I doubt very much he signed it because he wants to stay for 6 years. I reckon the contract was renegotiated so that Saints were able to ask more for him and so that Virg gets paid more and has the clauses he wants (e.g.- regarding certain clubs bidding for him, Madrid/Barca etc.).

I don't think Puel cares more about possession than goals- it's just that his method of getting goals includes keeping possession. You need to score goals to win games and I'm sure he realises this. Also, I'd rather be a club that cares about the bank balance than win the FA Cup and end up like that lot down the road. We lost a game- we'll lose more this season but we'll win some too.

The plain red shirt from 3 years ago was £50 with our badge and sponsor on it- or £15 for the exact same thing from the Adidas teamwear shop. We are not paying for the quality of the shirt; we are paying a 300% markup for a team badge. I don't think they should be £15, I just have a problem with the rising cost year after year for no apparent reason.

I'm more interested in the price. £50 for a football shirt is obscene and seems to be standard these days.

I think you can only compare yourself to who's around you- if he was the best player at Norwich he may not have felt the need or been coached well enough to improve further. With our coaching team and some better players around him he may well take the next step. Players do tend to improve when they play for us.

Body language? Well then, case closed! Or... load of rubbish. Let's just wait until we have real news not based on amateur kinesiology.

I see your point about Koeman and I'd prefer to keep him, but he isn't the be all and end all. Lots of people thought that Poch leaving would signal the end- then we went and achieved our highest ever finish in the Prem and qualified for Europe. Whose to say there isn't another gem that Les has his eye on already to replace Koeman with who will do even better given the chance? If the last few years of being a Saints fan have taught me anything it's that everyone is replaceable.

Yep, he signed a 4-year deal when he joined in September 2014, so he's contracted until 2018.

It's a nice idea in theory but if the panellists think that Saints have been totally awful in the first half and a particular player is to blame it wouldn't be very helpful for the fans/players/staff to hear that before coming out for half time. It's different on TV as you're not at the game so it won't make a difference.

Agreed- Victor always look lethergic, he just strolls about. Showed his awesome strength at times on Wednesday. Gaston was poor- the rest of the team had to carry him due to his poor passing and he had a few through balls played to him in the second half (a couple of them one-twos) and he looked like he couldn't be bothered to go up a gear and chase the ball. We can't afford to play him; he's like having half a player on the pitch. There's a reason our manager hasn't rated him all season. Fingers crossed things will stay like that.

What evidence has he provided that he is a real creative force in the Prem? Absolutely none. He is a liability on the pitch and essentially puts us down to 10 men. He's not worth the risk, hence he doesn't play.

That 45 minutes is more like 20 minutes in reality. I haven't had any of the issues others seem to have had (links not working etc.). The online queue thing works well- it used to be that it all just crashed or it said 'page not found' when it all got too busy.
