I was going to predict Chelsea at home first but considering that's what this year's "leaked copy" has predicted, I think I'll change to Brentford away.

10 caps and already first choice is seriously impressive for a 20 year old keeper.

Kick-ins instead of throw-ins: a potential rule change!

But why not? Change is part of life. -

Because it can quite easily be changed back again if it doesn't work. There's no harm in trailing it it. -
Tino doing light gym work already!

Why? Change is part of life. There's no harm in trying it and if it doesn't work, they can go back. -
Excellent post

Trading Salisu's throws for JWP's kicks may be the best upgrade in professional sports history. -
Quite correct. He had Fonte and VVD in front of him who were themselves covered by Wanyama and Morgan.

All awful. Every one of them.

Davis had good games against City and United respectively, in the first 3-4 games of the season.

I'm pleased but quite bored of the PL now. As someone who started supporting Saints literally a few months before we we relegated, I always just really wanted us to come up even just for a season just to have supported Saints for a full season in the PL. The novelty has well and truly warn off and tbh I think most things were better in The Championship; Better fans, better atmosphere's, more unpredictability.`

Oh yeah, that was a weird few years. The very first thing I remember hearing about that was when we signed Jos Hoovield and it was stated as major importance that he was left footed so played on the left of a pair. Then every club, pundit and fan was talking that system up for a few years and now it's gone away again.

I refuse to believe that there are actual Saints fans who believe that Eriksen on a free transfer would be a bad deal...
-
Believe me, so am I!

Must have been 2005 I started supporting them then because the first manager I remember was Wigley. I do remember others being around ie Strachan, Hoddle etc but I was a late bloomer in football supporting terms so I only really got into football when I was about 14. So I kinda remember the previous managers being around and hearing their names in conversation.

I think I remember someone on here or Reddit or whatever a couple of years ago saying their son had just been released age 16 and Saints helped him find a new club and kept tabs on him etc. So I believe our aftercare has massively improved. Football is a business, clubs are brands, players are employees and fans are customers. That's the way it is. I don't see why players should show any kind of loyalty when they don't get the same back.

I went to school with the boy, I was a year above him. What nobody seems to remember in their pretentious "OMG THERE'S NO LOYALTY IN FOOTBALL FROM PLAYERS" quests is that when he was about 11, we cast him aside like an empty bag of crisps with no aftercare what so ever and from what I remember, it wasn't even a particularly nice way of letting him go either. Something like a letter or a templated email to his parents I seem to recall. Funny how that's always overlooked.

Not wanting Ings back on practical grounds such as transfer fees, injury issues etc is one thing but anyone who wouldn't have him back purely because he left needs to get a grip. There aren't any on here as far as I've seen but the Twitter/Facebook comments are ridiculous. He left for a job at a bigger company and significantly more money. I'd have done the same and unlike Ings I have an actual affiliation to the club (he isn't a Saints fan contrary to popular belief). I wouldn't pay £15 Million for him as suggested above but I'd probably go to £10 Million.

Slightly before my time.

I believe he was before 2004

I've supported Saints since 2004 and in all that time, I'm pretty sure Nigel Adkins was the only manager we've ever poached from another club.

"Commenting on his appointment, Sellés said: “It’s exciting for me to work in one of the top teams in the Premier League" Erm...What? Have we told him some porkies?

Alan Bennett against Palace is probably the worst I've ever seen. Came back into the team in a home game with Cardiff a couple of months later and played a blinder though.
