  1. Are these tickets still available? I can meet you in Exeter before hand, as I am staying with Grandparents.
  2. How long as the phone been ringing for you when you rang the 01271 number? I am upto 8 mins so far!
  3. Rasiak v Derby: The single greatest moment in football (including England etc) I was in a pub in Swansea with 20 other Saints Fans (God knows where they came from...) The look on the lone Derby fans face as we all jumped around like loons was priceless. I thought he was going to cry. He was a true gent at the end, left quietly after shaking all of our hands! Le Tiss v Villa in 94/95 I think. Last minute from about 40 yards out! It was my first league away game, sat in the Villa end got us a 1-1 draw. Brett's goal against Watford in the Semi! I scared the neighbours with my screams... Outside of Saints: Michael Owen v Brazil WC QF, 2002 - I had a Biology A level exam after the game, went to the pub down from my school and ended up hugging randoms and kissing a very large woman who just happened to be walking her dog outside. Frank Lampard v Portugal, equaliser in Extra time.
  4. We lost it in the first 30 minutes...bright start but then let Brighton dictate the pace and flow of the game. Trotman and Jaidi just had one of those games. They have been very good for most of the season so I am not going to write them off after one bad performance. Morgan wasn't good, gave the ball away too much and was caught out of position too often. Lallana had an ok game, as did Connelly and Antonio, although I would have liked to have seen him switch to the left occasionally and test the other fullback. It was obvious early on that Lambert wasn't fit/well...I believe he has had an illness and Pards didn't want him on too long, obviously due to the fact we needed a goal he was kept on. I honestly believe this was a blip. We played some good football at times, the better side won it because they took their chances - We had enough chances to equalise and probably win it. The BHA Goalkeeper was excellent, despite his time wasting, but we would have done the same... I know it is disappointing guys but we have got another big game next weekend and then a run of 3 or 4 games against weak opposition. Don't underestimate the impact Poyet had on BHA, they looked organised and played some nice football, all their goals were very good and as I said before it was one of those games. COYR
  5. V Bolton in the cup after we beat Utd on penalties. I think it was 1992? 2-0 up and then let them back in it. Beat them in the replay then lost to Notts Forest in the next round. Incredibly after all that time (with the exception of a couple of friendlies at Cheltenham and Gloucester City)...the first and only time I have seen us win away was the Bristol Rovers game - and even then we almost threw it away! Some great memories though from away games..Villa in 1994/1995 when MLT equalised in the last minute from 35 yards! And I was in the away end with my Saints fan football coach! At 10 trying not to scream with joy is very difficult!!! Cardiff away in 2006/7 we lost but managed to get a couple of chants going including 6-1 to Slovenia chant that really annoyed the thugs in the Grange End! Swindon away - I won't talk about that! Looking forward to Exeter City in Feb or possibly Hereford if we get them in the JPT Regional finals.
  6. Wet side...brilliant banter especially comments about the refs arm!
  7. If and when I go to away games I generally go with other people. Swindon game will be the first time on my own to an away game! Anyone from Gloucester or Cheltenham going down on the train in the evening???? But I have gone to several home games on my own - as someone else has already said, everyone is there for the same thing so it doesn't really matter.
  8. The best atmosphere will be created by the Irish or French fans. Most likely it will be a minor nation (Uruguay; Tonga; Romania etc) vs one of France, Ireland or Scotland. England and Wales will be playing their pool games at their respective National Stadiums and the Big Southern Hemisphere teams will be playing at Wembley, Old Trafford or Emirates. Whoever plays it will be good to see St Mary's properly full because one of the many great things about Rugby UNION is that the Fans are not segregated. It will be interesting how the game is policed and stewarded, I have been to football grounds in the past to watch rugby and the level of security is often to great. The stewards who are jobsworths when you are watching football...making you sit down, even during moments of excitment, or just generally being a pain in the backside...seem to become Little Hitlers and can't cope with the fact that two sets of supporters aren't trying to kill each other! As I have said before this is a fanstastic opportunity for Saints to show the club off to the world and hopefully get greater exposure to potential investment. I just wish the Saints had bid for FIFA World Cup Host city status. At least we have an ACTUAL ground, not a drawing of a toilet bowl in the Solent! COYR! Only 10 days till the new Dawn of SFC!!!
  9. I'm going on the train from Gloucester (anyone else going from round 'ere?) Should be getting down there for 6.30pm (going straight from work) I know the County Ground is easy to get to but where will everyone be drinking before the game? It will be my first away game for a few years and my first ever where I can drink (normally driving!) - last one was Cardiff away, but you want to keep your wits about you when you go there! Really looking forward to it, hopefully we will be 2 from 2 and looking to wipe out the 10 points against Brentford!
  10. Not sure what Rugger Buggers you have met but the ones round here (Gloucester) can certainly handle their drink. The one benefit is that Rugby fans don't insist on Beating the hell out of each other, and let the players do it on the pitch. I am a Saints fan and a Gloucester Rugby fan, Glos RFC are one of only two rugby only stadia outside of Twickenham to be used so I am very happy on two fronts. I get to see World class rugby on my doorstep and Saints will get a nice bit of extra revenue! This is brilliant and whoever was involved in arranging the use of SMS should be congratulated!
