We played well today - though we have done for the last few games. Difference for me today was twofold..... Liverpool didn't park the bus, so there was more space in the final third; we had better movement and quicker passing in the final third than I have seen from us for a while. Big shout to Morgan who was excellent, Lallana who really could become a very good player, and J-Rod...gives us something we don't really have elsewhere: direct running and willingness to pull the trigger early. Could have been 5 or 6 too! COYRs.

In some ways this will be a 'easier' game than QPR.....more open, more suited to our pressing and more likely that we will create chances, as opposed to camping in their final third facing a parked bus. We're going to concede though. I'm predicting a thrilling 3-2 for Saints, with Suarez moaning and falling over every 5 minutes.

Damn right. Morgan was mentioned on another post......I seem to remember some comments only a few seasons ago about the stupidity of Lowe to pay so much for a young player, who wasn't immediately delivering. Hmmmmm........ Gaston will be very good for us.

Nearly scored, and showed some good touches. One or two flicks/clever passes which didn't come off because he was clearly far quicker of thought than the receiver. This guy is good, and will become superb. My frustration with him is lack of fitness; does seem to tire badly after 60 mins.

We did enough to win that. On another day Gastons lob goes in, J-Rod scores at least 1, AL scores into an empty net......OR, Yoshida scores an own goal and we concede a last gasp penalty. So can't complain about a point really. AL is not ht eplayer he was though. And some strange subs today.

Jos's passing is awful.

I do find it strange that Jos gets the nod over Forren. Surely he's fit now, and 'in the groove' with team mates? Have we signed a dud?

Overall our recruitment is poor. You can make a case that Lee was a decent signing, that hasn't worked out after injury. Clyne is decent, ditto Maya, Boruk and Davis. Gaston will come good, but hoped for more given the price tag. The rest....hmmm. Not convinced by J-Rod: why did we spend that much on him? Paulo - why? Mayuka and Forren - strange buys. Some knee-jerk signings; it doesn't feel like we actually have a plan. Wonder what the summer will bring.

Saw the last 6 minutes. Forren looks like he should be working at Kwikfit! As a poster above said, he don't look an athlete. Mark Wright has filled out. why is Evans wearing trainers and a suit? The presenter looks a dirty ******. Anyone have any views on the game for me?!!

Yep. The comedy duo undo us again. Jos has been half decent for a few games, but poor today. And I really don't think Fox is prem quality. We showed a few moments, but ultimately not our day.

It does. The Man City team the other week looked none to shabby either! We'll give a good account of ourselves, and there is no reason not to expect points. Gonna be a good game this one I feel.
