I'm 3rd with Saints after 5 games - been changing between a 4-4-2 diamond and a 4-2-3-1. I've beat Liverpool & WBA 1-0 and Newcastle 2-1. Drew 1-1 with Man U & Arsenal. Offered Fonte a new contract immediately and he has the 2nd highest average rating in the prem so far and been in team of the week twice. Sold: Chaplow to Huddersfield £1m Hoovield to Bolton £1.2m De Ridder to Sunderland for £475,000 To raise some funds, also sold Kelvin, Butterfield, Seaborne on the cheap. Bought: Ryan Donk £2.4m (just searched for a Cb with 15+ heading, tackling, positioning and strength) Michael Mancienne on loan (was going to be as backup CB, but been playing RB as Clyne injured for 6 weeks) Maor Melikson £3.6m (searched midfield with +15 pace, acceleration, technique, first touch, dribbling and flair) Martin Olsson £7m (in installments) I got desperate for a lb late in the window and paid a bit over the top :-/

There was mixup very early on where someone poked it wide and also got carved open and defoe should have scored. Could have been 3 or 4 down at ht. looked shaky everytime spurs attacked.

Probably should have been 4-0 down at half time. Second half improvement, but Spurs sat back.

I think Yoshida has looked decent and does not need replacing. To improve defensively we need to learn how to defend better as a unit and when and when not to drop off. West Brom beat Liverpool and Everton (keeping clean sheets) with a defence of: Steven Reid (RB) Gareth McAueley (CB) Jonas Olsson (CB) Liam Ridgewell (LB) McAuley spent a lot of his career at a lower level. Lots of people on here were slagging Ridgewell off on here when a few suggested to sign him. Reid was a midfielder converted to right back and Olsson is probably the best out of the three. Obviously the above defence defend well as a unit and have spent longer together and there is the difference. I don't think necessarily we need to look at 'who' we should get in, because certain players aren't up to it, but just concentrate on working better as a unit. Norwich have signed Bassong, Turner and Garrido in the summer, all with prem experience and it still doesn't stop them looking like a calamity at times...

Need some work on clearances and defending crosses into the box. Gary Neville did a good analysis on Monday Night Football last week, about how West Ham always have a player on the left, right and middle of the box when attacking crosses.

Do you use the picture import to create players? I want to have my Saints team looking correct - but is there not a patch for that? Demo is already out . The game is released tomorrow.

Wigan: Do the Shaun Maloney (to the tune of 'do the okey cokey') Man Utd: Ohhh Robin Van Persie (yawn!) & my personal favourite... Wigan: Di Santo! Oh! (to the tune of 'gold' by spandau Ballet... Truly terrible... Maybe we could replace Di Santo with Do Prado ;-) )
