  1. Interesting. If nothing else it further underlines how far we have come in little over a year.
  2. Ditto!
  3. Read it; liked it. Was not what I expected at all. In many ways a very 'easy' read; but then again, its not. Good book. Now back to the Rebus series.......
  4. Too many so called 'experts' talk total ********. Much as I dislike Claridge for being a pikey fish-****ging Skate, he is actually a very good pundit: especially as regards the lower leagues. Considered, well balanced and knowledgeable. Bet he has more insight into the goings on at SMS than most of us too....
  5. 20 questions? Go on.... 1. Is he working at the moment?
  6. So shocked and saddened by this. Thankyou so much for everything you did for our club. I hope you know just close to the supporters hearts you are. RIP.
  7. Decided not to take him to the vet because: 1. He's completely 'himself' (aside from ****ing yesterday: no repeat perfomances today): still eating and acting the same; chasing his sister; sleeping on my lap; being a tart for cat-treats. Seems happy enough 2. It's a bugger to catch the little sod and he finds the trauma of a trip to the vet terrible (always ****s himself in the car): hard work having a 'rescue cat' 3. I'm lazy Today he has been fine: perhaps more chilled than usual, but then I've just got one of those plug in pheromone things. So, I think he'll get through it okay. I didn't even kick him after the game today. The Grisholm novel he ****ed on is ****ed though.
  8. Gaza strip?
  9. Not entirely on topic, but that tackle was bloody horrible. On another day that would've been a busted ankle. Wonder if the ref would have sent him of it he had caused a serious break?
  10. AP gone by Tuesday? Owen signs tomorrow? Lambert off to 'Boro?
  11. Hmmmmm. Not a real surprise given that we are Saints. Annoying thing is the apparent inability to score without Lambert. The crosses in the first half we tailor-made for him, BUT never ideal for Barnard/Connolly. Both good goalscorers, but have to be given the right kind of chances. Great for Rickie to attack a floated cross from deep positions, or hold up play for others to join; need something different for Barnard/Connolly. Best chance of the second half: Lallana got to the bye-line and pulled it back for Barnard to run onto. Not annoyed about loosing so much as feeling annoyed at the lack of a plan b.
  12. We look tidy, but really need to move the ball quicker. Too one-paced.
  13. New sitcom kicked off tonight, called 'Pete versus Life'. Twist being Sky Sports-stylee commentators chipping in, providing analysis, stats on past performance etc; particularly when he is having a ****. This is the funny bit. 'Ohh Tel, he's going for the love valley. Not his usual move; he's playing out of his skin tonight' type stuff.
  14. That about sums it up for me. In this league, that money gets us someone who is the finished article (for this league anyway). I'd love him to join: he might become a decent player, but not for silly cash.
  15. Actually thought it went downhill after the first 10 minutes: turned into a fairly standard sitcom. Will give it a go for another week though.
  16. 5 minutes in and I like it. Nice idea with the commentary. 'Ohhh, he's thinking of Wayne Rooney' (Cat's **** and TV: not the most exotic of Friday nights in truth).
  17. I've got 2 cats: boy and girl, bother neutered, 6 years old, had them for 5.5 years. A leftover from the ex-girlfriend. They are 'rescue cats' so pretty timid, but manageable. Never had any problems with them crapping or ****ing in the house. Well, I didn't...... 2 weeks ago one of them took a pee just inside the front door; very unusual and out of character. Few days later there was pee on the bathroom mat. Today I find my trainers have had the treatment, as has a jumper that was sat on the side in the living room. 5 minutes ago I looked round from an FM10 session, and the male cat is gleefully spraying **** all over my bookshelf. (Admittedly there was an unread John Grisholm on the shelf, so it might of been a literary comment......) Any cat owners offer some advice? Don't think he's sick: eating well, seems happy. Plus, I didn't think a neutered cat would have the urge to 'spray'.
  18. I had always pictured 'Hazel' as blonde. Cnl Woundwort however......
  19. Thinking back: he joined at 18 years old. And played a fair number of games in his first season - at a higher level than we are now. Surely he had interest from elsewhere? Makes the fact he has re-signed all the sweeter.
  20. But..but...but.... 'Free South Africa, you dumb ****' Love that film......no way anywhere near football related. For which I apologise.
  21. Really happy with this. A good keeper who could step in a do a job for us (as proved last season); and who will only get better. Still very young in GK terms. Great news. I reckon he will own the no. 1 shirt inside 3 seasons.
  22. Any sign of Seabourne?
  23. So is Pilchards there in an 'unofficial' capacity? We have our very own secret squirrel on the board?
  24. Good points. Would you rather Saints be top dogs for the next 20 years, or NEVER again beat them in a derby match; laugh at them getting stuffed a home to a nothing team; or **** yourself at their latest managers masage exploits? Hmmmmmm...
