Well O'Neil would of left in 2012 anyway when Capello left ;-) I wanted Mowbray...and am concerned as to whether he will get the respect of the players like Fonte but time will tell. Its only results that will gauge whether this is the right appointment. Remembering the home game against them when they played us off the park I am clinging to that. Rather Adkins than the circus of managers that go from club to club like Hart, Dowie, Megson etc.

Hoddle was on Talksport yesterday and said he was still concentrating on his academy. His academy have taken over a second division side Jerez? where he fields all players from his academy in the league side.

A long time ago now...in fact in one bar we were in Julian Dicks, Dowie and the West Ham team were in it eatimg KFC from the bargan bucket! They were over on summer tour. We played at Clandeboye GC which was accessed through the roughest area I have been through...burning cars, anti-Brit murals, road blocks etc but the course was absolutely superb and the people brilliant. Politics are deffo out...its like most big cities really keep your wits about you and have a great time. Jurys is a decent hotel as well or was. If you see a tin passed round.....put in some ;-)

Go for a beer here http://www.crownbar.com/ its brilliant. Been on loads of films and great character and decent black stuff as well. Been a while since I have been but remember some decent museums.....although I went with a big group playing golf. It was a lull during the troubles and was stood in a hotel having a beer when someone said you are in the most bombed place in Ireland....The Europa have a look its on stilts and they just repair it everytime. 99% of the people are friendly and you wont have any trouble as long as you don't act the plonker. One of my favourite places for nightlife on a Saturday night.

Andy us old Redbridge boys usually do have a way with words.....most of them ending in off all fashioned by that git Challands! I have known Nick for over 40 years and although don't always agree with him ...especially about loveable old rosey cheeks he has at least tried to do things for the good of the fans...unlike some on here who can only whinge behind a keyboard. Can you name me one manager in football that has been "perfect"? Even Fergie got the colour of the shirts wrong one day. AP win percentage was the best of any Saints manager and as you have stated on many occasions its only winning that counts. We have to balance that of course with the division we are playing in and money spent but for me AP was doing a decent job. We will never know what went on behind the scenes.

Taxi for Wilkins. How can you leave on 2 bumbling defensive midfielders and substitute the only player with pace and the only threat we had! Hammond and Morgan contributed nothing. Puncheon was abysmal. Lambert looks ****ed off with the pathetic supply and Connoly was shocking. Lets substitute Chamberlain he is playing too well....clueless! We are pedestrian going forward and so easy to get 8 or 9 defenders back. Why didnt he take off Hammond or Morgan and push on Dickson wide left ...Puncheon in the centre and Guly up front....or even put Jaidi on for the last 10 up front!

Why would we want a guy like Adkins that has won promotion twice and is actually managing in a league above ours?

A position I have totally empathy for and have been there all week but am now relenting a bit. That may be due to all the propaganda coming out of the club but we will never know the truth behind Pardew going. Some rumours maybe true some not ..last night I was told by a good source that Downes never spoke to Wilkins for the whole time he was here... Who knows what Pardew would of done for the rest of the season but pre-season didn't go too well, players were not added to the squad that needed to be i.e pace, width and Lambert cover. Maybe a new face will come in and finish the job Pardew started lets all hope so....as long as we don't go for the cheap Wilkins option.
