I like that. We do have a slight lack of pace in the side...however Gabbi is quick off the mark and clever with his movement, and Boufal has a bit of pace with the ball at his feet, so should be okay. And 2 strikers! Hell yeah (no wonder Gabbi is smiling in that picture!!!) If we can get the midfield closer to the front two, with Gabbis movement playing off Carrillo, and assuming the rest of the team have been reminded how to pass forwards, we might see an actual goal or two.

Safe trip to all you guys heading up.
-
Exactly. No-one has thanked MoPe for his positive contribution to their development, or wished him well. The silence is extremely telling.

Jay-Rod scores against Bournemouth!

I have a good feeling about Hughes in the short term. Feels a bit like Strachan to me. The new style of communication and apparent honesty seems to have resonated with the fans....hopefully it will do so with the players. If he can instill some basic discipline and a more positive attitude to games then we've got a very good chance now. Really looking forward to seeing how we set up and play against Wigan.

Has anyone yet posed the "has he signed yet" question? If so, can I be the first with "What's taking so long, typical for Les to cock it up at the last minute."
-
Must be because the liked him SO much. Because they did, we were told this.
-
Which is perfect! Happy with this. Surely we had our sights on someone new in the summer anyway. So Hughes until then is an excellent deal.
-
Absolutely. However, beggars can't be choosers, and the 'quality' of the leadership at the club have led us to this position. I think Hughes gives us a FAR better chance of staying up; though I really hope it is a short term deal. Will be so annoyed if he gets longer than until the end of the season.

I just logged on to ask about sightings. Surely SOMEONE has airport/hotel/layby earlobe-recognition news for us?
-
Just to the end of the season please, then Potter or the Fulham guy in the summer. Although I doubt anyone would really take an 8-10 game deal with us would they?
-
A safe pair of hands?
-
You beat me to it!
-
Yes!!!!! I never want bad things on people, or celebrate others misfortune, but I'm delighted. MoPe.....learn from it, enjoy your money, and don't let the door hit you on your arse on the way out.
-
Agreed. That's what we NEED to do, as you say. However I can't think that that is what we actually WILL do. A strong leader or owner would never have let us get to this position.

In my dream world we have a new guy already lined up for the summer...someone up and coming, with fresh ideas, a degree of success behind him, who we could build a 'project' around, get back to the way we used to play and progress. Someone like Potter, the guy at Fulham...perhaps even Howe. Which is why MoPe is still here...because he's a gonna in the summer anyway, and who else would really come in just for a few months? The trouble with this dream world is that we'd start the new project in the Championship. MoPe is a ****ing nightmare.
-
Are we really, really unfit? The lack of tracking back, and general lack of movement was so noticable on MOTD.
-
Has he had a clear scoring chance yet?
-
Been thinking this for a while. So many stupid happenings. The sale of VVD was VERY dodgy for me....sell early, rather than force a bidding war? And do so without any replacements lined up? I can't believe the club is genuinely that daft.

MoPe/s after match interview: "We're growing. Good possesion in their half. We need to focus on the reality, not opinion...and in many ways we were the better side. I can only do so much....it is the players who need to make things happen. I am being paid a ****ing fortune, I have no idea how the hell I got this job, and there's no way I'm resigning...I want my pay off."
-
#TheSouthamptonWay. Gutless, clueless. Are the players bought into the ideas of 'The Master' MoPe?
-
Is Reed or Freddie there today?
-
It's okay. The high-pressing, energetic, attacking style that MoPe favours means we'll be back on top in no time.
