    THAT Save

In Soviet Russia, I think they'd build a monument to it. The one a minute before wasn't half bad either. Just thought it needed it's own thread. Up there with Blayney and Banks IMO.
  2. Honorable mentions to Perry and Skacel too.
  3. Just back and an excellent performance I have to say. Two home games in a row where we've played in-form playoff chasing sides off the park. Who saw that coming last Friday? Very impressed by the team ethic, the attitude and desire to play the ball forwards. Wotte, I take it all back. You are not a cloggy Steve Wigley. His team selection was spot on, not tinkering with a winning formula like Poortaloo. Everytime I thought of a substitution which was needed, he did it about 2 minutes later. As for the players: Davis - 8 THAT save! When he caught the corner at the end, I cheered louder than the goal. James - 7 Thought he was better first half, but did very well considering Lallana offers him fook all protection. Went a bit quieter second half. Size - 9 Won everything in the air, excellent play. Good movement and reading of the play for a big man. Well done. Perry - 8 Don't remember seeing that much of him, but don't remember too many Cardiff chances. Kept it simple and had McCormack (top player) in his pocket. Skacel - 8 Solid defensive play and some excellent forward play too. Added some much needed width and joined the attack well second half. Lallana - 5 Only poor performance I thought. Just didn't affect the game anywhere near like he used to and plays far too narrow IMO. Also leaves James exposed a lot. DMG - 7 Certainly looks a whole different animal in midfield. After a sluggish start he picked up and put a lot of effort in. Was clearly knackered when he came off, so at least he's trying. Surman - 7 Good all round game and some great forward runs down the left. Linked well with Rudi. Gillett - 9 Excellent. Like a little whippet. Great engine, passed the ball well and reads the game fantastically. Was everywhere today, and at the right time. Euell - 6 Some good hold up play, but I don't remember him ever really making himself much of a chance. Was a nuisance, but not as much as he can be. Saga - 7 Good hard working game, greated some great chances for himself. Fantastic turn and shot first half, shame Euell blocked it as I'm sure it was going in. Subs: Schneiderlin - 6 Didn't do much wrong, but was hardly memorable. BWP - 6 Couple of good runs, but not enough time to do much. Should have come on instead of MS for Lallana earlier on IMO. Wotte - 9 Faultless team selection, tactics and subs. Lipstick - n/a But I did laugh when he went on a bit of a Maradonna at the end.
  4. Fookin' brilliant.
  5. I am also going for the first time since that unforgettable Plymouth game at SMS. I think you should factor that into your calculations, as I'd hate for them to be incorrect.
  6. One minor adjustment.
  7. Pahars. It would be nice and small, therefore cheap.

  9. Just been flicking through the OS, was about to start this one myself. Take your pick from: 'I sh*t you not Michael, the girls in Edinburgh are this big' 'Killer is left to console Rudi after Rupert snubs his offer to, "give me a hug"' 'Bored with training, Rudi and Killer swap fishing stories' 'Ok... so after that it's little fish, cardboard box, yeah?' 'It's not fair Michael. They're all laughing at my tights.'
  10. Sure there was an April fools joke on the OS in 2003 when the club announced our new home kit would be blue and white stripes in tribute to Pompey's imminent promotion. Was before I joined Saintsforever, but I'd bet it rattled a few cages.
  11. Nope. Don't worry Rupert, your secret's safe with me.
  12. You're just dressing it up with a bit of anti-Lowe stuff so it isn't so obvious what you're playing at. Nice try Rupert.
  13. Evening Rupert.
  14. I don't care if he stays in the local Hilton TBH, a man eating a day old zebra carcas, a python, a live frog and various insects makes for entertaining TV IMO.
  15. WGS Pearson Nicholl In that order.
  16. I don't remember ever being 'allowed' to play it, it was just something we did when the teachers weren't looking.
  17. The Emirates sounds like a f**ing library.
  18. I've never heard Three Lions sung in the 2 Cardiff games I've been to. Can we address this on Saturday please. Thanks.
  19. Southampton coroner Keith Wiseman recorded a verdict that Mrs Pyatt had taken her own life One way for Saints directors to bring in some more income I guess.

Well for a start Davis was nearer £1.2m going by most accounts on here and II cost us £350k. That leaves Pele with £800k. Also you do seem to have based your transfer fee on assumption that all those figures are exact.
  21. It's not about being funny. It's about the satisfaction of knowing they've had to suffer the same tiresome jokes at EVERY match since the beginning of time.
  22. If you're going to call that 'racist' then surely you would have to put calling Pompey fans 'skates' etc. in the same bracket. I am surprised that being called a sheep****ger would cause any real emotional suffering for a Welshman. If you stand back and think about it, it is a ridiculous accusation, unless of course you do have relations with sheep. A group of Welshmen at a football match, I think they have a rough idea that they are going to get some stick, yet they keep coming back.

    The Internet.

Without the internet people such as myself who have never lived within 80 miles of Southampton, wouldn't be able to discuss Saints matters at all. Other than family members, who I live nowhere near either, I don't know any Saints fans that I haven't met via this forum.

And it comes back to the, 'he's worse because he cost more' argument. He may have been one of the worst value signings, but he was the solid defender we were so badly lacking at the start of last season. After the 4-1 home defeat by Palace and defeat by the Posh, do you think we could have coped without him? A couple of extra defeats at the start of the season and you do the math. Relegation would have cost one heck of a lot more than £1.1m
  25. Search for 'Hahn' on Google maps, you'll get the idea.
