How many points do you think we can get in November?
saintrich replied to Saint Thomas's topic in The Saints
10 points -
Our first home loss will probably be against Brighton and we won't hear the end of it...
-
When they say less than 1000 remaining, does that mean less than 1000 out of 32,000, or less than 1000 of the blocks that we usually have open (with blocks 1-3 etc still shut?)
-
We played well but sometimes guilty of over-working the ball and being too afraid to shoot. I think a draw was fair - as although we had alot more of the ball, chances wise was pretty even - Derby had a couple cleared off the line.
-
If we match derby's work-ethic then our quality should shine through. Whether we match it or not is a different story...
-
How long have they been serving chicken balti pies in the northam concourse?

Davis Richardson Hooiveld Fonte Fox De Ridder Hammond Cork Lallana Lambert Guly Subs: Bialkowski, Martin, Schneiderlin, Chaplow, Connolly.

West Ham game is restricted database sale only - saw it on the ticket office board when collecting Cardiff tickets Tuesday.

Why did we continue to pass out from the back? You could tell from the first 5 minutes that Cardiff weren't going to allow us to play like that. Very rushed with the ball, too many passes and flicks going astray. We needed someone to get on the ball, get their head up and dictate play - we missed Hammond IMO. Connolly mustve have had a pass completition rate of less than 25%, Guly not much better. At least the latter won a few headers and did a bit more of note. Fox was dire. Performance in general was poor, the most dissapointing thing was that Cardiff barely bothered us defensively, apart from the two goals we conceded... Didn't take advantage. Schneiderlin (although he did do v well in the build up) and Lambert missed two absolute sitters.

I see no problem in signing him on a one year deal as back up for Lambert.

Hang on, but his original interview in the sun, maybe 18 -24 months ago (at a guess), he criticised Le Tissier (Pinnacle) and Mcmememy (Tickets) His next interview (Yesterday) they have obviously asked...Do you still have a problem with these two? To which he has answered... no, but I don't want people having freebies (in reference to the Mcmenemy part). Because they arent printing the whole question AND the answer, they have just dropped their names in.... he obviously didn't just randomly mention their names....
-
TREATED LIKE WHAT? Do you have a selective reading problem at all? The Freebies part of the article mentions no names and is in reference to Mcmememy, who even said himself that he wanted free tickets...
-
Where in the article is Cortese slagging off Le Tissier? The mention of Le Tissier and Mcmememy in the newest sun article, is because he had originally stated he had a problem with them. Le Tiss (Pinnacle) and Mcmenemy (Tickets) he then mentions free-bies which is an apparent dig at Mcmemeny, not Le Tissier.
-
The freebies comment was in reference to Mcmenemy, not Le Tiss. Originally Cortese said he had 2 problems - le tiss getting involved with pinnacle and Mcmenemy wanting free tickets. The newest sun article, he has obviously been asked if he still has a problem with these two, or any club legends. To which he replies that he doesnt have a problem with legends but doesnt want people getting freebies - he does not name names in the freebies part, therefore is not slagging off Le Tiss like EVERYONE is saying he is.
-
I disagree that it's jealousy. More to do with Le Tissier being part of the pinnacle group, which delayed Liebherrs takeover by more than 4 weeks, when Pinnacle were clearly up to nothing in terms of saving our club... I'm fairly sure Cortese's original spites were: Le Tiss: That he got too involved in pinnacle bid and almost ruined the Liebherr takeover. Mcmenemy: That he expected to get free tickets (Which has been confirmed) Obviously the latest article in the sun, Cortese has been asked about this and so, we get a re-hash of the argument. All blown out of proportion if you ask me.
-
I'm pretty sure I read in Mcmenemy's column in the echo a while back that he expected to get free tickets...
-
Will be playing in red and white or yellow, just so I know what balloons to order? thanks
-
I think we'll dominate and maybe get caught with a late sucker punch.
-
If West Ham have significantly upped their offer, why would you be confident in him coming to us? we wouldnt compete with what West Ham would offer if they don't want to lose out on another target.
-
Good signing if it comes off, think he'll join hammers though. Hope barney doesn't go.

Will the Birmingham Home Game now be on Sunday 18th Sept?
saintrich replied to Ooooo Mariaaan's topic in The Saints
Isn't it on sky though? Can they move it if that's the case? -
There was a bit in Saturdays echo from Walcott's new book questioning the SCW and Clifford era.

Was there a (just) back from the match thread for Barnsley?
saintrich replied to The9's topic in The Saints
I was ****ed and don't remember much of the game but I don't remember it being THAT good. Thought we had decent movement and passing throughout but hardly sublime - final ball was often too overworked. Do recall Guly taking on about three players and then instead of passing, ending up getting tackled. Barnsley did themselves no favours by losing possession all too often by hitting ambitious cross field balls that often went out of play, which made things a bit of a walk in the park. Still a great performance but best performance in 20 years is a bit much? Maybe I should stay sober next time... -
Would a big signing prompt you to attend saturday??
saintrich replied to CFSFC's topic in The Saints
'Cos I'm a lazy ****. Train too expensive for northern games, bingo bus die of boredom, minibus ok but need about 45 p!ss stops if having a few cans. I've done pretty much all the northern games (apart from middlesbrough) at least once in recent seasons -some i'll go to again... maybe Burnley if mates are... Hull on a Tuesday night will take some persuading. -
Would a big signing prompt you to attend saturday??

I'm going tomorrow, but in general, Traveling up north is too much effort.
