  1. I didn't notice that.
  2. They don't make them like him anymore. I was a late bloomer in football and only got into it after he'd retired...Saw him a few times for Eastleigh though and met him a few times, top bloke.
  3. Anyone else think JWP looked a lot more physically strong then he did last season?
  4. What about that Romeo fellow that was at Chelsea? Dunno whatever happened to him...
  5. Boufal is an amazing talent. He just needs to add common sense to his game.
  6. I like Gaston. Shame it never worked out for him here but comes across as a great pro. Always had flashes of ability and talent but never able to do it consistently.
  7. Odd choice. I can think of two or three of HIS that were better than that one. Still class though.
  8. I think he'll stay. Reminds me of the Schiederlin affair a few years ago. Didn't play all pre-season and then was in the team for the first day.
  9. Good grief...
  10. Delph?! Smalling?! Do you know how much they'd both cost and apart from anything else, they're ********!!! Bloody hell, if that's ambition then I'm glad we don't have it!
  11. Absolutely not. They're a minor irritance, nothing more.

    Josh Sims

With no Europa League to play this season and a fair few ahead of him in the pecking order, I wouldn't be surprised to see him go out on loan this season.
  13. Puel...Credit?! What a whacky idea! But yeah Stephens looked alright.
  14. I'd be tempted to sell VVD for the £70 Million that's been rumoured and sink a load of that money into signing GS. We'd also have the J-Rod money and any money we had anyway. I don't want VVD to leave but he won't be here in 18 months so why not just sell him now when there's a player we could get who's EXACTLY what we need rather than waiting a year, probably getting a slightly lower fee and having to shop around again for unproven players. If we sell now, we'd be able to afford GS and a good replacement and another player too. Though I did say I'd be tempted, my mind isn't definitely made up that that's what I want us to do. I'd be ecstatic if VVD stays. I just think if he does go this month, there's a silver lining.
  15. Good news all round. Him and Gallagher could be a very handy partnership in a couple of years.
  16. I had assumed Gallagher was J-Rod's replacement tbh.
  17. HOJ has the makings of a very good player IMO. I'm quite a big fan of us. Classie, not so much.
  18. In this hypothetical scenario, VVD plays and is happy to do so.
  19. Personally, I wouldn't be THAT bothered. I like our squad as it is, we have the advantage a lot of teams don't of having a very good academy. We have signed a decent (never seen him play, going by reports and FM) young CB. I would like a ball playing midfielder who could make runs off the ball through the middle but perhaps Pellegrino can get that sort of play out of Boufal. Other than that I don't think, assuming no one leaves, of a position that we desperately need anyone in.
  20. Presumably that's just fitness and gym work etc.
  21. He was actually linked with a loan deal to us in our Championship season as he wasn't in favour at Arsenal.
  22. Was wondering where VVD is, feared the worst. The trouble with all this transfer talk is I completely forgot about his injury. Also who is Aaron O'Drisscoll and is he any relation to our old friend Sean?
  23. I am actually quite content with our squad the way it is with no Europa League. Provided no one leaves, all I want is a ball playing midfielder who makes off the ball runs through the centre. If we buy that and no one leaves, I'd be happy.
  24. Wasn't that the under 18s?
  25. You have to allow for his position though. CBs take longer to mature than any other outfield player because of how much of their game relies on experience.
