Hows Papa /(Wanchop doing) doing? I cant get any radio links.
-
It was a good game, we lost far too many headers at the back in the first 20 mins (there 21 was good in the air) but then the cb's won most from that point on. Lambert was ace he knows what he is good and does not try to do things he can't. Papa, well a strange won, he reminded me of Kenwyne Jones whn he came on against poopey and looked like a fish out water today for the first 20 ish mins. But it was like someone taught him to play football in an hour, he ended up with confidence (never looks like he has the ball under control but comes out with it, like Paulo Wonchop (sp)) and looking good. I don't understand putting Holmes on for a couple of mins, i think he could be key this year breaking teams down so why no give him 30 mins today. But we are off the mark now Well done Saints!!

Does anyone remember when Kenwyne Jones came on against pompey and played on the wing he looked like he had never played before! So lets hope this guy comes good!

Skates losing!!

He is a good honest pro who is still working hard every game even if he is near the end of his career. Good lad

Good post.

This is a good read about poopey, we get a mention bu the guy sums it all up well. IMO http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/mattslater/2009/08/end_in_sight_for_pompeys_blues.html

Very true about Morgan, he is class but is suited to the Prem rather than Div1. I am not sure he can adjust to this league. I hope he can with out losing too much of his ability.

Message to club - Any DANGER of signing a CB or two

Very good idea -
AP should know who or what type of player would suit him.
-
Peterborough did ok from non-league buys over the last couple of years.
-
No its just being real. We started -10 and have knocked off 1 point so far. It is a hard league to get out of but we can't put too much pressure on ourselves this season. I am not saying just write it off but we need to be mid table by christmas then go for it. It is ridiculous to think we will threaten automatic promotion I would love to be wrong but I can't see it. We are behind other teams in preparing our team for this season and those few weeks may cost us.
-
People need to remember we just need a season of mid table then we can go for it next year with a whole team AP has built. It is a bad loss today but there will be more as well as some good wins. Heads up

The new rumour is David Dein is ready to step in for pompey with some guy who used to have something to do with Arsenal. Lets hope any rescue for them is 1st Sept!

Saints vs No'ton - FULL TIME (2-0, Lambert '29, Lallana '68)

How big was there number 10 by the way. This sort of player will bully Ollie L -
Will he play tommorrow?
-
Sounds strange but he is too good for league 1 and not good enough at the same time. He is not suited to this league but would do better in the prem as when it gets tough in this league he may be a bit light weight and not up for it.
-
He would be a buy but we do need a old head such as Steve Howard
-
I think Pahars had is first attempt of a work permit turned down
-
Will be interesting to see if he gets the number 6 shirt!
-
A very good post. I wonder if it all will ever come out!
-
He has said he is talks, i think he will be just helping Coles out.
-
If he is free and we could get him on a pay as play he MAY be ok. But lets try other options first.
-
I thought this post would be laughing directly at how they could struggle this season. Not a history lesson where anyone with half a brain can make the stats look good in their favour for either side. Lets be honest most if not some of us would swap positions with them as they are in the prem but i feel that we have a great long term sensible adventure ahead of us. Why argue about gates in the 50's 60's 70's 80's and 90's so many other factors will always come into it. I don't think anyone wants pompey to go out of business but we all want them to struggle. But i think the football bubble will burst in the next 5-10 years, which could favour us if we have a sensible owner (which I think we do).

I agree 100% its horses for courses, there are many prem player that would struggl in Div1. If are going to get to the prem then the manager (hopefully AP) will need to build 3 different teams over the next 4-5 years.
