People like a good panic. No one knows what is happening with regard to transfers so why make up stories to panic yourselves? Do people really think we're going to try and compete in four competitions without signing anyone and using the youths?
-
In the 14/15 season we spent £68m on transfers.Last year about £40m. I think we might spend about £60+ million again as we need strengthening with first team players.

Because some people don't understand football and don't appreciate what he brings.

I bet that will be a cracker, Friday night game in Manchester then staying over... Sounds good to me.
-
That's harsh! £50 quid is a fair price for Stones.

The replacement for Wanyama? 21 and definitely a Saints sort of signing http://www.insidefutbol.com/2016/07/06/monaco-star-assessing-stoke-and-southampton-proposals-but-manchester-united-lurking/293771/

£60m is what it'll take I reckon.

I like that. People can think what they like about Ronaldo but he wants to win, fiercely driven on the football pitch.
-
Our whole spine needs strengthening if we are to be competitive in the Prem, Euro and 2 cups. 3-4 players that can challenge for the first team. Redmond is one but 3 players through the middle now would be good.
-
Is Pepe going to be fit? I think Bale will have a field day if it's Carvalho and Fonte are the two centre backs. It's about time Bale and Ronaldo showed why they are the most expensive players in the world.
-
Means we're not looking like Stoke, Sunderland and any other red and white striped team though. It will grow when we see Saints winning in the strip.
-
I'd like us to spend £25m+ on a player to show Koeman what our #AMBITION is. Would be great if we paid more for a player than everton did. Petty I know but it would amuse me.
-
I won't get one, I only have the striped shirt as it was bought for me as a present and I only wear it to the games. But i will probably buy one for my son, £36 quid isnt too bad when looking at it as a birthday present.

Just drive a bit more and you're in the Forest. The New Forest is amazing.

Wasn't Ramirez 11m?

The black and grey away kit looks nice.

Doesn't look too bad. Its what the leak was so a bit of an anticlimax there.

Me and the wife were walking through the parks by the buses/back of Burger King and we play the game of spotting the rats and sleeping men/women/tramps in the parks. She won.

I think Bony was the league's top scorer in the 2015 calendar year (could be 2014?) He's a great player and I would love him here, always going to play second fiddle to Aguero but I expect his wages would be too big for us now.
-
Agreed with you up until your last sentence. I was born in Chesterfield and lived in Sheffield until I was 7, then moved to Somerset and ended up at Southampton when I was 10, family never took me to football so the first time I went was to the Dell when I was about 13 and loved it, I'm 38 now and a season ticket holder with my son. I have no interest in any northern clubs, only Southampton.
-
Nah, just bored of it now. It'll be 2pm no doubt.
-
Agree, it's only a kit for god sake, it'll have stripes and be worn whilst playing football, that is it. Most people will just say "Yeah, that's ok, how much does it cost?"
-
It depends whether he's been told he will go to the world cup if he stays in a competitive league, he'll only be 32 and he's never been before. As a footballer that is the pinnacle, or should be. If he gets the chance to go to Chelsea on £60-£70k a week I think he'll take that instead. Or maybe he'll stay at saints!

I think it's a confidence/mental issue. Hopefully a good preseason and good management from Puel will get him firing again.
