  1. Stevenage is anything but interesting
  2. Trevor obviously doesn't have Sky Sports, which is strange considering the fees he is charging. You would have thought an extra £20 per month would be within his budget...which is quite ironic considering the Skates probably can't afford a TV license
  3. Saints player (Alive) - Marian Pahars Saints player (No longer with us) - Alan Ball World player (Alive) - Maradona World player (No longer with us) - Garrincha
  4. Personally I am happy with the players we have brought in. With the exception of a CB (which I think even NA recognises we need), we have strengthened in all the positions we needed to. I certainly don't feel that we are in any worse off than most of the other teams in the league. If we can bring in one or two more before the season starts then all the better - Lens seems to be the 'big name', plus I would imagine we will be active in January too. Let's wait till the first few games are out of the way - 4 points from the opening 4 games would be a dream start imho!
  5. Billy Sharp Sharp Sharp!
  6. The players signed a contract with OldCo, OldCo no longer exists, therefore contract does not exist! The NewCo asked all players to sign for them, some didn't as they were free agents and actually wanted to get paid. Simple! Football Authorities bottle a decision shocker!
  7. In terms of performance, Swindon away was the ultimate low. I remember with 3 minutes to go every Saints fan jesticulating to Pardew to make a sub. (Circulating hands) I went to the Walsall away game too, that was just ridiculous - all over them and we lose to a Macken break away goal.
  8. Hello all, I know many of you will be Charitied out, but on 8th July I am running the British 10k in London. I am running for a charity called Place2be. If you would like read in a bit more detail about the event, the charity or would like to sponsor me (which would be very kind of you!) then please lick on the links below: http://www.thebritish10klondon.co.uk http://www.justgiving.com/Run-Pricey-Run http://www.theplace2be.org.uk/
  9. As would I!
  10. It is important that this happens as it is another step to closing a horrific chapter in our recent history, but to me, McGuiness;Adams and the rest of Sinn Fein are still murdering b#st#rds!!
  11. It makes you wonder why Pompey have been allowed to carry on for so long
  12. After last night I needed something to cheer me up! Thank you Pompey! HAHAHA... Anyone else think that this really could be it? Too much stacked against them, smaller creditors can't be bothered anymore, nothing to lose etc.
  13. Once again a great blog and a great read.... I have posted my blog on here before - so here is my latest couple of updates. http://marching-back.blogspot.co.uk/
  14. Jimmy Carr is apparantly going to invest in Portsmouth FC now that he has exited the infamous K2 fund.
  15. Constrained Resources! I almost ruined my work keyboard, coffee now trickling down the back of the desk!! ROFL!
  16. I am going to GB v Uruguay on 1st August....I am sitting front of Middle tier behind goal.
  17. I think the technical term for the 'bib' is called a Yoke. If you look at the early kits for a lot of football clubs, a lot of the shirt had them. If I had my way I would just have the 2009-2010 kit every season (the last with flybe). Apart from the plastic sponsor bit one of my favourite kits. Simple Red and White stripes...but I understand the need for the club to maximise its cash flow by selling shirts.
  18. Blimey that was a good goal! Have a feeling Russia will nick it though
  19. The people who moan about this and the Olympics in general are always going to moan about it. You will never win them over. I really hope they can pull off something incredible and uniquely 'British' (whatever that is?!). Everyone marvelled at Beijing, but people forget that mass rallies/demonstrations are fairly easy to do when you have the threat of execution hanging over everyone!
  20. TBF the HMRC were going to block the previous Pompey CVA, it was just the debt suddenly became so large that it would have no effect - wonder how that happened???
  21. I really feel for you! That it absolutely disgraceful and I am sure you are not alone with this scenario. If I were you I would look to get together as many of the smaller creditors as possible and protest outside Football League/FA HQ - invite the press, it isn't even about Pompey anymore. No club should be able to get away with this!
  22. Trial may be a tad optomistic! Was invited up to WBA for weekend along with two other lads I played football with in local team. 1 of the lads was offered a YTS style contract, me and t'other were told thanks but no thanks. I was realistic about it at the time, I was and still am a decent player but nowhere near good enough to play anything above local football. One lad I played with as a youth was at Saints until he was released by Sturrock. Mike Green - Fullback if I remember.
  23. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthony_Pulis Just thought I would see how our favourite wannabe footballer is getting on...Now in the USA playing for Orlando City (with Wayne Rooney's brother!) 55 senior league appearances in 10 years with 12 different teams (most of which have been in lower league football) Just like Forecast, makes me wonder how I slipped through the net! Based on Pulis' talent, I think I could command at least £2K a week - and the furthest I ever got in my footballing career was a trial with WBA's youth team when I was 14.
  24. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Butland I cannot believe no-one has mentioned this lad!
  25. Nothing to do with their inability to sign anyone due to the transfer embargo then???
