I wouldn't mind this as a squad player. Would bring a lot of experience, still decent cover and would be handy to have on as a coach or scout or something in a year or so when he retires. I doubt this is true though as we don't really need a forward. When J-Rod and Gallagher come back there is gonna be some serious selection headaches.

This. Being selfish and greedy isn't always a bad thing in football, infact for a striker it can probably count as an attribute and having an unselfish player like Tadic is the perfect balance. Selfishness is something we lacked a bit last season, we scored goals but we dominated most games and chances sometimes wern't finished off because our players were too unselfish and kept wanting to pass to their team mates. I'm glad Pelle's a bit greedy

We had a season review DVD for our first season back up because I remember picking it up in the Saints shop to buy it then looking at the price and changing my mind

It's often the butt of jokes to play down one team's win "when's the DVD coming out then?" but we have one for the 6-3 over United and the two 3-2 wins over Arsenal and probably a few more. Brighton and Skatesmuff are pretty tinpot for bringing out DVDs of beating us 3-1 and 4-1 but surely 8-0 warrants one? Joint 2nd best highest PL win in history, Saints biggest top flight (and therefore Premier League) win in history. If they start now they could have it out in time for Christmas! Do it, Saints!

Saints 8 (Eight) Sunderland 0 - Match and Reactions
Bad Wolf replied to Unbelievable Jeff's topic in The Saints
I think we beat some tinpot team 6-3 a few years ago -
It's not just you but that doesn't mean there was anything in it. This was touched upon at the time by people on here, Solent and the Echo. It was also noted that Adkins gave a very odd interview which went something along the lines of "I feel great but one day there's gonna be a parting of the ways and that'll be a sad day"

I would also like to see this!

Not quite sure how I forgot to mention Markus Leihberr and Nicola Cortese too who were instrumental to our success

Was just talking about our 4-3 home defeat by Leeds with a friend, when we were 3-0 up and I started watching it on YouTube (glutton for punishment I guess) but on the right hand side on the "suggested videos" bit, a link came up of our 4-0 win over Coventry City that took us back to the Premier League and I started watching it and it really made me marvel at how far our club has come in the last few years or so and how easy it can be to forget those who helped us along the way that are no longer with us (the club, not dead). Dean Hammond, Dan Harding, Papa Waigo, Mikeal Anthonio, Guly Do Prado, Jos Hoovllid and of course Nigel Adkins and Alan Pardew. It also makes me feel amazed at how certain other players that have progressed as well since those dark times. Lallana and Lambert mainly as well as those that are still with us, Fonte, Cork, Schiederlin. Special mention also to Kelvin Davis who was here right from the dark days of Championship struggling, had the chance to leave for a PL team while we were in league one, almost took the chance but stayed loyal to us when he heard it was all sorted out here. We've had some real good times over the last 5 years or so and some names that will probably never go down as "Saints legends" but played their part and helped us to where we are now. There's no real reason for sharing this video, it's not an anniversary or anything like that but I thought I'd post on here anyway, just for the heck of it. I really do ****ing love this club. If you have a spare half an hour, sit back, enjoy and remember this great day....

::Edit:: ********, forgot Marian Pahars I'll put him in on the bench ahead of Kenwyne Jones

Meh, bad weekend but for a bit of fun, probably been done already but what is your favourite XI? You can only use players who have played when you've supported Saints. Doesn't have to be the best XI in history, just players that you particularly like with 7 subs I'll go: ________________________Kelvin Davis______________________ _________Michael Svensson______Claus Lundekvam____________ Alexander Ostlund_________________________________________Luke Shaw __________________Jack Cork_____Victor Wanyama_____________________ Adam Lallana___________________________________________Djemel Belmadi _________________Rickie Lambert___________________________________ _____________________________Grzegorz Rasiak_______________________ Bench: Fraser Forster, Jose Fonte, Inigo Idiakez, Jhon Viafara, Kenwyne Jones, Nathaniel Clyne, Dean Hammond

Mane reminds me of a PL version of Michael Antonio

We aren't going to win this

Yeah I'd noticed pubs wern't showing live games anymore (unless of course they're on TV anyway). I'll just be out and about tonight without my laptop and thought it was worth a try asking on here. Thanks for the info
-
Anyone know of any in Southampton that show all Saints games on stream?
-
Does anyone know of any pubs in the Southampton area that are showing the game? (Assuming it's not on TV anyway, of course, I haven't seen that it is)

Only saw the first half yesterday but was just wondering how Gardos looked. Did he seem comfortable as a PL player? Any indication as to what his strengths/weakness' are?
-
This. 100%
-
Won't be the same without Waigo, Hammond and Connolly though
-
I have a vague memory of Grzegorz Rasiak going on loan to Bolton, in the division higher and because they paid such a big fee (considering it was only a half season loan) there was no recall option AND he could play against us if we got them in the cup. I might be wrong though
-
I'll go: -----------------Forster------------------------- Clyne-------Fonte----------Alderweireld-----------Bertrand -------------------Wanyama---------------------------------- ----------Cork--------------Schneiderlin-------------------- Long-------------------------------------------Tadic -------------------Pelle------------------------------------- Bench: Boruc, S.Davis, Yoshida, Mane, JWP, Gallagher, Targett
-
Confirmed Sad but we'e out grown him. Was never a PL player but his midweek goals. All the best, Jos!
-
I read the other day from Brighton's official website that Sammy Lee was nailed on to join their back room staff. I take it that happened? What mugs they must have looked if it didn't.
-
Dundee are my second team so taking advantage the opportunity to watch them which I rarely get the chance to do! Celtic look gash without him (though tbh they looked gash with him). Tater just said that the reason he's not in the squad today is because his wife/girlfriend is expecting a baby any time and he's not focused on football (fair play). But they also said he'll be staying at Celtic. With that and the fact that Koeman said we're not after another CB, I think this one's probably dead. Does look quality though, best thing we can do is keep an eye on him through the next 10 months and see if he has another consistent season. Would be delighted to see him join us next season.

I thought he was great today. Even on the one occasion that he ****ed up, he worked hard, got the ball back, passed it into the middle and rectified his mistake. Been away so didn't see the first two games but I went to the friendly at SMS and thought he was solid in that as well. I really hope the rumours of a buying clause are true. Great signing from what I've seen
