  1. I'm a big fan of Tisdale but I'd rather have Pardew in all honesty. IF he did turn us down, and it's a big if, then fair play to him. You don't see loyalty in football very often these days and I wish him all the best with Exeter, so long as it's not at the expense of Saints.
  2. Would be delighted to see Stern sign a new contract and stay at Saints, but I wouldn't be too complacent just yet. Until he's signed on the dotted line, I won't be celebrating. I'm not surprised to hear that Saga and Rasiak still want out either, and if we can get a decent deal for them then even better. On a side note, I've been very impressed with Pardew so far. He's been saying all the right things and it's clear he's working round the clock to get us ready in time for Millwall.
  3. Not that it really matters, but I'd have made big changes all round. I've only allocated squad numbers to players that have been in and around the first-team too. 1. Kelvin Davis 2. Graeme Murty 3. Dan Harding 4. Paul Wotton 5. Chris Perry 6. Wayne Thomas 7. 8. Simon Gillett 9. Grezgorz Rasiak 10. Marek Saganowski 11. Lee Holmes 12. Olly Lancashire 13. Bartosz Bialkowski 14. Stern John 15. Lloyd James 16. Joseph Mills 17. Matthew Paterson 18. 19. Morgan Schneiderlin 20. Adam Lallana 21. Kayne McLaggon 22. Lee Molyneux 23. Tommy Forecast 24. Oscar Gobern 25. Michael Poke 26. Jake Thomson 27. Jamie White
  4. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11719_5434693,00.html Now this lad is well worth a look and could definitely DAJFU.
  5. Would be more than happy for Murty to sign a contract here. His experience and ability will be very useful for us in League One, and he's a natural leader both on and off the pitch, something we've been missing for a long time.
  6. If he plays regularly in attack, I think he'll surprise a few on here. Would liked to have seen him stay as he would have been very useful for us in League One. I still believe that under the right management, he could become a very good player. Can't blame him for leaving, and I wish him all the very best for the future.
  7. Hopefully we'll be in a position to field the likes of Schneiderlin, Saganowski and Rasiak, as well as a couple of the out-of-contract players. I'd also like to have a proper look at Murty to see what he has to offer. Maybe something along the lines of the following: ----------------- Davis ----------------- Murty ----- Perry ----- Thomas ----- Mills Lallana ---- James ---- Gillett ---- Holmes -------- Saganowski -- Rasiak ------------ Subs: Forecast, Lancashire, Schneiderlin, McNish, Doble, Paterson, Thomson. EDIT - Just realised I mis-read the original post completely. My bad! The above team is what I'd like to see us field on Saturday. No idea what it'll be come August 8th!
  8. A fit and motivated Saga in League One would be fantastic. He's our best natural striker by some distance IMO. I can't see him staying, but if he does stick around, I wouldn't be surprised if he got 20+ goals next season.
  9. It's not as bad as some are making it out to be. I particularly like the detail around the badge. It's OK, but nothing special. Makes a nice change from a standard all yellow strip though.
  10. There really isn't anything positive to say about the prospect of Adams becoming Saints manager. I just hope the new owners steer well clear of him. He's been a failure wherever he's been.
  11. New manager - Gordon Strachan. His assistant - Gary Pendrey. Five realistic players - Graeme Murty, Ricky Lambert, Andy Bishop, Jan-Paul Saeijs and Joe Mattock (maybe slightly unrealistic). Job for Le Tiss - Club Ambassador. One ground improvement - Keep corners open all season. One catering improvement - Not strictly catering, but allowing us to keep the bottle caps for our drinks! New half-time entertainment - Meh. Half-time entertainment is always pretty poor, not a lot of point really. Picture in the boardroom - Bobby Stokes celebrating after scoring the winning goal in the 76 Cup Final.
  12. I just can't see Strachan wanting to come back to Saints. Don't get me wrong, I hope he does and I'd be over the moon if it happened, but realistically, can you see him going from Champions League football with Celtic to -10 in League One with Saints?
  13. I was looking at numerous Saints related videos on YouTube earlier, and I couldn't help but notice how many top draw goals have been scored over the years. It got me thinking, what is the best Saints goal of all time? I came across this video and thought it had to be a contender. What do you think is the greatest Saints goal of all time? Feel free to post video links if you've got any.
  14. Strachan is still my first choice, although I don't believe it will happen for a second. Just too good to be true.
  15. Can 'Rupert' and 'Lowe' be added to the swear filter please mods?
  16. Would be more than happy with Pearson, but I just can't see him leaving Leicester. He's exactly the type of manager we need though, and he would certainly get the best out of our young squad. I know the players really enjoyed working with him during his short spell here, and no doubt he'd be welcomed back with open arms.
  17. Ideally I'd like him to stay as I think he could score 15+ goals in League One under the right management, but won't be surprised if he does leave. If he does go, which is looking increasingly likely, then I wish him all the best.
  18. Big fan of that retro training top that Henderson has on. Will be getting me one of those for sure!
  19. Would love to have Pearson back here, but can't see it happening. Then again, I couldn't see us being taken over by a billionaire a few weeks back. You never know in football.
  20. Would rather have had Micky over Tony Adams but in an ideal world, neither would get close to being appointed manager. Gordon Strachan please!
  21. Under the right manager, Lallana would shine in League One. He struggled towards the end of last season, especially under Wotte, where you got the impression he just didn't enjoy playing out wide right. Now Wotte has left, I believe Adam will stay at Saints and that can only be a good thing for us. He's got a lot of talent and will be one of our star players next season IMO.
  22. Abso-bloody-lutely. Would love to see Strachan back here. I'd be over the moon if he did return. Strachan is the man to take us back up the leagues and give us a team to be proud of.
  23. South Today said Micky Adams, Tony Adams and Steve Coppell had been linked to the job. Nothing more. Nothing less. This simply means that some media outlets have linked them to the post. That's it. Having said that, I really hope that Coppell is the only one of those names to be considered by the new owners. Either Adams would be a massive disappointment.
  24. No to Tony Adams. Yes to Gordon Strachan. That is all.
  25. Bookies don't always get it right, but my god I hope they have on this occasion!
