Millwall Away...that'll be fun!
-
Why are you so often just a bellend?
-
I wonder if we will do the Signing on the pitch thing before the game/at half time?
-
So would I, but I would also like to bang Miranda Kerr but that ain't going to happen either!
-
Well with Celtic getting battered tonight, we might be getting Forster sooner rather than later
-
You utter utter b*st*rd!!! I am going to be on F5 duty tomorrow then...and/or get sacked for the insane amount of internet use at work. Any teasers before you head into the night?

Starting XI looked comfortable and for much of the first half totally dominated. Final ball was a little lacking at times and I felt that Pelle would have been better off with someone along side him. FWIW Pelle looks a decent player, very much in the Lambert mould but has the mobility to get into the box after laying off/playing the ball out wide. Fonte and Jos looked far more at ease than Maya. Whether that was because Swindon were attacking more in the latter stages or his communication with the young lad in the middle just isn't there at the moment. If Lovren is off, then two CB are a necessity (but we all knew that!). Playing with a lot of width, lots of crosses but McQueen seemed a little hesitant at times. Isgrove played well on the left as did Targett. Obviously bigger tests to come but I have no worries about him stepping up this season. Reed looks like a quality little player though, his role tonight seemed to be just break things up and to move the ball along, keep it flowing etc...the more experienced players shone out as you would expect especially Cork who has to be offered a long term deal soon! Finally a quick word about Sharp who looked very lively when he came on. I would imagine that another striker is on the shopping list but it would be interesting to see if he gets a few opportunities this season. Great support too, must have been 1000 or so tonight which is great to see

Anyone going tonight?

Cracking read and I would urge you to keep going (enjoy your blog too by the way). I was born in Southampton, that is my only connection to the team. My Dad was working in Christchurch and Soton was the easier hospital to get to...otherwise I would have been born in Bournemouth and my football depression would be much much worse! Actually I really should have been a Liverpool supporter, my Grandad, Great Grandad and most of the the family were from the city - but like yourself it never felt right. In the early days it was a case of standing out from the crowd, being a bit different but as the years went on and we kept on grinding out the great escapes it felt good to be a Saints fan. The really turning point for me though was actually when we got relegated. I had always gone to games, although not as many as I would have liked, I had been an avid fan - but the connection was still tenious. But as it became easier to go and watch the team, even when it was just dreadful and painful, the more and more I fell in love with them. I know many will echo this, but the first three years of the ML era were probably my favourite. Taking 3,000 to teams like Bristol Rovers, Walsall and Leyton Orient. Having to watch the Exeter game from their home end because so many saints fans travelled without away tickets. The joy of watching your team win and when they were expected to. I always thought the best times were after we beat one of the big boys in the Premier League, this hasn't changed - I could gloat for at least half a season...but honestly (even though we lost on the night), the best and loudest I have ever been was when Chaplow banged in the opener against Utd. I was watching from a pub in Gloucester and you could have heard me in the Northam!! As I said I followed Saints from a young age, 6 or 7 when I got my first shirt - - but it was the combination of the pain of relegation and the joys of a cold Tuesday in Walsall that made a supporter!

Swap deal for Caulker? -
Very similar to the Championship promotion shirt, save for the red sleeves rather than the white. Maybe there was a lot of old Umbro stock laying about...

How can you lump Lambert in with that description? One of the only England players who plays with passion! I am as disappointed as everyone else to see Rickie go (my little girl (2 1/2) loves the Ricky Lambert song for example), but the guy is an absolute hero. Even if he scored a hat-trick next season against us, I would still stand and applaud him. Football can be too tribal at times, there are some occasions when you need to stand back and support the player, no matter who is plays for.....I would draw the line at the Skates though
-
RICKY LAMBERT I STILL LOVE YOU!
-
Before we all start to write off the England team it's important to remember that this is hardly the team that will line up against Italy. The way Wilshere is playing AL is a shoe in. Everything Lallana has worked on, JW seems to be lacking in...Pace, Power, Strength and the little trick up his sleeve. Rickie is actually playing his role perfectly...I would love to see them play him up front with Sturridge. Just seems the obvious partnership. I would drop Rooney and play Sterling or Barkley (who although a little greedy, is at least trying to change things up.) My starting line up for Manaus would be: Hart Johnson (because we don't have anyone else) Cahill Jagielka....Pray that neither of these gets injured Baines (Shaw is good enough) Gerrard (doing his Pirlo thing) Lallana Barkley Sterling (all three interchanging) Lambert (dropping deep Sturridge
-
Hmmm....I maybe clutching at straws but that doesn't look real
-
For Sir Ricky I am happy, his career will have gone full circle and would be the icing on the cake. For me though this would be worse than losing Lallana or Shaw. I wanted Ricky to retire with us, I wanted him to win a proper trophy with us. This whole thing is like a slow motion car crash, I am just clinging on to the hope that this is a Twitter wind up but I know in reality it is probably going to happen anyway. Gutted, just gutted

Swindon Away in our first season in League One, dreadful! Before we managed to totally clear all the deadwood and not having any options on the bench... Absolute highlight for me as the Coventry game. Don't think I have cried so much at a sporting event! (I know I'm a big girl). Just a wonderful moment and for someone not old enough for 76, probably the greatest moment as a Saints fan.

Gallagher! Phew..........never in doubt!

I am an idiot and managed to book a holiday on the day of the JPT final back in 2010. I also have managed to book a holiday the weekend of the FA Cup Final. Therefore we will win it!
-
If he did that, I think even the Pompey fans would be celebrating
-
Not sure if posted already but Jordan Sibley just confirmed that business done for the window....
-
If Osvaldo had been playing well, scoring goals etc etc the situation with Fonte would probably have been handled differently, it may not have arisen at all. I am convinced that we will be getting a striker in to replace him (if he does in fact go to Juve) and I also wouldn't be suprised if we saw another defender too, maybe Astori (although that could just be wishful thinking). The great thing is we just don't know, the club - despite the recent turmoil and changes in the boardroom - seems committed to the secrecy and tactics of keeping signings close to their chest, which I actually agree with.

Jose FONTE BABY!!!!

Can we work something in about her looking like Princess Fiona from Shrek?
