  1. That was justified. Apart from his last 5-6 games for us he was absolutely crap. Most of the abuse Jermaine Wright got what terrible. He was nowhere near as bad as everyone made him out to be and he was played out of position most of the time. He wasn't brilliant by any means but when he played CM, he wasn't THAT bad. Jason Euell took a massive amount of stick but similar to Jermaine, he was played out of position. He was constantly played on the wing when he was a striker. When he played upfront, again, he wasn't terrible.
  2. Do you mean Hugh Dennis?
  3. Mane's gone to the African cup of Nations and thus unavailable.
  4. Good shout. It really is a shame that the man himself isn't here to see his vision come true but who knows, maybe he's watching on from above, sharing a glass of whiskey with Ted Bates and taking pictures with the best personal digital camera available in Heaven!
  5. 8th? Can he not play against Ipswich then?
  6. Thanks for the tip off. Was gonna just pay on the day but I think I might stroll up today and get mine to be on the safe side.
  7. Didn't Di Matteo (or whoever was Chelsea manager at the time) get sacked after we came back from 2-0 down to get a 2-2 at Stamford Bridge? Sounds safe. It's when they start saying that they have nothing to worry about and have the chairman's backing etc that you know they'll be gone soon.
  8. Mane was fantastic. Man of the match for me. Absolutely brilliant. 9/10, only not able to receive a 10 because he took too long to cross a ball in the 2nd half and he went down too easily at one point too. Other than that he had a perfect game. Goal and an assist but even without those he still had a brilliant game. Full marks to him.
  9. Gardos, Mane and Morgan start.
  10. He's obviously just had some bad experiences with Saints fans, shame really howeverut all clubs have ****s as fans. But middle class!? WTF? I actually don't mind Palace. I felt sorry for them when P*mpey stuck out a weak team against West Brom and our fishy friends cheered WBA on, wearing their shirts etc because that result had **** all bearing on us, it actually ended up screwing Palace as they got a point that day. I think I'm also one of the very few people in the country that actually quite likes Neil Warnock.
  11. I'll admit it, I like Fairy Stories. Lambert was a legend for us, he always will be but like another poster said, his story has come full circle. To come back here would be ruining the Fairy Story a bit. His time with us came to an end 6 months ago, it was very sad but we all got over it and besides anything else he's not better than Pelle and we also have Long and Gallagher for cover there, not to mention J-Rod coming back. I know the above poster has addressed those options and I wouldn't mind us bringing in someone who can play as a lone striker but I really don't think that someone is Lambert. I don't think getting Lambert back would make sense on anyone's part tbh. I think he'll retire with Liverpool. As a player that is, I'd love to see him back here in some sort of coaching capacity one day.
  12. Great picture! Best I've seen this season. Thank you for sharing that.
  13. Hasn't looked his best for about a month now. This may do him good but it'll show that even though we have more depth than last season, our squad is still paper thin. Nearly had a heart attack when I first read the thread title, I thought it said "released"!
  14. You suggesting he should start?
  15. Very strange team selection. Wasn't expecting Hesketh to start but then he didn't do badly on Monday night, a few good touches and knew where his team mates were. Also, I think I'd start Long ahead of Mane and use Mane as an impact sub. Especially as Burnley are a very physical side, Long will be better equipt to deal with that IMO. Amazing that some people genuinely want players out for Tuesday, incredible that people don't seem to want to go through. Sheff Utd maybe 2 leagues below us but they'll be up for it and as it's at their home ground I'd say we need to play our strongest team. I want to win it. This could be our best chance to win a major cup for years but each to their own I guess.
  16. Just me that wouldn't take him back? (apart from maybe on a free with a pay cut as a squad player). Not just because of the way he left us but there's the fact he's now been found out. I'd also not put him in the team ahead of Fonte, Gardos, Alderwerield or Yoshida. Maybe that's a bit of angry bias showing through though but he really isn't THAT good, I saw an article the other day which claimed he was our most error prone defender last season and with seeing how he's played for Liverpool so far, for me I'd rather have our first choice 4 CB's there than him. Like I said, maybe I'm being a bit biased.
  17. £10 is surprisingly brilliant value. I'll be there.
  18. Mane is this season's Papa Waigo/Anthonio. Bags of pace, bags of skill but doesn't know when to pass and when to shoot. Why the **** did he not shoot after taking on about 3 United defenders through the middle? Still, he's only about 21 isn't he? Maybe that will come with experience. We look like we need 4-5 chances to score, United, with players like Mata, RVP, Rooney will only need one. Pelle was terrible till he got the goal then all of a sudden he looks like the best player on the pitch. Shows you what a confidence player he is.
  19. I think he played well on Wednesday and over the last 3-4 games he's had literally **** all service. Anyone watching Jamie Redknapp on Sky Sports? He looks like he's trying to copy Pelle's dress sense and hair.
  20. It always frustrates me when the team that's just beaten us loses straight after. Makes me wonder why we couldn't have done that. In other news: Dan Seabourne has scored for Partick Thistle. Just wiki'd him (to double check the team), he's only 27! I thought he was a lot older than that. He must have been about 23 when we signed him then. Didn't realise how young he is.
  21. I'd say it's more terrible news, brilliant news.
  22. Plymouth away please. Failing that, Eastleigh at home.
  23. He had his best game so far for us tonight. Fantastic.
  24. Actually, in the system we play with our overlapping fullbacks, Bertrand ends up getting more crosses in than the attacking wide man I think. If he played further up, he'd be getting less crosses in because Targett would be doing the overlapping into the good positions. In favour of who? It's not like Mane's been any better. I think Tadic has actually done okay in the last few games, it's just his crossing that's turned ****. His general play has still been alright.
  25. I still think the other 3 can come good. Gazzaniga is only a baby for a goalkeeper and Mayuka is still young and shows promise in small doses. Not 100% about Gaston though, I'm not sure he's cut out for the physicality and pace of the PL.
