  1. Will that be on an Everton fans Whatsapp group?
  2. That is some stat..... The interesting thing is of course how many of those clubs are specifically set up to manage player/manager transitions. Ummmm. Us, and .........?
  3. Sitting having a pint in my local. Just struck me how it's not long ago we were wondering who might be better than Wotte and Porterloo. Now we're can seriously think about the likes of FdB, Emery etc. Cheers Markus! And you Kat. #wemarchon
  4. True dat.
  5. We *could* make the case that our managers role, if it becomes vacant in the next couple of weeks, is one of the most (if not the most) attractive positions available in world football this summer. Incredibly exciting league, with some huge name managers set to collide next season, new money, a club with ambition, a stable infrastructure and European football. What other 'big' jobs are out there right now? What other 'bigger' jobs than Saints? If/when it comes to it we will get some very interesting applicants. Exciting times.
  6. We need to keep score of the silly bids that go on. Will it be Everton or West Ham who make the biggests cocks of themselves?
  7. The remains of last nights curry staining his vest. The empty metallic container proved a useful substitute for a late night bathroom visit.......
  8. Here's an idea..... Pellegrini with Howe as his number two. Giving Eddie the chance to develop and learn his trade, so he can take over seamlessly in 2/3 years. Dream team?!
  9. Pellegrini or Emery for me. Probably prefer Pellegrini because of his EPL experience. Would bring some calmness, dignity and gravitas to the situation. Knows how to handle a joint EPL/European campaign, and has done well bringing through youth. He's said if he doesn't get a good offer this summer then he's retiring. So we could be his last club. He could be the guy to take us forward in the short term. (is there ever a 'long term' in footbal these days?) Of course the downside is our usual aim of going for younger, ambitious managers: so does he fit? Or does that really matter?
  10. We do need a 'like' button on this forum.
  11. It's obvious that chucking stupid ££££££ around may have paid off! Sixth highest paid manager in the world.
  12. Like.
  13. It was Ron who consistently said talks would happen after the season. What would be the alternative? Les saying '**** you, we talk now or never!' at some point during our last 6-8 games? Would that benefit the club?
  14. Lol. They can't spell toast.
  15. And no doubt Les and Kat will be asking the question "what do we need to do to keep you?" and then seeing what can be done within the structure and ideals our club works to.
  16. Bloody right. We need to get someone in wiv some passhun. What's Ron Atkinson up to these days?
  17. In this case what would be 'fight'? Us matching Everton's offer? And we end up employing the sixth highest paid manager in the world..........how does that fit with the very clear ethos of the club, as set out by the person who saved it?
  18. B Thought this would be the case. Which does bode well for us moving forward without him: he made statements about being ambitious and Saints needing to match his ambitions; which it would appear we did. At least until something else changed his mind. Perhaps 7m somethings.
  19. The facts aren't in peoples minds...they're facts. It's always our thinking around them that leads to fun and games. Based on habitual thinking patterns, our tendancy for uncontrolled mind wandering (and the human ability for stimulus independent thought). Add in differing levels of stress, the physiological changes that occur in line with this (tunnel vision, lack of big-picture thibking and negativity bias). I could go on. It's generally best to focus on the reality of the moment...i.e. the facts as you know them (rather than rumours and the emotional reaction to them). As I said in the previous post......I put aside by choice to focus on the factual element, and chose to step into the imaginary.
  20. Yep! However, should he go to Everton........ Is he doing it for 'the new stadium'.....given he'll be off to Arse/Barca/Holland job in a year or two anyway: so no. Is he unhappy about further player sales/rebuilding at Saints.....in light of the fact they'll be loads of this at Everton: not a factor...happens either way. Is he impressed by a £100M kitty..... that's not a lot of £ when you need 6-8 signings, plus any that leave. Is he interested in a massive payrise....could be. Is the job at Everton next season easier than the one at Saints? Yep.
  21. Okay - my first bit of speculation (putting aside my 'present mined' mind for now). Based on nothing more than Guan's posts!!!! Ron's off...and he's doing it for the money. We made a decent offer, and he was bought in to our ambition/vision. Hence the positive noises pre-holiday, the 'lawyers doing the detail' and the 'Everton get lost' stuff in the media. We needed to show ambition to Ron, and did so. Everton got the hump/decided he is their main man and offered silly money: new owner making a mark. We decided not to match. However the lure of the extra £££££, possibly coupled with the fact it will be easier (i.e. less expectation) at Everton next season that at Saints, has caused Ron a change of heart. Compensation will be sorted in the next few days. AVB will be the new manager. And it remains an amazing time to be a Saints fan.........in Europe, and we clearly have ambition and plans for development.
  22. Good spot!
  23. Appreciated. 'Very regrettable'. Hmmmmm..... I look forward to more. Have a virtual pint on me.
  24. Ohhh. Hello. Got anything to share? Can we assume from this post that he's had his head turned by £££££££?
