Totally agree 100% as do every Saints fan I know...anyone but them even if it means 5-10m less we will still be making a massive profit on him. We can't replace a player of that ability but we can certainly get in someone who can do a very good job that won't cause the same stress to our new manager who has enough to worry about in his first season. It seems going by our lack of activity and sale of club things may not be going well - the Virgil money changes that. We still need a better spine in the team and the money we get can improve that against a player that doesn't want to be here - isn't fit and hasn't played since January.

Replacement or player of equal standard ...there is a massive difference. Sahko/Mangala are the type ( not necessarily those) we get bullied with Yosh/Stephens/Gardos by the likes of Carroll, Lukaku etc

TBF Sussex bowled well and the lad Jofra Archer looks a real talent, but Vince, Alsop, Bailey and especially Ervine were all out for poor shots and given we were something like 30-4 we were never going to get going. Afridi just doesn't cut it anymore, Topley hasn't recovered from his injury and looks a shadow. Abbott didn't look threatening and only Crane looks to have that something.
