  1. Schneiderlin is the one we should be building the midfield around not Hammond. Personally I think they work well together, the only midfielder who needs replacing is Wotton. Morgan, Hammond, James and another more attack minded central midfielder and we're sorted in the centre of midfield.
  2. As long as we keep beating the **** teams it really doesn't matter. Pick up a few points against the top 6 and beat every other team and we will be play offs or very close.
  3. It's fine posting starting XI's but more than ever football even at our level is a squad game. We basically need 21 players who are all as good as eachother so the squad never suffers. Obviously we're not going to have two left wingers as good as Lallana or four centre backs as good as Jaidi but it's all relative. GK - Davis And Bart - Fine RB - New RB and James LB - Harding and Mills - Fine CB - New CB - Jaidi, Perry and Thomas RM - Waigo and new RM LM - Lallana and new LM CM - Schneiderlin, Hammond, James and new CM ST - Lambert, Connolly and Waigo New ST. Only positions which are sorted are in goal and left back, ideally we need five new players. I imagine one will be Antonio and don't have a clue about the others. Maybe Pardew rates some of the youngsters like Gobern and Martin good enough to step up as the fourth choice. I think the first priority this window will be shifting a lot of our crap squad players. Doubt we will get much more than 250k combined for the likes of Holmes, Gillett, Lancashire, Molyneux, Forecast, Pulis etc
  4. It is results which count, I know loads of plastic fans who only going whne either they get a free ticket of someone who can't go or when we're winning. They are all out in force at the minute going to every home game and not one of them has complained about the football on offer. We where **** against Exeter and at times looked worse with 10 men, the people who I know who went all thought we where excellent on the day. It's just winning and goals that matter to the majority.
  5. Jack Cork would be the perfect centre half for us. Decent pace, very good on the ball, can play it out from defence and a decent defender as well. Experienced and at the same time still young. If I could sign any one realistic player it would be Jack Cork to play alongside Jaidi. I really rated him when he was with us last season.
  6. I think that's about right, I think you need to remember we're in league one - we're not going to have David Beckham smacking free kicks into the box every game. Lloyd James is far from perfect with his delivery but his corners are a lot better than Lallana at the start of the season or Surman last year. Best we've had since Jermain Wright I'd say. His crossing from open play is decent, could do with hitting the byline when he's playing out wide like you say, hopefully he will get a bit more confidence to do that with age and experience. I can see potential in Lloyd James, I honestly think he will still be with us when we're fighting at the top end of the Championship. I know the majority on here will disagree but I think time with show me to be right. He's far from the finished article but there's not much ability wise he's lacking.
  7. Surman is probably the only player we lost in the summer I'd welcome back to the club. A midfield five of Surman - Hammond - Lallana - Schneiderlin - Waigo would be immense. Happy to see the back of McGoldrick, BWP, John, Dyer etc
  8. Aye the current 4-5-1 is a bit too samey - Hammond, Schneiderlin with James or Wotton all offer the same sort of thing without much of a goal threat Mellis linked up really well with Lallana at times, one of the few players we had on the same wave length as Lallana and Schneiderlin.
  9. I think we agree on most things apart from Lloyd James and he seems to split the opinion of whole fanbase more than anyone else at the moment.
  10. Not bothered about any of them tbh, Mellis was the best of the lot but he was never going to get much of a look in once we signed Connolly and ditched the attacking 4-5-1 we where playing. Antonio is a good impact sub and should be nothing more until he develops a brain to go with his pace and ability. Trottman I don't really rate at all, slow and very poor on the ball. We already have a defender that bad called Wayne Thomas, there's no need to have both. Get in a defender who can play the ball out of defence ASAP. Going to be hard for Pardew to find someone in that mould to come to us but if we're going to push on he'll have to find that centre back.
  11. I said exactly the same thing on the way back, never seen so much fog at a match before.
  12. Colchester played some really good football in the first half and in the second they contained us well. They used some dirty tactics and wasted a lot of time but the referee should have sorted that, I'd blame the officials for letting them get away with it. They where **** poor.
  13. We need cover for Lallana, just to give him a rest every now and then, from what I saw of him today he realy shouldn't have played. But then i'd rather have Lallana at 75% than Holmes or Mills fully fit. We essentially need 16-18 players who are good enough to play in the first team without losing too much if we're going to get promoted wether it's this season or next. We can't be relying on the likes of Mills, Holmes, Paterson, Wotton etc
  14. Because Lloyd James put in a few woefull performances last season and a big chunk of our fanbase can't see past that and he's become our latest scapegoat. ****ing hell, maybe you should be our new manager you obviously know everything about football. Infact, can you play full back for us?
  15. Wasn't at fault for the first goal and didn't do too much wrong. I couldn't see the second goal, the fog was too bad. The second goal was sickening we had a stonewall corner denied and they score from the attack.
  16. Just back in Essex after the game. Antonio was shocking I've not seen such a poor individual performance for a long time. He's got potential but we really should be starting Waigo who looked like his goal should have counted. Lallana didn't look properly fit to me, other than a bit of passing and a fee nices touches he was quiet. Could do with getting a new left winger in who's better than Holmes and Mills to cover Lallana. We are desperate for a right back with pace and a centre half who can pass. After today's game I wouldn't bother getting Trottman permanently. Connolly, James and Harding where our three best players today. The likes of Lallana, Schneiderlin and Lambert took a right kicking from a horrible little side, really hope they don't get promoted after today. Need to go through January unbeaten to keep up playoff hopes alive. Milwall and Huddersfield will be the big tests.
  17. Anyone who deserves to get a ticket will get one easily. There's no point whining about it on here when we've still got a couple of games to play and the allocation hasn't even been announced.
  18. Five.
  19. David Beckham
  20. Four wins from fifteen games he's played in this season. Five if you're counting torquay as a win.
  21. I dobut it, I'd assume if Thomas and or Trotman are going cover will be lined up. I assume Lancashire is going to sign for Grimsby which would leave us seriously short.
  22. He's another player who imo played better in the 4-5-1. Against Southend in particular he was immense, best player on the pitch by far when he was playing in an advanced midfield role. I would like to see him bombing forward more when we play 4-4-2, I don't think it would cause problems since he seems to have the stamina to get up and down the pitch. Get him playing in the final third and will see the best out of him.
  23. He's hardly played recently :S
  24. He's crap, can't believe we wasted 1.2m on him. One of Burleys biggest mistakes.
  25. Agreed that we need a new right back, I think even when fit that Murty isn't anything special. Don't think Thomas will be involved much, I get the impression that Pardew wants him out in January.
