and that might not include Stan) would predict us finishing 20th at the moment. That doesn't mean we will, but it would be the most logical prediciton.
-
We have not improved on the squad that finished 4th last season. We are actually worse than we were then. The only area we are better now is defence and we are still expected to lose KWP. Attacking wise we are definitely worse off still. We have lost Armstrong, Fraser, Brooks, Rothwell and Adams, and gained BBD (upgrade on Adams) and Lallana (maybe a step up on Rothwell, if he actually plays). Alcaraz played for us last season so you can't say he is an improvement, and it's debatable anyway. Only other one who you could say is improvement is Dibling. Still need a striker, AM and Goalkeeper to be better than last season in a more difficult league (and strengthen in DM). Not looking hopeful.
-
Edit, Lazio were very interested in Charly Alcaraz 🙂
-
Maybe he will be suspended for the next "friendly"
-
OK, keep your hair on. 😱

I am reasonably sure I read somewhere that Charles had said no to Celtic, not surprising, the Celtic/Northern Ireland thing is an issue that some do not appreciate, I have no idea if Shea would have this issue, but he might. Obviously he is not actually from Northern Ireland, only qualifies through his Mother (I think). A loan to Rangers might be more appealing to him, but then that does not help us with O'Reilly. Alcaraz is the better bet for a loan, but then that doesn't really help us does it, we have to hope that he can provide more for us than he has shown in the past, we have so few options in AM at the moment.
-
We aren't clearly stronger than last season. THB and Downes were here last season. We've lost Armstrong, Brookes, Fraser, Rothwell and Adams, and look to be losing KWP. We are certainly better in defence and DM is the same, but we are nowhere near in attacking positions. Bright spots are that Dibling and SAA will hopefully bring a lot more than they did last year.
-
Probably because he was marginally better than having no-one else. Agreed he wasn't very good, but he still contributed something, as far as i can see he he hasn't been replaced.
-
We aren't as good in MF. We are down Armstrong, Rothwell, Fraser and Brooks, afraid Alcaraz and Lallana (if fit) don't make up for that.
