Why would we get a work permit if west ham can't?
-
I don't think Napoli would pay 120k a week to Dzeko and of course we wouldn't either. Surely Dzeko will be off if City complete the signings of Negredo and Jovetic.

It would be a mistake to sell Ramirez at this point. He could do with a top class striker in the side to help him flourish. If we sign a striker and his game hasn't improved by the end of next season I would be surprised.

Which teams will improve or decline compared to last year....
saintrich replied to Olallana's topic in The Saints
On paper Swansea's squad looks better - some good signings. But will be difficult to improve on last seasons performance. Sunderland have done a lot of business so I think it'll be interesting to see how they do. They've downgraded on goalkeeper by losing Mignolet and replacing with Mannone. Giaccherini is a good buy, but they are rumoured to be letting Sessegnon leave. Graham going out on loan and Altidore coming in is an improvement - Altidore has improved a lot the last few years and whilst it's hard to judge by excellent form in the Dutch league, I also saw him for USA in a few games and he looked good. The rest of their signings I have no idea who they are... Just looking quickly you'd say West Brom will decline (certainly in league position anyway) Bd Norwich have made good buys and will improve. For Villa Okore seems a good buy and the way they improved at the end of last season suggest they should be ok, not sure about other signings + they could lose Benteke. Change of style for Stoke will also be interesting. -
Hi I recently purchased a CD and put it in my laptop - recognises it fine and comes up with the correct tracks... but my laptop starts making noises when you click on a song and it doesn't play whatsoever - when I go to import CD it imports very slowly, but again doesn't play the songs - this is on Itunes. When I try and play on Windows media player it comes up with a red cross next to each song when I click the song and comes up with 'error' when you hover over the cross. My laptop plays other CD's fine and imports fine - so I thought it may be a dodgy CD, which I bought from amazon. But I bought the same CD from HMV today and it doesn't play :S The CD in question is foals - antidotes, not sure if thats relevant, but I guess somebody would have asked. P.S the CD plays fine in a car stereo, just not in laptop. Any help appreciated.

Sky reporting that Swansea have joined race for Thomas Ince. People on the Cardiff forum getting worked up because of an article linking Wanyama to Liverpool.

I'm sure there are other decent midfielders out there for £12m who don't have **** agents.
-
I don't see the big deal about breaking up the partnership. The reason we done well when Cork came back into the team was that we had two decent defensive midfielders next to each other for once. Having three to pick from will be great. Previously Davis had played a few and so did Ward-Prowse - neither of whom are natural defensive midfielders and later played further forward.

Swansea home will be moved to Sunday 6th October due to Europa league. Our away game with Swansea will be Ok, unless they get to the semi finals. Home game with Spurs does not clash with Europa league, while away game would be moved if they made the last 16 of the competition. Who knows about TV fixtures though...

Verdu was the main headline on the back page of the daily echo today.. waste of an article.

Not heard Kana-Biyik's named mentioned for a while. Lots of people were raving about him in the previous two transfer windows.

Mauricio Pochettino: The Argentine at Southampton with big plans

Just tweeted the author. Definitely in. Can't wait for the transfer window. -
I think we should try for Angelo Ogbonna from Torino.

Lots of trouble this weekend. Apparently skates got into Brentford's family end and started fighting too. There was also fighting between Bradford city fans and stewards, although it looked a bit like handbags.

Ramiez, time to settle or not good enough?
saintrich replied to southamptonfclegend's topic in The Saints
His tackle down in the Northam/kingsland corner, before chipping it through to Rodriguez, who drew a foul from Pogatetz, was quality. Took his goal well. Good Free kick to Lambert for the goal line incident. West Ham defending quite last ditch at times to cut out some his passes. I think a few over hit set pieces put a blotch on his performance, but it wasn't a bad display like people are crying about. -
Aren't umbro being bought out by Nike? So that's what we'll have? or is the umbro deal ending?
-
Put £10 on at 29/1 yesterday just incase the worst happens. I fully believe we'll be ok though.

"Southampton had a good win last week, albeit against a Liverpool side having an off day. I feel the international break might've halted any momentum The Saints could've gained and it'll be a big ask to win against Chelsea too. The blues have an FA cup tie on Easter Monday, but have the strength in depth to gain the three points here". Southampton 1-2 Chelsea

I've been twice and it is quality. The first time was with my mum and sister in 2005, didn't really do much as they just wanted to go shopping - although we did do a bus tour, which was very handy for the second time I went (last Feb with my gf) as I knew the city layout, which made walking around easier and knew the best places to go. Done loads of touristy stuff the second time - Empire state, Statue of liberty, central park/new york zoo and went to MSG to watch a NY Knicks NBA match - which was very entertaining. Unfortunately I'd already spent most of my money when I managed to track down Century 21, so couldn't pick up some bargain jackets. As already mentioned, there are loads of diners which are great for breakfast. However, when going out for dinner I was expecting huge portions - maybe I picked the wrong places to go! Definitely going back - would like to take in some night life next time, a few bars etc. Kasabian were playing a few weeks after I went - so I'd probably try and tie in some live music with the NBA season and also the MLS season. EDIT - I forgot, when mentioning to an american fella that I was from Southampton he started talking about the dell and 1976, which was quite cool. Although another bloke I spoke to 'supported' Man Utd and hadn't even heard of Man City

He has only ever been good going forward. Is by far Liverpool's worst defender.

If we go down we'll sell and might be able to get back what we paid. If we stay up I wouldn't want to sell - I think a full pre-season with Saints could be helpful to seeing a better Ramirez next season.

Norwich City 0-0 Southampton // Post-Match Reaction
saintrich replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Just because Norwich didn't get a shot away, doesn't mean it wasn't a better chance though. Snodgrass getting past keeper and being denied by Yoshida interception, was just as clear cut, if not more than lallanas chance. Snodgrass Free kick probably on par with Rodriguez effort - both straight at keeper. Holt would have had a tap in had he not been pulled back by shaw - clearer cut chance than Ramirez Holt missed a penalty - clearer cut chance than Lambert. -

Looked like Norwich should have had pen 1st half and Yoshida did well to save a certain goal.
