  1. Lol.. How do you know that any of our current players don't do that? You sound bitter/jealous. I'm not sure he'd be good enough for us, but your reasons for not wanting him are lame. As for attitude, he is confident in his own ability but there is nothing wrong with that. He also doesn't drink like alot of players. Hardworking on the pitch. So attitude is hardly a good stick to beat him with.
  2. Should be an interesting test. Hopefully we don't fall victim to one of the press' pre-season observations that we'd beat some good teams and lose to some poor ones. Keith Hill manager of Barnsley - beat us twice with Rochdale last season... Possibly target Harding after his performance at Spotland.
  3. £12m, with £7m upfront according to papers this morn.
  4. For those moaning that there should be a player on the front -maybe there aren't any interesting interviews from our players at the moment. There is likely to be a feature article with Cortese outling plans for the season - wouldn't knock the front cover until you've read the article...
  5. The point made in the opening post is not arguing whether centre back is a flawed position or not... it's the point that Seaborne is likely to start and we should get behind him and see what he can do. You've been moaning all summer that we aren't signing players, but half the players you've suggested are signings that wouldve been ok last summer but Would hardly push us on now (Ledesma, Pearce, Baldock etc) signing players doesn't always guarantee success... Just look at what Burley did. It seems apparent that we have a hungry, happy squad, with plenty of backup available and options. Also there is no point in you moaning about centre back when it's already been reported we've had bid for Gorkks accepted... It's not like we're not trying to improve that area.
  6. Sunday Sport (ooo-er) had us down to finish 7th.
  7. They are only re-sending out the voucher booklet, not the actual ticket bit at the front of the season ticket. So anyone who still has 9-23, aswell as a new 1-23 wouldn't be able to have two tickets for 9-23 because they won't accept the voucher on it's own.
  8. Seeing as my manager knows I go to every game - I doubt I'd get away with that. I'd also have to hide from the TV cameras, which won't be much fun when we score a 90th min winner and everyone celebrates down the front of the stand.
  9. Oh great, not allowed time off work in December. Might have to volunteer to work all day Saturday, in return for the Sunday off.
  10. I remember Gorkss scoring against us for Blackpool. That's about it.
  11. There are loads of other decent pubs in town.
  12. ffs just received 3 season tickets, all 9-23 aswell. think we should all get a freebie for having to go down and sort it out...
  13. I don't think it would be that funny... It's not like he's picking Hudds over Brighton. He failed medical at Brighton so they decided not to pursue him.
  14. But people are parking in the car park all day to go to an away game and aren't shopping/buying club products. According to one of the ladies that runs the travel coach, the club makes no money from the coaches. I'm pretty sure if 100+ people started parking in the tesco car park every other week for over 12 hours without going into tesco then they'd do something about it. They give 15 mins free so that fans can collect/buy tickets for free, it's just a bit unfortunate that during season ticket renewal it can take more than 15 mins to queue - in which case the club could think about giving an hour free parking during the season ticket period.
  15. It's not the principle at all - it's to stop people parking there all day, like some were doing before. It is clearly sign-posted upon entrance to the car park that you have to pay, so if the man didn't like the idea of paying he should have gone elsewhere instead of buying his season ticket, wasting time and then asking for a refund. Incidentally blocking people in the car park, who wanted to leave.
  16. we are looking for players who are better than we have already got - we have a good team and improving the quality is not something that's possible to do in the first week of the transfer window. Are the other 21 clubs in the champ who didn't bid for Mackail-Smith lacking ambition aswell? truth is there will be at least 5 teams in the top 6 at the end of the season that won't have Mackail-Smith in their side and they will have got to the top 6 without spending double what CMS is worth.
  17. What is the problem with having two weeks to renew your seat? If you already have a season ticket then you'd have some idea as to whether you are going to renew or not. Then the prices are released and you have 4 weeks to work out whether you can afford it or not - which is plenty time and then two weeks to get down and sort it out. It's not like they gave us two weeks to renew from the day the prices were released...
  18. Don't think this thread is newsworthy...
  19. Pointless thread. Already covered in the rumour thread. We won't beat Leicester to sign him. At least we're aiming high.
  20. Ah true, there was rail works last time which probably explains why we had to change.
  21. Yes you have to change at Fratton. They were at home when we played Brighton away this season.
  22. Best of a bad bunch regarding pace. Think it was more to do with poor judgement/positioning/alertness at P'boro that left him trailing.
  23. I do see mileage in the rumour personally. I don't think he'd sign for Liverpool though, so it doesn't matter. Comolli (sp?) watched Chamberlain on a number of ocassions last season, so it wouldn't be suprising if a bid was made.
  24. Good post. Found this more interesting than the original article, which was sitting on the fence to say the least.
  25. We didn't need first team players though. It was just about adding squad depth in the short term. It is hard to sign quality players that are prepared to sit on the bench, knowing full well that they'd be behind the likes of Lallana and Chamberlain. Hence why we signed players like N'Guessan who were happy to play second fiddle.
