  1. Thats fair enough but 4 was a bit harsh IMO as he made some good contributions when he was on. I would struggle to give anyone an 8 yesterday apart from Hammond.
  2. He also won a few headers when he came on and put in a few good challenges. Come on we know he is no Beckham but 4?? Lets not go down the route of marking because he is not liked. When he does a good job lets mark him properly. I agree totally with your MOM as Hammond was everywhere and doing the job he was bought to do. Saga was abysmal...when will we have a striker that can understand that Lambert actually wins 90% of the flicks ons and gambles. Cheated for the penalty......poor game from him and at least Waigo gives us an outlet by hitting it in the channels for him to use his pace. I worry he maybe another BWP though with no football brain to look along the line but it was his first home game and just a bit too eager to impress. We won but played poor but solid some good headeing by Trotman and Jaidi means we can now actually compete. Now we need a winger to deliver to Lambert.
  3. kicking off in Boogies was a regular occurance....just like its predecessor .
  4. Does anyone know what the follow on target is???
  5. I am due to meet Lawrie next week....I will let you know if he is rude or not!
  6. 31st ;-)
  7. Well do you expect them to actually come out and say it ? I don't....plenty who will load the gun but expect others to fire the bullet on here. I do not expect 3 points on Saturday but still wont be calling for Pardews head yet...I think he has until November to get us sorted - we were in that big a mess.
  8. Then look harder.....there are a few....here is a clue search threads by Charlie Wayman!
  9. [quote=Thedelldays;450681 in the real world....we are poor and (by all accounts) getting better...time to start winning and get rewards that this (expensive) team deserve ....and the fans!!!
  10. It will happen.....the consequences of it not are not worth thinking about. Had that one incident in injury time not had happened at Stockport then things would not look so black as now. We simply have to beat Yeovil otherwise this place will be be twinned with the Samaritans.
  11. well I wouldn't know as I am an uber fan and go to matches ;-)
  12. As usual you ignore what was written ....how things unfold...what in a week!! Read the post FFS!!
  13. Thats fair enough but Alp you do yourself no favours at all with the way you change with the wind. You went to the Birmingham game and I remember your quote " I can go back to Austria knowing we are heading in the right direction" as I echoed those sentiments that night. However no less than 1 week later you had reverted back to the old whingeing whining by forecasting doom and gloom! It will take time to get over the Dutch revolution and the problems that caused right throughout the club.
  14. What makes me laugh is the way morons keep bringing up the Swindon game and dismiss all the improvements made since then! Yes we should beat Yeovil.....Man Utd should of beaten us in 76!!! Not everything is straightforward in football.

  16. So where does he play? I like Hammond and think he has solved a number of problems we had, height, mobility, does the simple things well and mobile. To compliment him we need a passer and the frustrating Schneiderling fits that bill if fit and willing. James did pretty well when he played there but is not a creator and nor is Gillett, yes Gillett gets stuck in but his lack of height in this league is a problem . To sign the leagues top scorer but then deny him the service he needs is where are problems lie IMO not with the dropping of a very ordinary footballer.
  17. does it really matter how he scores??? in of his right buttock cheek from a defender clearing will do for me if it gives us 3 points.
  18. I wrote something similar the other day - our club as a whole is rife with nice, ball playing competant youngsters. All pretty decent and some with a fair amount of ability and very promising....but when they come up against the physical teams we get clobbered. I know quite a few in the youth set ups and still we are recruiting the small, lightweight decent lads, we should be looking for far bigger, physical lads to match the divisions we will be in for a few years. Recently we have had too many of the Whites, Lancashires, Boyle, Gasmi, Thomson type and not enough of the Baseya and Kenwynne physiques.
  19. Exactly...that is my whole point...nothing to do with expectations just based purely on what we had available and how Burleys pathetic team selections and tactics cost us automatic promotion. That has nothing to do with fans...its to do with Burley's half arsed approach to the job and abysmal management here.
  20. We have Fish who is pretty decent at full back.....providing off course Sick Note Holmes is available to cover him wide.
  21. Totally agree 100% how many people now just don't bother or go down look at the queue and go back upstairs without buying anything! What a complete waste of revenue....if you sell 4 bottles in the whole of half-time you more than pay the wages of the poor seller behind the kiosk.
  22. But had he done a better job withthe resources he had we would of had even more money AND those players worth 20m!!!
  23. NickH those were just some examples that stuck in my memory as really bad management - the defender did play a few games and did OK but not set the world alight admittedly but we didnt either with no cover and that wa the point! Bennet should not of been in that position had Burley done his job and recruited - how can you rely on Killer coming back with the history he had. All water under the bridge now but I hold Burley in just as much disain as I do for Redknapp .....Calum Davenport v Carlton Cole!!!
  24. I would get rid of both...if you watch them in Ressie games they scare the balls off me every time a cross comes into the box. I am not going by what Grimsby fans think either as it was always going to be difficult going there in that position. I just pray nothing happens to KD!!!!
  25. Sorry Nick your re-writing history hear to suit your anti-Wilde agenda as we all know you questioned him from the start - rightly as it seemed. Burley is a different kettle of fish all together. How can you forget Watford at home with no less than 6 players playing on the wrong side in one game? 2-0 down with 20 minutes to go and makes a substitution in injury time when we had 3 subs available? 0-0 at home to S****horpe? and bringing Saga on in injury time! A whole pre-season ignoring the central defence apart from bringing a trialist to Eastleigh that ended up at Bristol City because we rejected him. I jumped for joy when we got Burley and cannot forgive him for his lack of effort here and pathetic team selections. What manager lets your most inexeprienced forward take the first penalty when he has scored an own goal in the game and his confidence is low and pressure so intense? We had a squad here that should of gone up automatically and IMO only Burleys weird tactics and substitutions caused us to scrape in the playoffs mainly due to Preston hitting the self destruct button as well.
